This review is for the install team, Tommy, Ryan and Gabe, who put in a new mini split system, and removed my old ceiling vent nightmare. They were all knowledgeable, thorough and very kind. They were also respectful of my home and my dog. I would recommend!

Service tech was on time, efficient, took care and professional. He quickly diagnosed the problem and explained the needed repair. He offered additional services/service plans in a professional manner, but was not pushy.

Carlos called when on his way. Arrived and went right to work on the A/C check. He found an issue and explained it clearly. He was extremely personable, polite and professional. He wore those hospital-type galoshes over his shoes and left the place as he found it. I’ll need to schedule an appt next week so We Care can take care of the issues he found. Kinda hope they send Carlos. He’s very trustworthy.

To be honest, our experience with We Care was not great. We had gone through the trouble of getting 4 quotes for the work. We enjoyed having Peter Child out and given the Costco backing reading some of the reviews and weighing the Pros and cons of each, we decided to go with WeCare. We were scheduled for 2 day installation, one day for the company to come out and remove the asbestos and one for the installation. The asbestos removal went somewhat smoothly, although they said they needed to contact we care for some sort of authorization because "what was up there wasn't on their original scope". We paid the asbestos removal company directly per direction from Peter. Thursday, one was home for the installation while I was at work. They had a lot of questions and needed to contact me. They were having issues with installing the electrical and the lines even though I had had this discussion during the quote. They wanted to run an electrical line almost 200 feet around the home in conduit, which was not going to work with our HOA. Seemed to lack the construction knowledge to figure out how to run it without further direction. They were also missing items to complete the install. It was so disorganized and was disrupting my day with questions so much that I had to leave work early to come home. I had to help ensure things were being done the right way. They didn't not finish the installation on the first day. The second day, they were there all day, almost 7pm with the installation. I understand it was a difficult installation- or what I was told. It seemed as if there was some inexperience in the crew. This was confirmed when I was told that it took a little longer because they had some apprentices. It was late- around 6:30pm but they finally got the unit running. I expressed that there was some damage to the vents installed and that the thermostat was not mounted properly. I remounted the thermostat myself. It was crooked because they left a broken anchor behind it and just installed it over the top. There were some issues still but the technician said "I can't leave until you sign the paperwork" I felt pressured to sign it but he assured me someone would be back to fix the issues and it wasn't complete. Almost 10 minutes after he left the unit went offline-. Turns out they never removed a plug and the system was bound to fail. On the hottest weekend in San Diego this year so far, we were with out air all weekend. I contacted the installer and he said someone will reach out. No one did. I had to text Peter and voice my frustrations with everything. Went the whole weekend without a word. To add insult to injury, the finance company reached out and said they were notified that the job was completed to our satisfaction. I had a chance to look up in the attic and was shocked further with the quality of work up there. On Monday, I got a call from the gm, but he didn't leave a number. I called back and talked to an AI operator, who wanted to charge me for someone to come back out... i eventually spoke with GM who listened but didn't wasn't the most sympathetic with our situation and seem to stand by his crew with how difficult the job was stating it was unsafe and difficult. Its not my responsibility to ensure job safety not is it my responsibility to ensure that the installation is done per the quote. Keep in mind that the installation is unfinished. They sent someone out on Monday and when looked at the work who was also surprised with the quality and incompleteness of the work. The plenum wasn't wrapped, the boots weren't taped or wrapped properly, the new steel flue wasn't braced properly. They completed all the work -but it should have been done right the first time. At the end of it, they tried to collect money that was paid to the asbestos company. I had to provide proof that we were directed to pay them directly. I wonder that anyone would have showed up Monday at all if I didn't reach out. All in all it was a disruptive, disappointing, and poor experience.

AC stopped working and I called We Care. They came out to evaluate the unit and found out the blower motor needed replacement. Luckily it was still under warranty but was told new part would take 4 weeks to come to Lennox store. We Care did somethings on their end and was able to fix in 1 week.
Thank you Daniel and also Jessica for making it happen.

Carlos was efficient and great at explaining his plan for the service. He was friendly and careful about covering his shoes when he entered the house.

I had a dryer vent cleaning 8 days ago, and after two visits I did not have any airflow, therefore moisture built up and the dryer vent hose was leaking. The technician didn’t know why and kept implying that the blockage was in my dryer. After having a dryer technician checked my dryer, I tried to have We Care come back out to clean the vent again. With the appt set, the technician didn’t even have the equipment. I had to call back to rectify the situation and I was told that my case was under review because the appt was cancelled, even though it wasn’t me who cancelled it. Then I was told it would potentially be 3.5 wks before someone could come out because I asked for a different technician. Mistakes happen, totally understandable, but when the technician came out the second time he should have cleaned the vent again just in case something was missed. It’s very frustrating that there wasn’t any effort to make sure the dryer was getting airflow the second time as well as attempting to come to a third appt unprepared. I have an appt now for Friday, 11 days after the initial service. Very disappointed.

Edit to add the response just received:

During the second visit the technician did not verify air flow. Yes he put more tape on the dryer vent tube from the dryer and to the wall, but he did not verify that there was airflow. Ask him how he tested that function, turning it on doesn’t prove airflow. And I had the third appt set and spoke with the technician. He did not have the equipment needed to redo the job, and so HE canceled the appt. I was available, so saying I wasn’t is a lie.

Yes, hopefully the situation will be rectified on my appt Friday.

⦁ When the installers accessed the Attic scuttle in the Master Bedroom closet to replace the old system, the sheetrock surrounding the Attic scuttle was damaged by them (cracked an broken). My wife complained at that time and was told by the installer that we would be hearing from someone to schedule a repair. Almost two weeks had passed and we had not yet heard from anyone, so I had to call and complain. It took another two weeks before someone came out to do the repairs
⦁ The thermostat was replaced and the large existing holes in the wall from the old thermostat were left exposed and uncovered even though the new thermostat comes with a trim plate that can cover those holes. I have since installed that trim plate, something that a "caring professional" should have done during the original installation.
⦁ Many of the new vents were installed crooked and there were dirty hand prints on the paint surrounding a number of them.
⦁ The Pad and Condenser unit were crooked, that is, they were obviously not set parallel to the house wall. I have since corrected that. The securement of the Condenser to the Pad is amateurish at best, clearly not done by a "caring professional".
⦁ When I turned on the AC for the first time, I could hear a whistling/whining sound that I discovered to be coming from the HVAC filter. That filter was dirty and needed replacement but the installer apparently did not even check it after installing a brand-new system! I had been told that the filter would be replaced with the new HVAC installation.
⦁ All of the attic ducting was replaced at a cost of almost $4000. Prior to installation, all of the vents had been fully functional, yet after the new installation, I discovered that five of the eleven vents in the house were flowing very little air and two of the eleven were not flowing any air at all. All of these vents were wide-open when I flow checked them but 60% of the vents were essentially non-functional after the new installation. It turns out that the two vents not flowing any air were not even connected !
⦁ This installation was far from professional and clearly the installers did not care. The company name really should be 'We don't Care'.

We Care was a second opinion/estimate. Daniel was great and fixed the AC at a very reasonable cost. I very much appreciate We Care and will continue using their service whenever necessary.

Shakeel was absolutely fantastic. He was professional, knowledgeable, and very courteous throughout the entire appointment. He took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure all of my questions were answered. It’s rare to come across someone so thorough and respectful—he truly went above and beyond. I’m very happy with the service and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Shakeel and the We Care team to others. Definitely a 5-star experience!

The technician was Angel, and he was very thorough, courteous, and informative. I asked a number of questions about the AC system and he patiently answered all of them. Great work ethic!

Signed up for an A/C checkup through costco. Maintenance tech Carlos showed up on time, was very professional, and checked both my furnace and A/C unit. He made a recommendation on what could be done for better performance and didn't try to sell me on anything other than mentioning a membership they offer. Price i paid was what was offered at costco, wish all service appointments were as good as this.

Jeff did a great job installing my Ecobee thermostat. Price was competitive, and Oak Island was way more responsive and professional than other companies I had spoken with. Highly recommended and will definitely use them again!

I found no value in the service and I am concerned that the service has a significant potential for introducing problems into my HVAC system that has been functioning flawlessly.

We Care communicated well throughout the process. Carlos the technician was friendly and thorough with his work. Took time to explain in detail the issues that I need fixed. Was not pushy. Very professional. I will use We Care in the future for my hvac needs.

We had a job that needed all day to work on with our AC and Daniel the tech who had come out previously to actually diagnose what was wrong with the air-conditioning came, spent the day and he was so efficient. He was quiet. He was respectful, and he was a joy to have working at our house. He came and went without any to do and was an absolute pleasure. We now have an AC which is an old AC working at optimum levels and we are so happy that we had him come to take care of it.

The technician who did the work today was outstanding. Very professional and kept me informed on the progress. He did a really good job.

Tommy, Noe & Fermin did a great job at installing central heat and air. My house had no duck work only a wall heater. They were here every day, worked extremely hard in the hot weather and Involved me in any decisions that needed to be made, including where the vents would be installed. Tommy went above and beyond taking the lead on this project. Would definitely recommend We Care plumbing. Kudos to all.

I did appreciate the service, repairs and explanations on how to operate the new units performed by Osiel, Ryan and Fermin.

Great experience! I found them through Costco. Jacob communicated the price break down clearly. Morgan and team did a great job on the installation and cleanup after. Morgan even worked out a great solution to my full electrical panel without costing me extra. I know I'll be calling the when I build out the Casita for my in-laws.

We had We Care come out two separate times today. One for a plumbing challenge; the other for an HVAC concern. Two different techs, both were total pros. Our plumbing challenge was something that bewildered three other companies. Dewey drew upon his many years experience to quickly diagnose what was happening and applied the fix. Time will tell if the fix was everything needed. But with their warranty/guarantee, I’ll be able to call them again with no worry. Trey on the HVAC side is smart as they come and really knows his stuff. All in all, We Care San Marcos did a great job!
