If I could give 10 stars I would. Scheduling service is very easy, and Mel's was able to come out to my home the same day I called. This was for my yearly summer maintenance and I thought I just needed some freon.
Michael did a very thorough inspection and found my capacitor needed to be replaced before it went completely out. He also did a complete cleaning of the unit. Checked the freon and it was fine. He came inside and checked temps at my vents and air intake and my a/c is running like new again. Michael is our favorite tech. He is so professional and very thorough.
We trust Mel's and have always received great service. We would not use any other company. They treat us as valued customers.

We appreciated receiving a text message reminder for our appointment, and their crew arrived on time. They handled everything meticulously, cleaning up after themselves, and managed to replace the entire unit in just one day. Additionally, they calibrated our new system to optimize airflow, allowing for longer run times while providing a more comfortable environment.

Now, our home is much more enjoyable, eliminating the issues of extreme temperatures and dry sinuses that we experienced before. We can't recommend Mel’s AC enough. A+++!

We contacted Mel‘s Heating And Air for a mini split system on our house Boat on Lake Don Pedro. They came in at $13,500 after we continually asked for our bid for over two weeks. I do have to say Robert was awesome and we really expected to go with this company. Everybody on this lake has had a mini split system installed for less than $4500 and the bid we received from Mel’s was absolutely not what we expected.
I will say, that as of today we signed a contract with a different company, we are having our mini split system installed, 220 V, two air handlers inside the houseboat, And they are also doing/adding for additional solar panels to our houseboat/4 additional L16 batteries for our solar system. The A/C portion only as Mel’s Heating And Air had bid was just over $4000 from the different company.They did this thousands of dollars less than the system we were quoted yesterday for just the mini split system. We are very disappointed with what transpired between us and Mel’s Heating And Air. I know they’re going to respond with excuses, don’t listen to them, the bid we received from them is ridiculous.
If you need a mini split system/air-conditioning system installed on Lake Don Pedro You should call APG Solar out of Atwater. Everything we did with Mel’s Heating And Air was a waste of time and that was very, very surprising to us Again, do not listen to their excuses. They were ridiculous.

Thursday, June 12, the crew from Mel's Heat & Air Corp. Showed up at my home to install my new heating & air unit. What an experience for me and my 53-year old home. After the unit was installed and the first blast of cold air was truly amazing. The crew was amazing. The work they did made me feel like I had a brand new home. I am forever grateful for everyone at Mel's Heat & Air. A very special thanks to Noel, Jocelyn,Danipal, Ninef, Daniel, Mason and Robert. Wonderful people, everyone of them.

Mel's is my hero! AC went out and my home warranty couldn't get someone out for a week! Can you say worthless!!! So I called Mel's and they happened to have a cancelation and got someone out that day! They were able to diagnose the problem immediately, get the parts needed the following day and fixed my AC! It's working great now! I couldn't be happier!

Mel's replaced my A/C with a heat pump. Noel and the technicians were very professional and courteous. We are very happy with our new system and the savings we get with this energy efficient system.

My air recently started acting up again so I called Mel's to come out again but I wasn't thrilled about their mandatory price to just come out so I shopped around a little bit and found something more affordable. When the technician came out they took pictures and asked who serviced my units before and we told them Mel's. They showed us a few things that were unsafe and just needing attention. They was a bypass installed which removed the safety measures in place and could've started a fire in my attic if the system overheated. I was okay about that. A few other parts were hindered and need to be replaced. I thought Mel's had taken care of it altogether but I'm finding out now that wasn't the case and as a non professional I can't critique their work when they're done so not much I can do. The more upsetting thing was that when I called the office to ask about it the lady on the line got very defensive instead of trying to figure out a root cause, talk to the technician that did the work or anything. She stated they just switched to a new system so they can't access old files either. Not a warm and fuzzy for a customer with a serious concern. Again I was originally happy with the service until I saw the pictures provided by the other technician on what was actually done and what was still wrong. So I will not be going through them anymore or recommending them to anyone. Integrity is important to me.

I read many reviews on other companies before we hired Mel’s Heat and Air. I’m happy to add this one to the many positive ones already posted for this company. We recently had our furnace and ac condenser replaced with a new air handler and heat pump. The service was excellent from the initial conversation with the owner to the day the job was completed. I received a text before the service technicians arrived letting me know exactly who would be showing up at my house and that was greatly appreciated. The men worked hard and were very professional, they put floor covering down before they started and cleaned up everything really well. We are impressed with how quiet this new system is, we don’t realize it’s on until we feel the draft.

Pretty content with the A/C maintenance service, only a couple things I wasn't happy about. $150 to replace a start capacitor when there wasn't a service call. He had it in his hands and suggested a replacement. Parts & labor - really? I could see it if it was a service call but not maintenance check. With my unit a Dual-pac, I expected them to check the heat exchanger for cracks also as he had the unit opened. Not for an A/C check-up though. All n all, at least my unit was checked, seems to be in decent shape and hopefully will last a few years.

I was very pleased with Mels Air and Heating. They gave me a great price for a new AC compresssor and furnace combination. They are on top off keeping me informed of all the changes due to coolant restrictions. They answered all my questions to my satisfaction even after hours. Their service staff was very professional during installation that even my kids noticed. Most of all they liked my dog.

On time, professional, and efficient. We just had a new Heat Pump a/c and heat system installed. 1 day service. They worked fast and clean. Thanks Mel’s.

Michael, the service technician was excellent. He arrived ahead of schedule, listened to my concerns, and fixed the problem within on hour. I was thinking the condenser fan motor needed to be replaced, but he quickly diagnosed a bad capacitor. It was a much cheaper and quicker fix. He did not try to up charge me or to suggest anything I did not need.

So far our experience with Mel’s has been awesome. Very professional and great customer service. Workers are very kind as well. Highly recommend them.
