NATIVE Habitat is essential. This nursery is an educational center and provides the fundamental foundation for symbiotic gardening. I highly recommend taking a class.

Beautiful place, nursery, education center and more. Worth the visit. A hidden sanctuary. I will have to go back and take some pictures, as I was in a bit of a rush and didn't get to take any this time.

The person at information booth was honest and so informative. Some plants didn't survive, others are adjusting well to location. Now it's winter I can place in the ground. Will look for ride to return for seeds ,and more plants. All my budget allows.

Very good nursery with knowledgeable staff. Also nice how you can see fully grown plants on display in the grounds so you can get a better idea how the plants will look like in your garden when established.

Peaceful nature little big place on earth. Alejandro guided me through the experience. The hiking loop is great for vitamin D. I took home a White California Sage. The sacred, medicine and wisdom California plant. Theodore Payne Foundation is a pleasant place to go...

This place for me is Holy grounds. A veritable Mecca of knowledge and love for native plants. Most of my plants come from here and its always worth seeing what new plants they get from other suppliers. The staff are always there to help and are super friendly. I always look forward to coming here.

Do your wallet a favor, plant CA natives. Most CA home owner's water bills consist of 50%+ charges for just watering their lawns! Secondly, CA natives and/or water wise plants are colorful, wonderful to behold and exciting to learn about. Theodore Payne is a fantastic resource for obtaining top quality natives for your garden.

Still don't believe it? Well, go visit Santa Ana Botanical garden or Sana Barbara botanical garden and you see a palette of colors, textures and scents that will blow you away.

Lastly, CA natives attract native animals, birds and butterflies. Now how can the Jones' keep up with that?

I needed an oak tree and they had 4 or 5 kinds in a variety of sizes. Lots of ground covers, flowers and drought tolerant shrubs. I succumbed to the temptation of blue eyes grass.

I took their #workshop on native plants during the severe drought. We need their expertise on how to survive this fire season. This is getting too serious.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommended to go talk to them before you hire any Gardner to redesign your garden.

I became a member because I believe in their mission statement.

The Theodore Payne Foundation is a beautiful place hidden away near Sun Valley. I want to incorporate more native California plants into my mostly-Lowe's garden. This place is perfect and the people who staff it are very knowledgeable and friendly. Right now, it's appointment only, but I had no trouble getting in.

A small non-profit foundation with tremendous impacts for SoCal. Been a member and volunteer over the years. Well curated nursery, knowledgeable staff and wonderful education programs. Have learned so much about native plant life here. And most of my natives come from their nursery.
Btw be sure to buy some of their tee-shirts. Beautifully done and most comfortable!!
