    SCAM Alert!!!!!
We have requested AHS for a stove knob replacement as they were popping out. The vendor from active appliance came out and said it needs knobs replacement and he will request from AHS and left. In few days we recieve a letter from AHS saying it is a "Misuse" of warranty as the knobs are not from the GE appliance. This was never mentioned to us. There was no repair done on this stove since purchased and no parts are changed, the stove is intact since purchased. Active appliance has not submitted any proof showing how the original GE knobs for this make and model should look like before determining and i wonder how AHS has accepted the diagnose without an evidence. These knobs are $20 a piece and i paid $100 for the service for 4 knobs just so my appliance is under warranty.
Be careful if this company is assiged to you ask AHS to change the company before dispatch. These people are doing fraud. Be careful. With all the reviews am reading there is a bigger scam that is going on. Anyone who got their service are turning into victims.

If you have AHS (American Home Shield) insurance, avoid Active Appliances even if they are recommended. I recently made a service appointment for my washer through AHS, and they sent Active Appliance. The technician who came smelled strongly of cigarettes and alcohol—the odor lingered even after he left my house.

He was here for less than 10 minutes total. He went upstairs, opened the washer, looked inside briefly, and then started writing a report. He never even turned on the washer to check what the actual issue was. In fact, his writing and filling out the paperwork took longer than his inspection, and he still ended up handing me a blank report before leaving.

The next morning, I received a notice from AHS stating that my service was “completed” and that Active Appliance reported “overload or misuse” as the issue, which is completely false. We are only three people in the household; there’s no way this is an overload issue. He didn’t even bother checking for simple things like a loose screw or other mechanical problems.

After reading other reviews, it seems this company uses the same excuse—‘overload or misuse’—for many washer claims, possibly to avoid repairs or replacements. The technician could barely communicate in English.

Bottom line: Stay away from Active Appliances. AHS should seriously reconsider partnering with them.

If I could rate this company a -0 I would. They are the most unreliable, unprofessional repair company I have ever worked with, and their technicians are so incompetent they have brought the wrong part to fix my washer. They also disrespect your house by not wearing booties to cover their shoes.. I only deal with them because my Home Warranty Co. American Home Shield assigns them to fix appliances. It took them three tries over a couple of months to fix my ice maker and that was only because they finally ordered a new one. Now my washer had an Error Code for a new part and after a week they sent a technician on August 21. He looked at the error code on the front screen of the washer and said he would need to order the part and we would need to pull the stacked washer and dryer out of the built-in cabinet to give them access to the back. There company no longer will be moving stacked washers and dryers because the tech could hurt his back. We did not know that American Home Shield had changed their contract, so we had to pay another company to come and move the washer. That was not enough for Active Appl. They insisted we have the dryer unstacked which meant both appliances had to be unhooked from the plumbing and electrical. They told American Home Shield Customer Service and us that once we had the washer and dryer moved and unstacked, they would come within 24-48 hours to fix the washer if we sent them a photo as proof. We said our space is small, so we did not want to move them until they had the part. They told us the party was coming on Sept. 10. They texted us they had the part and to move the units. We did and sent the photo, which they confirmed receiving. Then they refused to set the appointment to return. Instead, they said they would come the following week. The washer was blocking the entire laundry room, the dryer was in the hallway blocking the bedroom entrance and we had to remove the door to the laundry room to meet their demands of unstacking. So, we were extremely inconvenienced. They did not show up the next week, they had called on Sunday night to change the afternoon appointment to 7 am. on Monday and then canceled at 11:30 a.m. They finally showed up on Sept. 25 at 10:32 a.m. for what was originally scheduled as a 12-5 Appointment. This was a month that we waited with two no-show appointments. After this repair, we are cancelling our contract with American Home Shield since they do no care that Active Appliance has multiple complaints. What hurts is that they will not refund our extra $100 for the service call for the first guy who did nothing but look at the washer screen to confirm the error message we gave them over the phone. Active Apl. Is also refusing to hook the dryer back up (gas line and hose had to be disconnected to take it out of the cabinet and unstack). So, we will have to pay another company $100 to come an reinstall, even though they did not need to take the top off the washer to install the part. We have the tech on video. The entire procedure was done from the back of the washer. I would never use this company again!

Great experience! They sent a tech to our home to check an old fridge we thought we would need to replace. Problem is, the fridge is a built-in and replacements are very expensive. The tech took his time and thoroughly checked everything. Surprisingly, he got it fixed. Thank you Active Appliances, you saved us a ton of money. And special thanks to Anton for doing such a great job.

This has been the worst customer service experience I have ever had with an appliance company. Active Appliance was assigned to my dishwasher repair through American Home Shield, and from day one, it was an absolute nightmare.

Here is exactly what they put me through:

October 8 – The technician arrived to diagnose the dishwasher but then told me he could not because they “don’t pull out dishwashers.”
I have never in my life heard of an appliance company refusing to move the appliance they are supposed to fix.

I was then forced to hire another person myself, paying almost $100 out-of-pocket just to get the dishwasher pulled out so they could even begin to do their job.

October 16 – They returned, finally able to diagnose it, and told me they needed to order parts. I was told it would take 3–5 business days.

November 10 – Nearly one month later — not 3–5 days — the parts finally arrived.

November 15 – They came to repair the dishwasher, which by that point had been moved into my garage because it had been sitting in my kitchen unassembled for weeks.

After repairing it, the technician informed me that they do not reinstall dishwashers and I would need to hire someone else again to finish the job.

    So essentially:

Active Appliance doesn’t pull the dishwasher out.
Active Appliance doesn’t put the dishwasher back in.
Active Appliance took nearly 30 days to get parts they promised in under a week.
Active Appliance leaves your kitchen torn apart and expects you to coordinate everything yourself.

My kitchen was unusable for over 45 days. I could not even use my kitchen sink because everything was disconnected. The lack of care, professionalism, and responsibility is shocking.

    Their behavior demonstrates:

    Negligent repair practices

    Failure to perform contracted work

    Misrepresentation of services

Causing unnecessary financial loss and stress

After everything they put me through, I believe this company should be investigated.

Management from Active Appliance needs to contact me immediately to address the hardship, stress, and unnecessary expenses they caused. This was an unacceptable experience from start to finish, and no customer should ever be treated this way.

Dion came to a property we owned that had the inner glass of the oven shatter. He was polite and professional. He made sure that all the broken glass was cleaned up out of the oven and off the floor. He worked diligently and was finished in a reasonable time frame.
I would recommend Active Appliance. They got us on the schedule quickly. They ordered the glass and within a week of calling everything was taken care of. The glass for the inside of the oven was the most expensive part of the job. The labor was reasonable.

This is the worst company with the worst customer service possible. The receptionist named Chen is a blatant liar. She will constantly provide false information and then pretend like she never made such representations. When you ask to speak to a supervisor, she will refuse, make more lies, and when you catch her in her lies, she will make something else up. Every "repair" this company has ever made has only created greater problems. The technicians do not appear to know what they are doing, often searching in google for steps to fix the problem. I thought this company is supposed to consist of professionals. I am still waiting for a manager to give me a call back. Chen apparently can't decide if they are at lunch, in a meeting, or whether they are male or female.

They lie and misrepresent to the insurance company just to get paid more money.

I had placed the order with my insurance company and Active Appliance repair person came.

    He was an honest man.

He told me that the dishwasher might work temporarily and probably won't work as one of the parts needs to be replaced.

Next day I messaged him and he confirmed that he will order the parts and reschedule with me.

Now they are claiming it's been over 30 days, and I have to setup a new appointment and pay again.

This is after I reached out to them multiple times during the 30 days to check if the part hand arrived and if we can reschedule.

I would not recommend them at all.

The technician was a good honest man, the dispatch person and management is horrible.
