We ran into issues during our install on January 16th (Friday) when the electricians contracted to do the original install couldn't show up until close to 4:30pm. When the electricians did show up, they said they couldn't finish running the wiring correctly in the timeframe allotted, so they had to jerry-rig the heat pump using our sump pump and doorbell line (disabling both for the weekend), and that they would come to fix it on Monday (19th). The temporary fix was put in place so that we wouldn't be without heat for the weekend. The electricians told me Jetson should be reaching out to me to discuss the issue.

The HVAC installation team had already finished all the non-electrical work close to noon so they said they would come back the next day (17th) at 8am to set up the system after electrical work was done. Unfortunately, we ran into another issue where the system would not start, and since the installers were contractors and not Jetson employees, they weren't able to troubleshoot. The HVAC contractors were great, but there was nothing they could do. After they confirmed Jetson was looking into it, they left.

At this point, I still had no communication from Jetson (to be fair, these issues occurred on Friday afternoon going into it Saturday morning). However, this meant the heat, doorbell, and sump pump were all disabled going into the weekend which was quite concerning. I reached out to Alanzo, our Electrification Consultant, around 8:30AM as he had been my main point of contact and I wasn't aware of another person to reach out to about issues. I got a response around 11:30AM that they were looking into it, then a phone call at 12:10PM from Tyrone, who informed me that they wouldn't be able to send someone out to fix things until Monday (19th), but they would send emergency space heaters for the weekend (it went below freezing and snowed). We already had space heaters running so I said we didn't need those. He also emailed me to provide a number for ops that I could call about any issues with the install.

Jetson employees came out on the 19th to fix things. They arrived around 8:30AM and left around 12:30PM. The installation went much smoother with the employees. Jeff, the electrician, was particularly helpful as he figured out that there was an extra wire that could be used to get the 240v for the heat pump, which avoided having to run a new wire and cut through drywall. This meant the electrical work could be done within a couple hours as opposed to 4-5 hours as originally estimated.

The system appears to be working well now, but I have to dock some stars for the process. We were without central heat, doorbell, and sump pump over the weekend. It made me concerned as it seems only Jetson will be able to effectively service the system due to the proprietary parts. My feedback would be:

1. HVAC contractors should either be given the troubleshooting tools or extra parts to help ensure the installation works. Alternatively, employees should be doing all of the installs.

2. Electrical should arrive early enough to allow HVAC actually test (and hopefully finish) installation on the same day per the one day install in the ads. This would help catch further issues like the ones we had sooner.

3. The ops number should be given to folks getting systems installed, or at least there should be more proactive communication from Jetson as soon as an issue occurs.
