We have been working with Terranova Construction for the past 6 months on 4 different projects.
Steven and his team designed and helped us to Remodeled our living room to our desirable taste.
Then they helped us to designed and remodel our 2 old bathrooms from top to bottom. furthermore, they remodeled our guest bedroom.
Throughout these projects I noticed that STEVEN has hand-picked his entire team. They are very professional, extremely knowledgeable and very smart to find a way to Keep the integrity of the foundation and yet make my home looks modern and beautiful. Our home is located in Sausalito and is the old home. It was very difficult to change few things, but they find a way to overcome that obstacle and provide me with the design that I was looking for.
They are well-connected and have a great relationship with a few vendors which we were able to get discounts because of them. My husband and I enjoyed working with them. I do call Terranova Construction ( Steven ) on every little project that I want to do at my home. most importantly, STEVEN and his team are trustworthy and professional . they finished all the projects on time. I have referred them to my neighbors and my family and they’re also happy with their work thank you Terranova Construction for your professionalism.

Steven and his crew were AWESOME to work with. They did my bathroom remodel and were incredibly professional and accommodating to work with. The craftsmanship was excellent and the project finished ahead of schedule!

We recently had our bathroom remodeled by Terranova, and we're so glad we chose them for the job. Our original bathroom was dated and didn't function well, but the team helped us create a space we’re incredibly proud of.

There were a few things to clarify at the start, but once we got aligned, the project moved forward smoothly, and the final result exceeded our expectations. The new bathroom looks great and works perfectly for our needs!

Luis brought a great sense of ease and humor to the process, which helped make the renovation feel less stressful. Marvin’s attention to detail really stood out, and he delivered not just a beautiful space but one that’s thoughtfully built. And Steven was always quick to respond, happy, and available to answer any questions we had.

Overall, we love with how everything turned out and look forward to working with Terranova again in the future.

We found Terranova through BLOCK and they ultimately re-did our bathroom. We love our new bathroom.

Communication from the start was always clear and our project manager was on top of everything from acquiring permits and dealing with the inspections. We have a very old house so we got held up a bit with inspections and had to have a few electrical and plumbing change orders which always sucks but we anticipated it could happen. We went over our timeline which is frustrating, but again, old house and unforeseen change orders so we always knew it would be a possibility and they just kept open communication with us and we powered through.

After the job was complete we had a few notes for them and they honored coming and tweaking the things we requested.

Steven and the team were absolutely fantastic partners to work with - they came in and completely redid bathrooms that a terrible contractor left me with. I’m so happy with the way they turned out. Steven and team were easy to communicate with, trustworthy, and thorough. They also dealt with my micromanagement really well :).

We engaged with Terranova to remodel the kitchen and two bathrooms in our loft in SF. My wife is a commercial interior designer with exacting standards for design and quality of work. It was a fairly complex and, at times, challenging, project, including a kitchen from FORM, with which the Terranova team did not have previous experience.

Overall, the Terranova team did a good job. We are happy with the results they delivered. A few little things came up post-completion, which Steven and team resolved quickly and to our satisfaction. Terranova's one-year warranty for their work is definitely reassuring, as is knowing that they won't disappear after the last invoice is paid.

Positives:
The project was finished on time and on budget.
Communications were very good, with informative from-the-site explanations of challenges and questions via pictures and videos.
The quality of work was very good, with some real excellent craftsmanship in construction, cabinetry and flooring. Some of the work, like bathroom tiling, was downright superb.
The team came up with many creative solutions to challenges that arose along the way and delivered solid execution on the chosen options. This team has a wealth of knowledge about functionality of things, which came in handy for merging design and function to create numerous great outcomes.
The team excelled in working with the kitchen manufacturer (FORM) to assemble and install a complex kitchen. And came up with a creative under-the-floor electrical wiring for the island with minimal work and no trace on the floor after completion. Beautiful work.
Steven's connections with outside vendors were super helpful as we needed a few custom-made items like doors and jambs. The quality of those items was very good.
The work site and the common hallway in the building were kept clean and organized. The hardwood floor was well protected, escaping with only a few minor dings.

What could have been better:
The main thing is that crystal-clear communications is a MUST. If you have a very specific vision for your project, explain clearly, then repeat, then check. Mark it up on the spots. Avoid any ambiguity and don't leave anything un-spec'd. These guys are excellent with their hands, but they're not designers. Understand that fact, don't leave anything to "creative interpretations", and your creative vision will be faithfully brought to life. Exact locations of fixtures, exact tile layouts, exact sizes of things. Of course, if you're less picky, their solutions will be completely satisfactory to a design layman; just not to an award-winning interior designer.
We did need to ask/remind the team to better protect (cover up) surfaces like floors, walls and installed cabinets. Nothing got damaged, but better safe than sorry.

Bottom line: would hire again, keeping in mind our own advice above. Thank you, Terranova team! Enjoying our upgraded spaces.

Terranova Construction did a phenomenal job doing a complete bathroom renovation at my home. The owner, staff, and crew worked very closely with me throughout every step of the construction project from beginning to the end result. They were meticulous throughout the process. They were all professional, knowledgable, and easy to communicate with. I am thrilled with how wonderful my new bathroom looks. I would highly recommend them. I would ask them to do a construction project again.

The team at JS Company was very professional and efficient, they did great quality work and even put us ahead of schedule.

Recently I had a fence replaced by Clough Construction and the whole experience, from start to finish was fantastic. The estimate process was quick and simple. They understood exactly what kind of fence I wanted. the price was great: I thought they might be a little more expensive because they're local and the pictures on their website were kind of fabulous. Ultimately, the price was great. I could tell they were very professional when they had 2 separate people check for utility lines. They were actually able to start building sooner than originally anticipated and the whole thing was done in 2 1/2 or 3 days. It's beautiful and rock solid. Rafa's carpentry and attention to detail is really unusually good. My fence is beautiful and I love it. Highest possible recommendation for Clough and crew.

Clough Construction is both a highly professional company and one that produces quality work in a timely manner. Their staff and construction team are well trained and take pride in a "job well done" - finished on time with close attention to all details. I highly recommend them.

Clough Construction is definitely up to the challenge. I know my hillside deck was too much of a challenge for many deck builders. It was not an easy job. On the other hand every time I threw them (an owner) curve ball they hit it out of the park. They adapted to my requests. I gave them a rough sketch in which I used one of my dinner plates to out line the perimeter of a curved deck and honestly my deck has exceeded my highest expectations. Their crew of guys are top notch. We actually all hugged each other when the job was done. They were very proud of their work. You can't go wrong with Clough.

For 20+ years, Scott and Deanne Clough, a top-notch duo, have consistently brought a thoughtful, honest, and creative approach to our many decking and fencing projects - - small, medium, and large. Scott has a great design sensibility, is strong in creative problem-solving (our home is on a hillside), and sensitive to budgetary needs. You will be in thoughtful, caring hands with Clough Construction and their team that goes the extra mile!

Clough Construction did an amazing job on my deck, ripping out and replacing the old one that was very hazardous. The guys (and gals in the office) are ALWAYS professional...Scott came out, ON TIME on our initial visit, explained the entire process clearly, did ALL of the work according to the permits and codes, the craftsmanship is unbelievable and the efficiency of the crew were working together as a unified whole. After interviewing 7 "businesses" that claim to "do decks", Clough Construction was the very EASY CLEAR choice. Don't go to anyone else, seriously, one contractor let his hunting dog loose on my property not knowing that I have cats and that we have a fox family that lives on our property.....and that the dog "left me a present" that the contractor refused to pick up only telling his dog "good boy". Don't get the clowns, seriously, Scott Clough is the only one, and his team, I trust. They are the efficient, self reliant, quick, efficient, and each member of the crew has an understanding of what true craftsmanship isand sense of detail.

We have used Clough Construction for over ten years. Not only are they responsive to our needs and creative in their solutions, they have provided us with a number of high quality construction projects. The outdoor deck that they built for us over ten years ago is still there and holding up very well through many seasons of rain and harsh sun. We couldn't be happier with their work.

I highly recommend Clough Construction. They recently built a fence and gate for us and it turned out beautiful. Deanne and Blake went out of their way to make sure we were happy with every detail. They really went above and beyond. We have worked with a variety of contractors over many years and have never had a better experience or one that even comes close. I was worried they would be expensive because they are so highly rated by everyone, so we got competitive bids, including a “cheap” company a neighbor recommended. Clough’s bid was right in the middle, just a little more than the “cheap” company. They showed up on time. All the workers were polite and professional. They stayed on schedule and the project looks great.

Clough Construction competed two separate horizontally-hung redwood fences for us totaling 150+ feet as well as a cable deck railing. The first fence had many grade changes and the product was fantastic. The horizontal boards lined up perfectly and the the steps in the top of the fence were artfully done. The second fence went in after our landscaping was complete. I did not have to replace a single plant. The crew was considerate, very hard working and professional.

Overall very good experience- the office communication and responsiveness translated to the job site and we even though we as clients went through several changes during the planning of the project, everything was well managed and clear when the work began.

Clough Construction is the best. They built our deck and fence a number of years ago, exceeding our expectations for both design and quality. Scott had excellent suggestions including a design feature to unify different fence designs and adding a raised planting bed next to the deck. Recently we had an issue with critters entering the crawl space from under the deck and Deanne sent a person to temporarily remove the decking adjacent to the house in order that a pest control company could deal with the issue. Afterwards she sent the person back to replace the decking. All of this without charging us for the service. We highly recommend them.

Clough Construction are known to our neighborhood now as the Wood Whisperers. All of their guys are incredible artisans, at the height of their craft, who produce the most beautiful work regardless of the awkwardness of the problems they face. We had 2 months with Quinn and Lol replacing our wraparound redwood deck, who are Incredibly nice people with the best work ethic I've had the pleasure to experience. Would re-hire them in a heartbeat and would wait a year for them to be free, if they were booked up, rather than use an inferior company. They are that good, and that worth it. Wonderful family run company with honest, hard working people captained by the lovely Deanne and Scott, who made the whole experience of installing complicated decking in Tiburon a lot less painful than it could easily have been.
