Home Services reviews in Torrance, California

This store is a nice and real break from Lowe's and Home Depot. This place is very organized. The planting pots of all sizes and nice glazed ones. The water fountains are set up there and nice to look at. Great variety of flowers, herbs, and veggies. Okay selection on trees. Happy with souls and mulches, I got a few bags of topper myself for grass seed.

The tomato plant that we bought there died within a week. Home Depot would have refunded or replaced with no questions asked. Not Armstrong, the rude Assistant Manager said that we could not have a replacement. Also, I had been given a gift card as a store credit for a lemon bush that died a few years ago. Now that we wanted to use the gift card, they can't find it in their database. Even after complaining to the customer service on their site, we only were ignored. Home Depot and Lowe’s are nearby-I recommend shopping at either one of those stores.

I was there on Sunday to find spots for replanting. The customer service was great and there were plenty of pots to choose from. All those plants seem super happy and taken cared really well.

A large and beautiful nursery with so many plants! Loved walking through here and seeing all the varieties of flowers, shrubs, and trees. Definitely a great place to find new additions for your home garden.

My review here is mainly focused on Armstrong's recent class for gardening. The class on growing strawberries was well attended in March 2022. I would estimate that there were about 15 to 20 people in the audience.
The presenter was well prepared and she had a lot of knowledge to share about growing strawberries in California.
She also managed to give credit to the coworker that helped her set up the presentation and the plants for demonstration. That was a nice touch.
In the end, she ran a raffle. A little boy was the one picking the winner blindly. Coincidentally, he drew the ticket with the name of his mom on it. She won strawberry ensemble planted in a big pot. It had about five or six plants in it. The plants were already flowering; in an array of white and pink flowers.

Thank you and enjoy your exploration of this place. -
Every plant I get from here has thrived and produced, true quality. Love the selection and the customer service. Highly recommend.

I love this place... I just wish they had a dedicated section for California natives. I know I would have bought a lot more today.
Update! They put in a section of California natives and this made me very happy.
They also have a red eared slider turtle who was digging her hole to lay a clutch of eggs... They cordoned off the area so she wouldn't be disturbed. What great people they are.
Thank you! -
For my garden project, I visited Armstrong. Since I just started garden work, of course I have many questions for how to plant and which plants are fit my needs. However, I saw the staffs are chatting, no one see the question face! The plants seem dying, the prices are high, compared with Home Depot’s. No more Armstrong for me.

They have many plants and helpful people to guide you when buying plants.

Love the selection of plants. Always a delight visiting this gardens. Armando made it easy choosing the right Black Magic and Scentimental Rose, with a happy smile at the check out by Jade. Will definitely be back. Our new plants are already in the ground and smiling, looking forward to their continued blooms.

We have been coming to our local Armstrong for years, they have quality and variety fruit trees, flowers, hedges, ground cover, and vegetables. The staff are all friendly and many are very knowledgeable, the classes are informative.

First off the staff working here are some of the most friendly and knowledgeable staff I have came across in a nursery. All the plants are very well maintained and looked after. Whether you are looking for indoor or outdoor plants I'm sure that you will find it here, if not they can try and get it for you.

Super helpful and knowledgeable. I went in search of drought resistant plants for a project in the Mojave. They have many California natives and an entire area dedicated to California natives. Everyone there is helpful and knows their stuff. Their plants are for the specific temperate zone so if you live in the area, this is the place to. Their furniture pieces are exceptional as well.

I liked this class. Succulent in a tea cup.

Extremely helpful staff. We are plant novices and everyone was so kind and ready to assist with all our questions about getting into the hobby. And we made sure to pass this information on to our dad after gave him the plants to raise later.
They have so much variety to choose from but their real selling point is their expertise. -
Incredible service all around, the variety of plants us stupendous. Anything you can inagine for you dream gatden is there. I'm not the biggest gardener but it's a welcoming shopping experience.

Variety of plants available. Loved plants of red rose. If one is interested in fountain, will get a lot of options. Staff is generous and always answering politely. Price is almost equal to other places. Planter plots are available in various sizes and of different materials. Garden decorations items are worth to upgrade your garden. One can get fertilizer too.Parking is available if one wants to buy plants in bulk. Not trying to compare to Lowe’s and Home Depot as all three have their own positive factors /merit as far as plants and prices are concerned. One needs to visit all shops as plants may be different yet good, to compare.
