What a great experience working with Black Diamond and our landscape designer Julie Mohr. From our first meeting with Julie and her beautiful computerized drawings we had nothing but a positive experience. The whole team from start to finish were professional, knowledgeable, punctual, efficient and kept our budget in mind. Julie is a hard worker, not afraid to get dirty and she makes sure you are informed and kept up to date on every step of the process. A five star rating is well deserved.

Black Diamond did a complete front and backyard transformation in my yard that's just finished this month. It took over a year to make this a reality and I am really happy with the result. Laurie, my designer, was able to help me define the space that is both modern and functional. From selecting hardscape elements to picking drought tolerant plants, she provided valuable suggestions and her knowledge of plants is amazing. The foreman, Rafael, is also very responsive throughout the installation process. Though there was delays over materials and scheduling, their quality of work covered the shortcoming. This project is definitely challenging at times, but I am glad they are responsible and skilled to make it happen.
The scope includes driveway, walkways, patios, planters and surrounding seating area, kitchen island, plants and vegetable garden.

Jim Wright was the best designer and coordinator of a fairly extensive remodel of our driveway and yard. It was a difficult project because all the materials had to be moved long distances from the drop off point on the road. The various teams that worked on our project delivered a new landscape that compliments our home. We are glad we chose Black Diamond and would use them again and we definitely recommend them.

We recently had the pleasure of working with Black Diamond to redesign our backyard, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. From initial consultation to project completion, their expertise and attention to detail were impeccable. But what set them apart was our assigned designer, Laurie. Her expertise and plant knowledge is beyond what I could ever have hoped for and we quickly knew that we were in good hands. Nothing we said went unheard. She was able to see the potential in every aspect of our space.

Laurie has an incredible knowledge of native and drought-tolerant plants, which were priorities for us. She was able to recommend a variety of options that not only look gorgeous but are also well-suited to our local climate, reducing the need for excessive watering and maintenance.

Laurie took the time to listen to all our concerns, needs, and wishes. Then, she came back with a design that was not only aesthetically pleasing but also solved all the issues we were facing. When I initially reached out, I hadn’t considered how pavers could elevate the space but her creative vision knew exactly how to create the impact we needed. She found ways to incorporate existing elements into the new design, saving us money and reducing waste. The transformation was remarkable, turning our backyard into a space that is functional, beautiful and uniquely fitting to our home.

The install team from Black Diamond was also fabulous. They took great care in every part of the installation, from the preparation of the soil to the placement of each paver and plant (we had a gopher problem before but of course they had a solution for that!). You could tell they took pride in their work and ensured each element worked as intended (our irrigation system needed a lot of help!).

We now have a backyard that feels like a special place, a retreat where we can relax and enjoy the natural beauty around us. We felt like a part of the process and Laurie brought all issues (you just can’t know for sure what’s underground until you start digging) to us quickly and with solutions lined up. Laurie incorporated clever design touches that turned eyesores like a weird retaining wall into a functional centerpiece. We didn’t know what to expect when we reached out but we are so grateful for the team at Black Diamond that turned our backyard into an invaluable extension of our home.

We’ve used Black Diamonds landscaping services for a few of our project. The design specialist assigned to us was Jim Roberts. It’s been such a pleasure working with Jim that I can’t recommend him enough. We are fairly nit-picky on the quality of work done at our house. Best thing was that we felt at ease sharing our concerns with Jim because he would not just dismiss them but listens and then takes appropriate steps. This could mean an extra charge for something we wanted to change but so far it’s always been a fair ask. We still have a few more landscaping projects and we won’t hesitate to contact Jim again to work with him.

After getting bids from 2 companies, we went with Black Diamond and are very glad we did. Although the quotes came in at around the same price, Jeremy (our PM) threw in a few "extras" that we thought were worth it. We absolutely love our new backyard patio pavers. And when the crew discovered extensive tree roots and we decided to slightly change the perimeter of our design, Jeremy and the team were very accommodating to us. I would highly recommend Jeremy and Black Diamond.

We recently went through a backyard renovation with Black Diamond. Our project manager was Bruce and the foreman was Rafael. We received three bids for our project and planned on getting a fourth. After hearing the project proposal and discussing price with Bruce we felt confident with going with Black Diamond. Black Diamond was able to turn our concrete jungle of a back yard into a nicely leveled area, complete with grass and beautiful pavers. Communication is key in projects like this and both Bruce and Rafael are good at making sure the homeowner is aware of what's going on with project from beginning to end. I would recommend this team for any outdoor landscaping project.

I asked specifically for a text regarding the following
"Need a small fence, 3 feet high by about 10 feet wide. Need a simple gate 6 feet high by 18-24 inches wide. Need a few smaller stumps ground and small (3 inch diameter) trees removed. Some removal or relocation of volcanic boulders. Would like to explore weed screen and rocks. I have so many succulents to add for desert-scape concept. Overall space is about 15x10."

They called me back 2 hours later stating they essentially can't help me because I would need a structural engineer for the fence and gate. I asked if they could do the other stuff and they stated they wouldn't be able to help me. No pictures. No consultation. Didn't even ask for my address Just "No". We weren't even in the phone for 1 minute.

Recently we had Black Diamond Paver Stones & Landscape install paver stones in our front yard. They did a fantastic job. After we called Black Diamond to get an estimate, we met with their Project Design Specialist, Jeremy. He sold us, not only on the package they would provide, but we were sold by what we usually don't see in many company representatives. It turned out we were right about his character. Michael L. was great to work with -- he was on site frequently, easy to communicate with, and was able to schedule our job quickly. Advance notice was given of all work, and great efforts were made to minimize disruptions during construction. They listened to our concerns and priorities and acted on them.

Michael and his crew completed the project on time and on budget. The quality of the finished product was truly excellent, and we are overjoyed with the outcome. We used Black Diamond to transform the front of our home - driveway, walkway and landscaping. We were so pleased with the results, we immediately used them again for the back yard! Our designer, David, was a huge help bringing our initial ideas to life. He was so easy to work with and very responsive to our every need. Black Diamond Landscape just finished a four-week project replacing our concrete patio with pavers and changing the design a little. They also added lighting and upgraded our irrigation system. They were great to work with and kept us well informed. Kyle and Laurie met with us many times before we finalized all the plans. The price was more than we had anticipated but we're very happy with the entire project. We added a flower bed using stacked stone and drip irrigation. They also installed synthetic lawn where we could never get the grass to grow near our redwood tree area. Rafael, the foreman, had a team of very hard-working and polite guys who did quality work and always cleaned up when finished for the day. We love our new lighted steps going out of our family room.

Laurie was amazing from start to finish knowing we were on a very tight timeline. She got design done quickly and had everything set to go to get work started. She made helpful design suggestions that we ended up incorporating and made the overall yard turn out great. She also has a really great team. Ernesto did an amazing job and got done in 3 days versus original schedule of 7 days!! I was pleasantly surprised by how fast he moved. He did a flawless job. The team was always on top of things, given out house needed to go on the market, Randy went out of his job duties to pick u pallets so we could start staging work. Blackstone will be my go to for any future landscaping work!!

We are very glad that we went with Black Diamond for our backyard remodel! It was a big project starting from scratch and Black Diamond handled everything with sensitive professionalism. Above all else they listened to our desires, needs and concerns and they have a system in place to handle everything from start to finish. Besides the quality of the project which is of top concern we also appreciated the personalities of the workers. They get along and support each other's talents and specific roles. We hired Black Diamond to re-design our large front yard and driveway. They were very responsive to our request for a quote. The project manager came out to measure everything (more than 1.5 hours of measuring) and explained to us how Black Diamond would work with us. We already had a couple of other quotes that were cheaper, but we decided to hire Black Diamond. This is not only based on their Yelp review but also on how we appreciate the project manager understanding of our need.

Due to our house remodeling, we had to delay the start of the paving project for 3 months. The start date came and went but we didn't hear back from Black Diamond. It turned out that our project manager left the company. We got a new project manager assigned, Jeremy. Jeremy contacted us right away to get our project started. He is very responsive to our need and can be contacted via phone, email, or text. Taking over someone's else project is always a challenge but Jeremy was able to work with us to get everything on track.

Our foreman was David. The crew was very professional and work very hard. Our project was delayed here and there due to the rain last winter, but it was still completed in reasonable time. The crew did a great job and cleaned up very nicely every day. They were respectful of our yard as well as the neighborhood. The driveway and the yard just look beautiful. We got many compliments from our neighbors.

Jeremy has good knowledge of plants that would thrive locally. We appreciate it very much since we recently moved here from another state. He helped us pick out plants for our new planting area and deliver them to our house too.

We like working with Black Diamond and Jeremy very much and are looking forward to working with them later this year to transform our backyard too.

The material they used has made the playground safer for all the children at Growing Light Montessori School.
