I absolutely love the swamp cooler the Cooler Company installed on my roof. It does a great job of cooling the entire house. However,, when I called in mid April to set an appointment to start up my cooler, I was told I would have to wait until mid June to get someone to come out to do that. This is a 25 minute job, and I pay them $175 for doing this simple task.. I would do it myself if I was confident of being up on my roof safely .I'm too old to do that. I was told that I would need to call in March if I wanted to get the cooler set up before it gets hot. This is such bad customer service. If they don't have enough technicians working for them to keep up with the demand from their numerous customers, then the simple truth is that they don't have enough technicians, and they should hire more of them. The job of starting up a cooler is not rocket science. These folks don't need to be highly trained. If I were to call early enough to get my start up in a timely manner, then someone else will have to wait until hot weather is here to have theirs done. Please, hire enough folks so that all of us can get the service we need in a timely fashion!

John was fantastic! He did a great job trouble-shooting our HVAC problem, solving the problem, & recommending more efficient ways to maintain it moving forward. We will definitely be calling for future needs!

We could not be happier with the products, service, and value we have received from The Cooler Company. Last year we replaced our evaporative cooler with a new one at a price that was far lower than competitors (in fact, one of the competitors recommended The Cooler Company!). We were so pleased that when it was time to replace our boiler, we again hired The Cooler Company. The same positive experience! Kevin gave us a great price, the installation was smooth and followed the timely schedule, and the unit is top-notch. High quality, terrific products, excellent service, and low prices. We are so pleased!

Had an ac / heating unit installed. Multiple problems and bad service. Would not use again. Charged for every service call even when they did not fix the problem or gave wrong information.

BEWARE OF WHO YOU'RE DOING BUSINESS WITH. THE COOLER COMPANY SELLS EXCELLENT PRODUCTS, BUT THEY ARE A LOUSY COMPANY to deal with after your initial instalation. The Cooler Company charges for the seasonal swamp cooler start up service and they will even schedule a service date. BUT what they don't tell you is the start up service will only happen IF they have extra personnel who are not needed for system installations. They don't have separate start up crews and installation crews. Swamp cooler system start up is their lowest priority. The company's policy is If they have extra personal on your schedualed day then they will come start up your system, if they don't have extra personnel they will reschedule you. As of today I have been on the schedule 3 times this month. The other 2 times they canceled because of lack of personnel. Hopefully the 3rd time is a win.

My evap cooler was installed in late 2024 so this is the first regular use of it - summer 2025. The faucet drips where it is attached to one side of the 2-sided water diverter. It doesn't drip if I am using the hose on the other side of the diverter. If the hose is not on, the unit Drips and fills a plastic Tidy Cats bucket in a few hours.

The Cooler Company installed the diverter and attached the tubing. REMEMBER: they did the installation but do not want to be bothered with what would likely be a simple fix. I am not to mess with it fo warranty preservation - and how does someone look for defects in a washer or in the part unless they can disconnect the water line? This is bad faith.

They want a $190 'dispatch fee' to come look at it. Then if they accept fault the repair may be under warranty - but no refund of the trip fee.

So - DO NOT EXPECT GOOD WARRANTY SERVICE from this company. This is a small problem that could cause a larger issue with the unit not getting water when it needs it. What good is the warranty if they won't fix the smaller issue? I regret my purchase now. The cooler works great - if no one minds the constant water leak.

After much time spent trouble shooting my swamp cooler and replacing the motor to no avail, called here. I was out of town and coordinated to have someone let them up the roof to see the unit.

Service tech work summary verbatim: “Checked and tested the unit. Found the unit had been taken apart by the customer, could have multiple problems. Customer would
like to get an estimate on new cooler install.”

$179 service fee. I knew the unit had issues but would have hoped that for almost $200 an HVAC company could troubleshoot more than, “could have multiple problems.”

I use to trust and enjoy Cooper but last year they started pushing unnecessary service and providing High, Medium, and low prices to fix the supposed problem.. It felt like they were fishing to increase revenue. If something is wrong they should be able to easily describe the problem and provide an estimate to fix it. As a result, I got a second opinion and new contractor.

Service was good until recent issue. Their technician replaced a cracked solenoid on the unit while I was out of town and turned water on to the unit in the basement, but failed to close the drain valve which sits immediately next to the water supply valve so the unit and supply lines can be drained completely in the fall. So a majority of the water was immediately flowing into the sewer line and continued to do so until I returned 9days later to the sound of water flowing loudly in my basement, thankfully all went in the sewer line as designed, but 50k gallons were wasted and my water bill is over $300 this month. An honest mistake and I told them as much, 4 times, and when the owner/manager finally got to me 2 weeks after my first call to them I was given excuse after excuse and no proposed resolution. BTW This issue also resulted in Denver Water flagging my residence and coming out and inexplicably shutting off the drip irrigation system that fed my raised vegetable garden bed causing major harm there. All I needed to hear is that they would cover the water bill and I was going to move on. They failed. Watch out for those who present excuses for their failures instead of remedies. Poor customer service.

AVOID THIS COMPANY. We had our swamp cooler installed at the end of season by The Cooler Company in October 2017. They removed the old swamp cooler and installed a new one. Fast forward to February of 2019. We were in the process of selling our home and needed to get our roof certified. The roofing company said our roof looked great but there were a few issues with the swamp cooler install so they were unable to certify it. After receiving a quote for over $1,000 worth of damages, I immediately called Gary with the Cooler Company. He told me to send over the roofing quote and photos and he will look at it. As soon as I asked him if he was going to send someone out to correct the issues, he immediately went into denial and deflection mode. Gary said that he doubted his guys did anything wrong with the install. I told him to look at the photos and tell me what exactly the roofing company was claiming was wrong and if there was possibly a mistake. He said he would look over the photos and get back to me. Didn’t hear from Gary for almost a week so I called him back to see if they were going to correct the issues from their faulty install. After going back and forth for a few days, he then told me on the 3rd or 4th call with him that they only cover issues with the swamp cooler up to a year after the install. I told him that the install was faulty and that the year timeframe should be irrelevant since it was a bad install to begin with. He then began to say that he doubted what the roofing company (very good reviews online) claimed was wrong with the roof. The issues were; incorrect flashing around the swamp cooler, the electrical unit (witches head as Gary called it) had shingles installed on top of it which does not allow for proper drainage, as well as the 12 shingles that The Cooler Company screwed the cooper water line into without adding any sealant to prevent roof leaks (see attached photos). Even the caulk job around the unit was done very poorly. After getting upset because Gary was trying to avoid fixing these issues, he told me that I should’ve let them know before the year was up so that they could’ve corrected it. I guess you have to go up on your roof and check to make sure the job was done correctly before they leave. I’m not a professional so that is why I thought I hired some professionals to complete the job for us. When you pay as much as we did for a swamp cooler, you expect it to be done correctly the first time. These guys are not professional with their installs and not very reliable to fix their mistakes. I would find some other company to install a swamp cooler and avoid this company. In full disclosure, after much back and forth with Gary, they did agree to fix some of the issues that they caused but not all. Since we were selling our home and needed to get the roof certified for the sale to go through, we decided to have an actual roofing company fix the Cooler Company’s mistakes and pay out of pocket.

*Updated review* Three days after I posted my original review (see below), Steve, the owner, reached out to me personally. He mentioned that there were new employees working who did not know the company policy about charging for service fees. Steve was very generous and offered to install my purchased part for free, and refunded $100 of the original $180 service fee. Based on a lot of the recent reviews that are harsh and negative about the Cooler Company, I hope this means that there is a changing tide and that this company is turning the corner to work on their customer service side of things. I really appreciate Steve reaching out to me, assisting us with our repair, and being a decent human being. Thank you!

*Original Review* We had The Cooler Company install our Breezair evaporative cooler. We've had it for a few seasons and have been happy with the product. This year upon start up, I noticed the evaporative cooler was leaking. I went on the roof and saw a crack in one of the pieces that was leaking water. I set up an appointment and provided the evaporative cooler model. The technician came out and quickly diagnosed a leaking solenoid value but said he did not have the part with him, and that he would have to come back the next day. He proceeded to charge me a service fee of $180. I asked if he would charge me another service fee for coming back the following day, on top of the $220 fee he quoted for the part and labor to replace the broken part. He confirmed that we would be charged ANOTHER $180 service fee charge for coming out.

How is it our problem that the technician did not have the necessary part on the initial visit? I called The Cooler Company to inquire about our issue and the phone operator informed me this was company policy. $580 to replace a part that cost me $75 to purchase online? I have been a home owner since 2007, and this is the first time I've experienced a company attempting to charge multiple service fees for the same job, especially considering the technician did not have the part on the initial visit..

We had to replace our old swamp cooler after 18 year. So we called The Cooler Company and had a Breezair evaporative cooler installed a few days ago. What a difference. It's now like living in a refrigerator. Hector Hulguin and his crew did a top notch job. The pictures tell the story. Highly recommend them. Going to use them in the future to service our furnace.

Bought an evaporative cooler from them (BreezeAir) and it worked fine until the remote started to flake out. They sent a tech out and then charged me for the service 130$ and then the cooler company wanted over 700 dollars just to replace the wireless remote! Total thievery, will not use them ever again. Company claims this is not their issue but an issue with BreezeAir. Well YOU recommended this product and gave no warnings about the stupid remote. The evap cooler constantly drips so it waists water like crazy. The mounting of the water hose to the house was poorly done and came loose from the brick after just a few weeks.

Great experience from our consultation with Lara taking the time to give me all options, details, and actually show me what to expect to Manuel and his team doing a terrific job with the evaporative cooler installation. They brought a lot of experience to the project removing an old evaporative cooler, patching the roof, installing the new Breezair evaporative cooler in a new location, running a dedicated circuit, and doing it all by the early afternoon while providing me with reference material and a walkthrough of the install. It’s 90 degrees outside today and the immediate cooling with airflow and humidity in our house right now is terrific. I’m taking the time to review because we’ve had a lot of work done to our home and this project went smooth from consult to completion. Awesome.

We have purchased three Breezaire coolers from The cooler company for different properties. After almost 15 years trouble free we finally had a problem with one. Joe came out several times to troubleshoot the issue and he absolutely went above and beyond to keep us from buying expensive parts we did not need. I would definitely recommend The cooler Company to anyone. Thank you Joe!

They went above and beyond to identify the initial issue for why my relativley new water heater crapped out, and setup my drainage in a way that would no longer cause future water damage to my wall with leakage.

A new cooler was just installed. Crew was on time and professional and friendly. The install took about 3-4 hours for a new install. The crew cleaned up any messes (insulation) and the plaster ceiling plaster cuts for vents were good. Overall at this time, great job and appreciate their work. Cooler is working great. Time will tell.

I had a new furnace, bosch heat pump and a rheem hybrid water heater installed. The cooler company installed in a timely fashion and Gordy did a great job installing it. Everything seems to be working fine and do not have any issues at the time. The price was just right also for all of this to be installed.

Great communication and overall amazing customer service.

They don't check their work. Left without ensuring a unit came back on(which required them to return for a second service call) AND they left my other unit running without a filter. Shoddy, careless work that could have damaged the whole system, I will never use them again.

Such a great experience with this company. Jesus was the absolute best to work with. It’s pretty rare to find this kind of customer service these days and the quality was first class all the way.
