We hired DL Design Construction last year to completely renovate the exterior of our home with James Hardie siding, including windows, light fixtures, and all new electrical with an all new panel. Dimitry and his team exceeded our expectations so much so that we rehired them to build us not one, but two storage sheds. But did they really build us the storage sheds we wanted?

We had one previous storage shed. You know the one that everyone has. The so called Tuff Shed, in reality wasn’t so tuff. It was falling apart. It was seated on cinder blocks that weren’t stable or sturdy. There were gaps in between the doors and we wanted something more secure and airtight from dust and critters. Especially the smell. You know what i’m talking about if you’ve had one. We also wanted something more purposeful, and something that would have longevity. So we shopped around looking at Tuff Sheds from Home Depot & Lowes, but quickly realized that they were similar to what we all ready had just with a bit more bandages. We knew within a very short period of time these sheds were going to fail miserably from their design and cheap building material. So we picked up the phone and called Dimitry at DL Design who we TRUST.

After discussing our requests with Dimitry his team went to work. Heres a brief breakdown of the work they did: They tore down the old shed, poured two concrete pads including a walkway leading up to the shed (that we just love). They anchored the shed down to the strong concrete pad, which practically made it tornado proof. They built the frame with precision and excellent craftsmanship. Insulated it so i can store more temperature regulated items. They sheathed the frame with plywood on the exterior as well as the interior. Then wrapped it with a water barrier paper. They installed several windows to help control temperature and bring in natural lighting. They installed a sturdy door with lock and key, which helped secure it, as well as prevent dust and insects from entering in. Unlike the prefab ones that have gaps and fall apart due to water intrusion and warping from sunlight. They finished the inside & outside with the best siding material out on the market, the James Hardie fiber cement siding. They also painted it from inside and outside with high quality paint. And not to fail to mention they installed electrical with an interior ceiling light and 3 outlets. You thought I was done, but i’m not. They also installed 3 custom gutters to help direct water away from the structures.

With these two new “sheds” we can utilize this space for so many purposes such as a new office space or even a gym. We can store things in there that we could never store in any new prefab shed out there. Such as food as an extra pantry, clothing such a transferring winter wardrobe from summer wardrobe. Storing blankets, towels, bed sheets, and not worry about things smelling like it came out of a shed. We no longer need to worry about bugs or critters getting to our valuables or moving in underneath the crawlspace making a din, since the “shed” is sealed airtight from all around.

Why I love to hire DL Design Construction? Because Dimitry is a great contractor. He combines technical expertise with, honesty, effective communication, and strong organization to deliver on time and within budget. He provided me with all the details, he’s transparent, he provides written estimates, he managed subcontractors effectively, he’s keen on keeping the job site tidy. He works hard on maintaining clear communication throughout the project. I am so thankful to the work his team has done to our property. Their craftsmanship is excellent. With each board cut to precision, and every nail driven in the correct position. They have exceeded our expectations yet again. So did they really build us a “shed”? No, they built for us something that exceeded our expectations in every way.

Decided to replace the three layers of siding (redwood, plywood, vinyl) on my older home and DL Design Construction did an amazing job, far exceeding my expectations. Outstanding attention to detail and they offered great solutions to some of the issues with the house. Cleaned up the site daily and took pride in their work. My wife and I are very pleased and can't recommend them enough.

I had purchased my 85 year old duplex last year and needed to have the upstairs exterior siding replaced. I wanted to have Hardie siding installed as my home is going to be a long term rental property. In my search found DL Construction. They had great reviews and were 5 star rated. And they delivered on that rating! Always a good sign when neighbors are very complimentary on the final look.

I signed my contract in early August and due to supply chain issues, they weren’t able to start until December. The crew was friendly, nice, and hardworking. They kept my property clean the entire time. My house received new siding, new paint, several sagging beams were replaced, new gutters and a new door installed.

After working many years in my profession with various contractors, I could see the quality work the crew did as they really paid attention to details and made sure the end product looked good and I was happy. If I need any work done in the future I would use them again and would recommend them to anyone else that needs a quality contractor. As with any construction project, I recommend that the contract is concisely worded and full scope included.

Highly recommend this company. Had our 2 story home re-sided. Took 3 weeks of prep work before new siding could be installed. Our home was missing quite a bit of plywood which had to be done. Amazed at how much work had to be done first! Paul and his crew were wonderful. They cleaned up every single day before going home. This included our neighbors yard also. Every thing that had to be removed was put back in place. Some damage was done to 2 window screens and they replaced those with heavier screens. They put new lights up for us, installed a new front door and built a new door for the water heater. So glad we had them do the work!!

I am very impressed with the work DL Design did on the remodel to my halfplex and the front side for our adjoining neighbors. We chose them because they have done quality work for one of our friends and are affordable compared to other companies on the market. We had siding, insulation, weather barrier, and electrical wiring done on. The process was very smooth and the workers were very flexible with the constant changes and additions considering we had a newborn with crazy sleeping schedule. They respected our privacy and our wishes in order to make me and my newborn comfortable and uninterrupted. We are very satisfied with the end result and will definitely be using them again in the future.

We embarked on a project to replace the dated vinyl siding on our house, which had been in place since the 1970s. Our initial meeting with Dimitri evolved into a comprehensive plan where we decided to enlist DL Design to not only replace the siding but also tackle the roof replacement and deck reconstruction. We received a very competitive price for the entire scope of work.

While there was a waiting period for materials and permits, once the project kicked off, the crew displayed exceptional speed and efficiency. During the removal of the old siding, we uncovered several areas with dry rot that necessitated framing replacements. Whenever such unforeseen issues arose beyond the contracted work, DL Design promptly provided quotes and detailed plans for the necessary repairs.

The entire crew exhibited exemplary manners, courtesy, and professionalism throughout the project. Every interaction with any member of the team was a positive experience. Upon completion of the work, our house was not only transformed aesthetically but also left cleaner than it was when they first arrived.

Throughout the process, both Dimitri and his crew patiently accommodated our numerous questions, providing clear and comprehensive answers.

These guys, especially leads Paul and Dimetri 2, were among some of the best contractors we've hired. We needed siding, electrical and window work. We got a couple of bids, and DL came in at the higher end. We chose them because some good friends gave them a very high recommendation. So glad we did. Amazingly punctual, hard working, professional and willing to patiently navigate the twists and turns these projects require, they respectfully completed their high quality work in a timely manner, while negotiating holidays and inclement weather (work was done Nov - Jan). Their daily cleanup was much appreciated. If your budget allows it, they should be a top consideration.

I researched DL Design Construction carefully after being swindled one too many times by contractors and decided to hire them given their good reviews. I am so glad that I did! These were some of the kindest, most helpful guys that we've ever hired to work on our house. They were honest, on time, cleaned up every day after themselves, and did fantastic, careful work for a reasonable price. I will hire them again in a heartbeat for any other construction projects in the future.

I had new construction build in 2017 and hired this company to installed a new wheelchair lift for my building. They had me sign several years service contract for maintenance. I lost electrical power to unit and made a service call to have them inspect a few weeks ago. Their repair guy told me I don't have any power going to the unit (which I already told them) and have an electrician come check. I paid for an electrician to fix the problem. I then get an invoice for over $400 just for them coming out to tell me what I had told them. They said that's their minimum fee for just showing up and that they normally charge more. They told me they deal with larger companies and not small ones. I tried working with them about the cost but have been ignored. I felt like I've been ripped off in more ways than one. If you're a small business owner, I don't recommend this company.

We live in an Apartment in Downtown Sacramento,they are only about year old. They have Kone elevators basically almost brand new! We have an elevator that has not even worked 50% of the time, it’s almost always out of service! When it is working my wife will not get on this elevator because she is afraid she will get stuck on it. Don’t blame her because I almost got stuck on it. I would say this company has big problems and can’t fix there own Kone elevator!

We had a wonderful experience with Carrisa from Kone. She was responsive and knowledgable. Kone services our Elevators in Truckee and they always have a tip to keep things running smooth.

We hired KONE to perform required state elevator testing at our building. Prior to their visit, our elevator door controller (logic board) was functioning normally. During their testing, I was informed that the board was defective and needed to be replaced. I found this concerning since it had worked reliably for about ten years up until the day of their visit.

I was told I’d receive a quote for repair or replacement within 72 hours. Over the next week and a half, I repeatedly followed up but received no meaningful updates. Our elevator remained out of service during this entire period, causing significant inconvenience.

When I elevated the issue to a regional representative, I did receive an apology but still no clear solution or timeline for repair. Shortly afterward, I was contacted by another company representative who said they were “parting ways” with us and would no longer provide service or assistance in sourcing a replacement part.

My experience with KONE was marked by poor communication, long delays, and a lack of accountability. I can’t say exactly what happened to the board during testing, but the sequence of events left me frustrated and without a working elevator for weeks. Based on my experience, I would advise others to proceed with caution and make sure to have clear expectations for communication and follow-up before work begins.

Though my tenure was short due to an opportunity with the railroad this company was small enough to make it feel like family. Good sets of guys. They have a short, buff, asian foreman that's top notch and another foreman, just as good named Sardines. I'd like to work here again if they let me.

I needed a crumbling rear deck replaced and must have interviewed over 30 contractors before signing a contract with Benning. Eric Benning showed up on time with his assistant Ashton, was professional, and asked good questions. Since I live in a historic-tagged house in Midtown, that meant I needed someone who also knew how to navigate the not-so-easy Preservation Dept. and permits. Benning’s bid was the highest but they also produced a high-quality and beautiful deck. You get what you pay for. Brian was the lead on my project and he and his co-worker Donte worked very hard, showed up on time, kept me in the loop, and kept the work site clean. I just couldn’t be happier with my experience with Benning and strongly recommend them.
