I love Armstrong's. They only carry plants that thrive in the area. The best quality plants. And very knowledgeable, pleasant staff. It's worth paying a bit more vs a big home improvement chain, imo.

Leaving this review to single out Miguel who is amazing. His knowledge and dependability translated to a wonderful experience on the purchase of a large tree for me. I will definitely seek his advice in the future!

Love going there! The flowers for my garden are more expensive here, but at least they don't die. So you get what you pay for, much better than going to Home Depot! And there are variety and selection is much better and the plants are well taken care of before you buy them.

I've been to this nursery many many times. You can count on this nursery to have hard to find items such as specialized fertilizers. The staff has always been helpful and knowledgeable about the trees, shrubs, and other garden plants. When not sure, they don't hesitate to reach out to other staff to get answers which is what happened today. I purchased an Arbutus 'Marina' in a twenty four inch wooden container which will be delivered tomorrow morning. I've been coming to this nursery for many years and will come back. Specifically, our next trip will be to get a fountain and maybe a new umbrella...they have it all.

All the workers are friendly and know alot of knowledge of plants and trees fruit trees. My nieghbor is looking for a couple of fruit trees. Thanks for the helper that we had, he was very knowledgeable. I like the thing if something goes wrong your plant has a lifetime warranty. Thanks for the good work that you do. A fantastic experience.
This place is a family owned one and you will get the personalized service that the big box boys just don't seem to have the time for these days. Special re? Yep,they can do that. Delivery? You bet! Fair prices? Oh,yeah. Once you try these guys, you'll forget about the big box stores. I walked into Home Depot and asked for a spider plant. Clerk said it'd in the middle of the aisle. I looked. Not one in sight. I drove to Armstrong and found exactly what I was looking for in five minutes. The workers know their stuff too.

This is a huge Armstrong's. The one I usually go to by me near Howard Hughes is nice, but this place is massive. Huge area for houseplants, and expansive outside area for everything else, including a large selection of pots. Great spot, I imagine locals love this place

Finally made the switch from buying plants at Lowes to coming to an actual garden place. Makes a huge difference. The help I get and the knowledge they have is great. They have a lifetime guarantee on their trees, which is good since the one I have I may have over watered or under watered and I'm not sure if it's totally salvageable.
The tomato plants I bought turned into huge bushes. No idea the plants could get that big. I also didn't know how to properly steak and trim them so they probably got a little over wild because of that.

It's the only place we go now for plants. Great selection. Bought my daughter 6 indoor plants for her room the other day.

Usually we shop at Home Depot for our plants but we have found that Armstrong Garden Center just has better quality products. They also have a huge variety of plants and everything you need to care for them. But the reason I'm writing this review was because the last few times we went the staff was amazing. They helped us out every step of the way. Not sure if they hired new people but whatever it is it is working.

Everyone and I mean every Rome was so incredibly knowledgeable down to the scientific name of each plant, it’s seasonal growth pattern and everything in between. Everywhere we turned there was someone to say good morning. They all asked if they could be helpful to us. It was a really great experience!

Beautifully set up with lots of fountains and places to sit. Plenty of plants to choose from. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. It's really a joy to bring our toddlers here to help choose new plants for the garden.

Lots of variety and helpful staff. all of my plant purchases are still alive and well, so the quality is great. Beautiful little garden to walk around, too. Waiting for their maple prices to go down a bit, but that's my only complaint. Good spot for gardeners!

A little pricier than the plants at your local hardware store but you can clearly see the difference.

Nice store with all kinds of plants, yard care, furniture & decorations. They have seeds, live & fake house plants along with everything for the outside. Staff are very knowledgeable about what they sell & are willing to help. In my opinion, though, they are a little on the high side on pricing. But sometimes it's worth the extra for the service.

The staff at Armstrong Garden Center in Torrance is amazing. There are plenty of helpers, all of them asking if they can help, and all of them incredibly knowledgeable. I've been repeatedly amazed by their expertise, and their info/advice has been quite helpful! The selection at this garden center is vast and high quality. I do wish pricing was lower but I'm really not certain it's much different from other options out there, and the value of their customer service is worth paying a higher price, if indeed I am. I'm impressed, too, that they say they'll refund me if any of my plants die despite following their advice for proper care. That's very reassuring!

UPDATED 2025: A while ago I gave this location 5 stars and a positive review. My family has been shopping here for many years and we really love the amazing environment, generally great customer service, and variety of plant options.

However, I have to change my overall rating to 2 stars because of a bad experience with the assistant manager. I believe his name was Jose. He is rude to customers and does not understand the first thing about management. His behavior is definitely more reflective of a newer employee than someone who has experience overseeing others or more complex situations. I honestly cannot believe such a nice store would promote someone with poor communication, conflict resolution, and critical thinking skills.

He is also a tad on the racist side, showing preference to customers who share his ethnicity and snubbing others from my experience. I know that the negative treatment I received from him is not reflective of the whole store (hence the 2 stars instead if 1 star). But it was SUCH a negative experience, I will probably never set foot in this store again even after so many years of patronage. If this is the kind of person that can be assistant manager now, it doesn't inspire confidence in one's ability to have a pleasant shopping experience.

I do know that the main manager of the store IS very nice, intelligent, communicative, proactive, and interacts well with customers, so only because of him and his attitude + professionalism will I MAYBE return one day . . .

This is an amazing store in many ways. I have to personally commend an employee named Russell. He is extremely helpful, knowledgable, and friendly. Like honestly, working with him is one of the best customer service experiences my mom and I have ever had. And I don't just mean at this store, I mean in general! What an awesome place to shop.

Plants are in great condition, staff ready to help. Very nice relief to look at plants!! Social distancing and mask wearing.

Staff always walking around helping customers. Love this Garden center. Excellent place to find super hot pepper plants. The staff here are amazing! They are knowledgeable with experience and perspective!! Not to many places like this left operating. Most places hire inexperienced people and shut down and don't understand why!!! Experience and knowledge help run operations!!!! Like this place. Great Job Armstrong and staff. Keep it up. Respect!!!

Great Garden Center, lots of cool things if you want to upgrade your backyard!

Place to visit for all kinds of plants. Everyone will find something likeable. Open 7 days a week from 8a to 5p.
