Everything was perfect! They did an amazing job building us a new deck! They were even able to add a built in gate for our kids! Everyone was very polite and responsive to any request and went above and beyond cleaning up and removing old deck! Highly recommend McGrath Carpentry for any of your needs! Will definitely use them again in the future!!!!

We had several quotes to replace our front porch. It is fairly large, about 12x23. We picked Kieran and his crew because of the pics we saw of his work and personally because of his honesty and demeanor. He suggested things that made a big difference in the outcome of the finish work that no one else did. His crew were the best. If you need any carpentry work done you won’t find anyone better. We will use him again and have already recommended him to our friends.

I just had my old wooden deck removed down to the joists and replaced with composite decking with vinyl rails by Kieran and his company. They were quick and had it done within a couple weeks of my first call to them. Their price was reasonable and the work was excellent. They clearly took every effort to do the job with the highest skill possible and the outcome is very high quality. They didn’t try to convince me I needed more (like replacing the foundation and joists) done than I knew was necessary. They also offered me options like not charging me for demolition and removal of the old wood if I chose to do that part myself as I had already started to do so before I contacted them. I chose to let them complete that portion but I was offered the choice to finish and have that cost removed from their estimate. They gave me price quotes for both traditional wood or composite/vinyl and I believe both were reasonably priced . The amount extra I paid for composite combined with their quality work left me with an attractive deck that I already trust will last.

Kieran and his team did an excellent job building a composite decking step with rails over our old, crumbling concrete front step. I've had multiple neighbors stop by and fawn over their work. The quality is top notch and Kieran was clear and direct in his communication, we knew our options right off the bat and the work was delivered exactly as we discussed. Would use again and recommend to anyone.

McGrath carpentry recently rebuilt our deck. We could not be happier with the results. The complete process from quote to construction was without any difficulty. The precision of the carpentry and care given to the construction resulted in a deck which exceeded our expectations. The design recommendations improved what we wanted. We felt very lucky to find Kieran. He and his crews’‘expertise did an amazing job tearing down our upper deck and rebuilding a beautiful composite deck with new stairs. We were so pleased we hired him to deconstruct and reinforce our lower deck for a new hot tub. He even fit the lower deck into his schedule In time for a hot tub delivery. They cleaned up and left the yard like new. He is an excellent carpenter (and his crew is great). Best of all his pricing was fair and reasonable. We plan on hiring him for more work in the future. You won’t regret hiring him.

Kieran and his crew did an amazing job replacing our old fence with a custom built new one around our pool. They arrived on time, were courteous, efficient, and cleaned up all materials after the job was complete. We're thrilled with the new fence, and we'll definitely be using McGrath Carpentry for future projects.

We hired McGrath Carpentry to tear off our old pressure treated lumber deck and replace it with Timber Tech. They did an excellent job. We chose to have our decking laid in a diamond pattern as opposed to just horizontal boards. Even though it's a more difficult option, they did it perfectly. The workers were careful around the landscaping that surrounds the deck and asked before stepping near the plantings. We found all of the men who worked on the project to be cordial and courteous as well as conscientious. One of the things I found most pleasing was how well Kieran stayed in communication. He would text if there was a delay or any issue that needed our attention. We are very pleased with the finished product and they did a good job cleaning up and carrying away the discarded materials. We would give them our highest recommendation.

We were incredibly impressed with McGrath Carpentry. Incredibly quick and professional. They finished our entire front porch replacement in one workday. Kieran is also a very nice guy. He’s not going to nickel and dime you, and he’s definitely not going to slide anything past you. Very upfront, direct, and honest. The crew was super friendly and professional. I had a great experience with McGrath Carpentry. I had a deck torn out and replaced. The craftsmanship is outstanding, much more than I expected. They were on time every day, cleaned up their work mess every afternoon, hauled every scrap of old wood away and cleaned up after themselves when they were done. Kieran is such a down-to-earth guy, I really enjoyed having him do the work. I feel like I was treated honestly and most certainly respectfully. His price was fair, he uses quality materials, and my deck is engineered and architected really well. He definitely knows what he's doing and takes pride in doing it well.

They made several structural improvements along the way giving us a foundation that is now much stronger than what we gave them to work with. Those unforeseen upgrades would typically leave a homeowner nervous about the added cost, but for the labor and material that went into what was done, I was pleasantly surprised how little he charged for it. Any reader of this review should feel confident in hiring McGrath Carpentry and know that you're getting a fair price for quality work done by professional, courteous tradesmen. There's no fancy website to check out first, but ultimately customer satisfaction is what matters most. Reading the reviews of others is ultimately why I decided to set up an estimate and I'm hopeful my review serves the same purpose. We've hired many contractors over the years and this experience was, by far, the most stress-free rewarding experience we've had. Call him, you'll be glad you did!

Kieran and his team did an amazing job extending and redecking our back deck. Communication was great throughout the process. The team showed up every day and worked through some pretty harsh conditions. I really appreciate their work and highly recommend them.

Recently had my 27-year-old deck demolished and replaced with a new wooden deck. I was dreading the experience but everyone from McGrath Carpentry made it painless. I upgraded to a vinyl railing and am very happy I did so. The carpentry work was amazing to watch. I have a 27-year-old hydrangea vine growing up one post and they worked around that and even built me a little gate to my side deck entrance to replace the plastic childproof gate I've been using for years. Everyone on the crew was very accommodating to me and my dogs so we could get out in the yard when we needed to. I highly recommend contacting them to do any deck construction.

McGrath Carpentry built a new fence, in a professional, prompt and interactive manner for us. We were happy with the look, and we were pleased to see how our garden looks so much better with new wood providing the back drop.
The cost was reasonable and the crew was a very cohesive group and were able to answer the few questions that we did have, and do so with courtesy and interest.
We generally are not huge on suggesting contractors to other potential customers, but McGrath Carpentry gets a thumbs up from us , and YES … we would recommend

Kieran and his crew (props to Ken and Mike!) did an excellent job creating our new landing! McGrath Carpentry delivered in every category- reasonable price, timely, courteous, friendly, and most importantly, great craftsmanship. After we had removed our old deck made of pressure-treated lumber, which was 35 yrs old, we extended our concrete driveway and wanted to replace just a small section of deck-a landing with stairs and railings at our side door. We decided on composite decking (Fiberon Expresso and Latte) for its longevity and minimal maintenance. It looks just as I had envisioned. It adds so much to the esthetics of our home. My wife and I couldn’t be happier. They were conscientious with their clean up as well. Thank you again for a great job! Highly recommend!
