Beautiful and conscientious work; highly recommended. I hired Jake and his crew to revamp my garden, after another local firm had overplanted and the results looked odd and used a lot of water. Over time, he helped me select better (sturdier, better looking) plants, re-designed the irrigation, dug up some nasty cat's claw, and got things working and blooming again. Jake was also available for trouble-shooting in ways the original firm was not; I had some questions about seasonal tasks, next steps and inevitably broken equipment. He always got back to me with actual responses, and explained all processes in a thorough and accessible way. The quality of work is great, the design is much more consistent with what I wanted. Lastly, he actually remembers the project, which means he and his crew can tap in to address ongoing planning issues. Since a garden and a hillside are living systems that need attention from time to time, continuity is a real blessing.

Jake is the best! I had a list of drought-tolerant plants that I wanted and he procured every one and implemented a lovely design for my yard. He dealt with the entire process the LADWP requires for a rebate for which I was most grateful. Jake is easy to work with, listens to requests and makes helpful suggestions. I've had him come back to put in more plants and do maintenance on the yard. I

Jake Palumbo at Grounded Landscapes completely transformed my tired and outdated front and back yards in a timely, professional manner. It had always been my dream to convert my lawn and heavily water dependent shrubs to native California plants to support butterflies, bees, and birds. I didn't know how to go about this but was lucky to find a landscape designer who put me in touch with Jake. This designer had worked with Jake on other yard renovations and knew him to be easy to work with, reliable, and able to get the job done in a timely way.

Jake was always quick to reply to texts and emails, and I was really impressed with the thorough Landscape Home Improvement Contract that he provided at the start. This document outlined exactly what would happen and who would be responsible for what, as well as all of my rights as a home owner. This put me at ease, because landscaping is expensive and can go wrong in so many ways. Fortunately, Jake has the experience and resources so that things don't go wrong. My property was completed in less than 5 days, at a reasonable price. That is amazing.

I appreciated that he gave me choices, such as suggesting steel, aluminum, plastic, or copper for the rain gutter (I chose copper - it looks awesome!). He is a whiz at laying drip lines and installing smart water controllers. I can control the underground drip lines with my phone! What I also liked is that he doesn't complicate things - my lawn was sheared and rolled up and taken away in one day with one small machine and a few guys. It was hard, hot work but they made it look easy. He also has knowledgeable people working with him, (thank you, Hector) that he can bounce ideas off of as well.

I would not hesitate to call Jake and Grounded Landscape for any landscaping project.

im never really sure what i want to do, one of jake's strengths is his ability to listen and come up with a design that i love--even when i was unable to articulate what i was i wanted to see!!! he offered a few options--without overwhelming me. he takes his time to really come up with ideas that are sustainable, pretty and fit all together-complimenting what is already there or how things will go together. he also takes into consideration--time and cost of things. jake is kind and thoughtful and a delight to work with. as is the rest of his team!!! jake and his team take pride in their work. customer service is important to them!

Jake and his team did a great job of totally revamping our front yard and backyard, and Jake provided several suggestions that improved the design which was done by a friend. The front yard is no longer water-guzzling grass, but is now awesome California native drought-tolerant plants with gravel pathways, a rock swale and lots of interest. Neighbors compliment us on the yard all the time, and our water bill dropped dramatically! The backyard looks amazing, too. Many thanks for everything!
