We recently got our backyard hardscape and landscaping done with Black Diamond and are very happy with the whole process and the results! Laurie worked patiently with us as we figured out what we wanted to do with our space.
Laurie and the entire team at Black Diamond were very professional and responsive. Even after the project was completed, Laurie was quick to answer any questions.
Laurie also helped us pick the right plants that suited our needs, using her extensive background in horticulture.
We highly recommend Black Diamond and look forward to working with them again.

If you want your new turf done don’t go too black diamond first of all very poor company Mike greenwood now that’s a piece of work very unprofessional petter lol Alejandro said our property looked better with the damage the done this was the first job stay turned for about 50 more pictures and a very long review when my wife gets done first of all the sent there best crew did a horrible job came out and replaced it with defective turf would not do anything about it so we had too send pictures too global turf and they warranty it and black diamond said if we will sign a form stating that we won’t do any bad reviews they would come out and put it in at no cost haha so we decided if they can’t do it right the first and second time we definitely don’t want too go for a 3rd time. Black Diamond did a great job transforming our backyard into a welcoming and enjoyable hangout for family and friends. MollyG, designer from black diamond, is fantastic to work with. She provided input on pavers and colors that works well for out space, answered questions we have along the way and kept us updated on the progress.
They workmanship, fit & finish thus far is great - it's been about a month since they completed the project. I'm not too worry though, as their work is covered by a 27yr warranty.
Also, the team took time sweeping and washing dirt & gravel off the driveway after the project is complete. So, kudos to them for really finishing the job!

Sahar and Black Diamond were perfect. Sahar worked with us to quickly render and talk through options for our backyard, adjust to fit into our budget, and then the project execution itself with Sahara Alfredo and his team was straightforward with clear communication. A little Spanish helps when communicating with the work team but that’s to be expected.
I really can’t recommend enough to talk with Black Diamond about your landscaping project. As another datapoint we were also referred to them by another friend who had a great experience.

We hired Black Diamond for a very large project: A complete redo of our front and back yards. Yet not long after beginning our project, we realized our mistake. From the beginning, our project was plagued by an absence of governance, poor quality workmanship and a lack of project management.

In hindsight, the warning signs were present from the beginning. The contract was poorly written, with ambiguous language, conflicting statements and inappropriate terms. For example, buried deep is language that voids the warranty of the driveway pavers should a typical pickup truck drive on them. Even after the contract's execution, Black Diamond gave little regard to its terms. For example, we negotiated the pricing of prospective contract modifications and included these details in our contract so that we wouldn't be distracted by this process should we wish to change our scope of work. A modification did come up, but Black Diamond billed us according to their normal (higher) rates and terms, thus prompting time-consuming and distracting discussions and negotiations to resolve the issue.

When it came to the project buildout itself, we experienced a litany of issues and aggravations from the very beginning through the end. These issues were meaningful, occurred repeatedly, added up to a significant amount of time, and in several cases were material to the project's outcome. A short-list of issues include: removal of the wrong plants on our property that we wanted to keep; garbage and litter strewn throughout the worksite and into the street; poor quality craftsmanship resulting in incorrectly designed and installed items; incorrect drainage design and installation; damaged personal property; use of defective parts and replacement of those defective parts with more defective parts; unaddressed sewage from the porta potty; and on and on.

Perhaps the core problem with Black Diamond is that it's hard to know where the "buck stops". Black Diamond subcontracts out the primary on-site work to other landscape construction firms. Thus, we thought that one of Black Diamond's core value-adds would be project management, including managing the subcontractor by undertaking responsibilities such as overseeing their work, double-checking their work quality, and ensuring we received a high-quality deliverable according to specifications.

Yet when quality of work issues arose, as they did frequently, it was on our shoulders to identify the problems and bring them to attention. Black Diamond seem to put little effort into quality control. When we brought problems to Black Diamond's attention, it seems their sole action was to simply pass along our words to the subcontractor. That was the apparent extent of their actions. It thus remained on our shoulders to oversee the subcontractor's corrections and to ensure they were actually completed. This made us wonder what it was we were paying for with Black Diamond. It would have saved significant money and perhaps even improved the project execution had we simply hired a subcontractor directly.

Since completion, we've repeatedly had problems with plants that were either defective when planted, or planted incorrectly, thereby stunting their growth or killing them. The plants come with a limited duration warranty, so we had them replaced during this window of time. Yet when the replacement plants failed to grow or starting to die off as well, Black Diamond refused to address the underlying cause of this repeated issue, despite the fact that we repeatedly brought it to their attention and sought resolution during the warranty window.

We write this review reluctantly. This yard project was the retirement dream of an elderly man. We desperately wanted to love it. But the fact is, dealing with Black Diamond was tedious, exhausting, stressful, and disappointing. It was an eight-month source of anxiety and stress. We hope that our words prompt prospective customers to give more consideration to alternatives to Black Diamond, a suggestion we wish we had received in advance of our selection.

Black Diamond Pavers was a great company to work with to help turn our backyard dreams into a reality! From the initial consultation to the final installation, the team was professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. We already had an idea for a paver and wall design for our backyard and our design/project manager David E. helped bring it to life and provide excellent recommendation for materials and the layout. I really appreciated that David listened to us and was great at communication; constantly keeping us in the loop of the project schedule and answering my questions and concerns.

The project started on time and was completed in a reasonable timeline. Marvin's team was the installer for our project and they did an excellent job with demolishing and installing the new pavers. I'm grateful they took good care of the area, and made sure to leave the working area tidy each day!

Another testament to the quality of Black Diamond and why I'm glad we worked with them is their relationship with Belgard: our chosen paver supplier. We had an issue with efflorescence on some of the material, but Belgard and Black Diamond were quick to work together and replace and fix the issue.

Overall, I highly recommend Black Diamond for anyone in need of paver installation. They are a top-notch company with a great team of professionals!

This review is for for Black Diamond, and more specifically for Amy Degan, who was our design specialist on the project. We couldn't be more happy with the final results. She was very responsive, and we had great communication throughout the duration of the project. All of our issues were addressed, and she really made sure that the design accommodated all our needs including the fact that we have young kids, so it needed to be family friendly as well as aesthetically pleasing. We received daily updates on the progress of our project via text message and photos. The crew worked tirelessly usually 5 to 6 days per week and were very professional. The project was completed much sooner than expected. We are particularly impressed with the 27 year workmanship warranty, and we chose black diamond because we know of the quality that they stand behind. Well worth it for what we spent, and we highly recommend black diamond, especially Amy Degan.

Black Diamond Paver Stones & Landscaping was wonderful to work with and we would enthusiastically recommend this company. The design work done by David Emmons, and the craftsmanship done by the team led by Arturo Ramirez was amazing. They were responsive to our changes and had great problem solving skills. David took a gopher ridden, neglected, not level back yard and turned it into a showplace. There is just the right balance of stone pavers, artificial grass and plantings.The driveway is now the envy of our cul-de-sac. We are sure that it has increased the value of our home way more than what we paid for the work done!

Just had a project with Black Diamond that just completed on Friday. It was about 400sq.ft. of pavers covering a driveway, and two long side paths, one of them with curves. I designed the pattern for the pavers, but wouldn't you know it; the pattern that fit just perfectly on paper was a little off in real life. The crew was fantastic in working with me to adjust the pattern so that it not only looked great but also minimized the number of cuts and waste material. I would strongly recommend Black Diamond for this kind of work and the actual two man team that laid the pavers for me are pure magicians! Can't say enough good things about this job. As to price, it was a little bit more than I expected, but you get what you pay for and I'm very pleased with what I got! Pictures attached.

My front yard and two flower beds were transformed into all I could have envisioned. Thanks to SUZIE GEE, my Project Designer, she listened to my wants, and designed the perfect landscaping. It was a challenge: my yard is steep so needed to be terraced, rocks to hold the plants, and plants selected to not attract the deer. Thanks, Black Diamond, for a beautiful finished product.

Black Diamond did a phenomenal job on paving and landscaping at my house. They were professional and top notch from start to finish. I was also impressed at their attention to detail, and by how prompt they were about addressing any questions or concerns and constantly checking in with me to make sure that everything was going well.

Jeremy (designer and project manager) was very collaborative and hands-on. He was very knowledgeable about plants and was able to turn my suggestions into a design that covered all of my goals. He was able to talk through the pros and cons of various choices and was very patient in explaining all the options. I was hoping for low maintenance drought-tolerant landscaping that would also attract hummingbirds, butterflies and pollinators -- and I've been thrilled to see them already enjoying the new plants.

Jesus and his crew worked fast -- but also put special effort into taking care of little details I probably wouldn't even have noticed. They were professional and took special care to minimize disruption for me when they were doing the demolition (concrete removal).

I found them through my neighbor. They got a beautiful drive way from Black Diamond about 1 year ago. I really like their work. That's why I decided to hire Black Diamond to do my backyard.

At beginning talk with black diamond, Fidel gave me a very detailed design for it. This allowed me to have a basic sense. That design is one of the reason that I chose black diamond.

After we made decision about the design, then we scheduled the work.

They are really fast and efficient. For around 2000 sqt feet landscape, it finished within 3 weeks. I can tell that they are very careful about the details. The people are very easy to communicate. I asked all my questions and raised my concerns about the look like. They all handled pretty well.

After the work is done, I was so surprised by look and feel about synthetic grass, because they look so real. You cannot tell that they are no real grass until you touch them.

I am very satisfied by their work. I know next time, if I need to do landscape, I will still go back to Black Diamond.

Laurie has great taste. Believe me the color she suggests is the best for your yard, but you need to be patient since living art needs time to grow to its full size.

Laurie is also very patient and good at pushing onsite contractor to deliver the job. The contractors work with her are also friendly and polite and listen to you. No remodeling/upgrade can be perfect all at once since you may change mind during the project. I changed the location of control panel a couple times, and the whole team are supportive.

At the end of the project, me, Laurie and her contractor sit down and had green tea while enjoying the finished backyard together. Hope your yard modeling also leaves a great and joyful memory.

Chavalah Mathieson of customer support was a tremendous advocate in ensuring our satisfaction. Additionally, her field support staff of Tino, Johnathan and Ivan were excellent in doing the work in a professional, courteous and timely manner, always communicating with us to ensure our satisfaction. Black Diamond recently completed full landscaping on all 4 sides of our new house. It was a large project that started with a dirt lot and ended with raised beds, pavers, concrete, grass, and plantings. It turned out beautifully and we are very happy with the end result.

Laurie and Randy did a good job of managing the work of their many subcontractors and figuring out the details. Laurie is a very experienced landscaper – she really cares about the plants and knows them in and out. She helped us a lot with expert plant selection and advice. It was a pleasure working with someone that cares.

Construction projects are never perfect. The best one can expect in this industry is when any issues get owned and resolved. Black Diamond demonstrated themselves to be a reliable and trustworthy contractor in that sense.

We first heard of Black Diamond from receiving fliers in our mailbox. When we finally made the decision to renovate our backyard, we contacted them for a consult and from our very first meeting with Jeremy Ousset, we were convinced that he was the one that was going to bring our vision to life. We had a very rough sketch of what we wanted, and Jeremy was able to incorporate it into a beautiful design.

We were unsure of which specific styles and colors, but Jeremy met with us several times at multiple locations and brought materials to our home so we could see them first hand before we made a decision.
Once the work began, Jeremy frequently visited our home to ensure the materials and the work being done was correct and on schedule. In some cases, it wasn’t, and he was quick to resolve the issues so there would not be a delay in the project. The team was great about keeping the mess to a minimum and securing the space to ensure individuals that weren’t supposed to be on our property weren’t able to enter. The team was also mindful of our family, and always coordinated “loud” times with us to avoid disruptions in our schedules.

There were several occasions when we discovered additional work needed to be done, but it was outside of Black Diamond’s scope. Jeremy was very knowledgeable and was able to refer other vendors to us, who were also great!

A few months after completion, we noticed some of the pavers settled and we needed touch up to fill up some of the gaps. The team came back soon after we notified them to assess and brought the materials over that was needed for the touch up.

We are very happy with the results and the continued service we receive. We host gatherings in our new backyard often and have received many compliments. We hope to be able to remodel our front yard in the future and plan to use Black Diamond again.

After 15 years, we were finally able to make over our front yard and contacted Black Diamond. Wow! We could not have hoped for more. Senior Designer/Project Manager, Jeremy, was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. He listened to our ideas, told us what might and might not be possible, and made suggestions based on our ideas. He understood our budget limitations and was always conscious of that when we wanted--or needed--to make a change. The process takes time for the design, the contract, and then the execution. The project crew, led by Jesus, was excellent. They were hardworking, professional, and always respectful of us and our needs. We hope to start a backyard project in the coming year and will definitely reach out to Black Diamond and Jeremy.

This was our second paver job with Black Diamond. The first install a few years ago went flawlessly. They even went beyond our expetations with the service provided. The recent install we had came with a few hickups along the way. Chavalah and the service team was very concerned and receptive to seeing the install thru until we were completely satisfied and happy with the install. Even after we had paid in full.
