John and his son recently replaced my central air by relocating it, redoing returns setup, and fixing deficient venting to the main bedroom. My house is finally moving air the way it should and my main bedroom that has always been the hottest room in the house is now the coolest room as I had asked them to do. The new unit which they relocated from my garage to my attic is incredibly quiet and seems to be very efficient. Thanks ability man!

We have relied on John and his staff for over 2 years. When we bought our condo, Ability installed a new air conditioner/heater. They've taught us how to maintain the unit properly (replacing air filters regularly and flushing lines) and serviced the unit within hours when the unit stopped working (through no fault of Ability). Professional, responsive and great value.

We've been using Ability Air for several years. We were lucky enough to find this company after having several disappointing experiences with other companies. We trust John to be honest about what needs to be done. They always do a great job, are usually early to an appointment (they call first) and are very professional.

I have worked with John, and Ability Air and Heat, on several systems in several homes. He is an absolute professional. He has been fantastic with full complete installations, moderate repairs, and basic system maintenance. Him and his company are reliable, great with communication, and very fairly priced. I could not recommend them enough to anybody, big system or small, John and Ability Air will be able to take care of it, and is also a pleasure to work with.

If I could give John and Jacob 10 stars, I would! They installed and have maintained my A/C for years. They are quick to respond to the inevitable urgencies that arise through our grueling summers. Their maintenance program stays on top of my A/C's best performance schedule without my having to keep track of it. They are always prompt in their time window and phone ahead of their arrival. I greatly appreciate their office staff, Sarina! All involved with Ability Air are friendly, competent and professional. I trust them completely and am glad they are there.

John Dungan, owner of Ability Air installed my new 2 ton AC recently and we are very happy with his work. In addition A friend‘s AC went out during the hurricane and I heard about John‘s YouTube video which troubleshoots AC units that have stopped working. I texted him for the video and he sent it. I listened to it. I applied the 3 points that he suggested, and I got the AC to work on my own. I think this is a very thoughtful video to send to homeowners to enable us to do a few things to fix our AC instead of having someone out and that could money that we did not need to spend. wanted to thank John and his company. You guys rock!!!!!

Our A/C unit broke down this summer and John went the extra mile (literally extra miles) to get an uncommon part needed to repair the unit. I cannot thank him enough. As someone else mentioned in their review, and I completely agree, I would give Ability Air & Heat 10 stars if possible. We have used their services for over 5 years and John and Jacob do great work! They are happy to answer any questions you may have and provide very helpful information. I highly recommend them!

EDIT it's been almost 10 years for us now and John gives such incredible service. He babies my AC units and knows them well. I am part of his monthly preventative plan, which I highly recommend. Today was not the first time he was at my house 30 minutes after I called him telling him my unit wasn't working on a July Florida day. HIGHLY recommend!

Horrible company to work with please do not use. I used ability air to install a 15ton ac on a commercial property in 2019. The permit has never been closed out and is permitted as residential instead of commercial. I have six years of correspondence from the city of clearwater of the permit being continuously extended but never closed. I’ve called the office many times, left emails and have spoken to John the owner for the last 6 years to rectify the issue. I always get the same answer that the problem will be fixed or taken care of and it never is, they completely lie about everything. Permit is still open and has to be inspected, not even sure if it will pass or if they did properly. Stay far away from this company unless you want issues down the line.

I've had John work on my AC twice now. Both times it was a late night issue and they were closed so I called some 24 hour repair company. The first time they couldn't figure out what the problem was and gave up. The second time they recommended I replace the whole unit and quoted astronomical numbers. Both times I ended up waiting until normal business hours and called Ability. John got to the source of the problem and fixed it both times at a very reasonable rate. I really trust his knowledge, experience and integrity. I would highly recommend him.

Amazing company. Our old AC unit stopped blowing cold air and our two story house became an inferno instantly.
John and son came out and were able to quickly pinpoint what was wrong - a capacitor was dead. They replaced it and all was right in the world. A few days later something else had happened and we were deprived of delicious cold air once again. I gave a call and they came out. Tested things, the compressor and air handler were fine - hooray! They found the issue being that our breaker for the unit had fried! I saw it with my own eyes, and was relieved that we hadn’t had a fire because if it. They were able to handle that quickly, and once again, glorious cold air is pumping throughout my house. I will add for some context, our house is an older house built in the late 70’s. Our AC and Compressor are older as well. Most places would be upselling to replace the units instead of finding the actual cause of the problem. There is no upselling. Just facts of what was found and the solution. Totally recommend Ability Air & Heating!! We will be using them forever.

John and Jacob came out on short notice to help fix a capacitor that was causing my AC to not provide cool air throughout my house and I was COOKING without the air flow, I'm talking 90 degrees inside!!! They saved my life, no joke.

In and out, quick and easy fix, were both very kind and personable, easy to talk to, very customer first-oriented which I cannot stress enough is SUCH a breath of fresh air in today's market. I really appreciate them going the extra mile to help out and be such a pleasure to work with. HIGHLY recommended.

We are extremely happy with Ability Air and the new AC installation they just completed for us. John and his team were extremely professional and punctual from the beginning of the quotation to the end result of the full installation and testing. John designed the new system (including ductwork) that resolved numerous faults we had with the old AC system.

The quality of their workmanship is extremely high and the team always left our house clean at the end of each day. The company truly held itself to high standards which is a very rare thing in this day and age. We will not be using any other AC companies after the result of this installation, commitment and workmanship. Everyone was very easy to work with and respectful.

On Monday I contacted Ability Air regarding a non emergency issue with my AC. On the following morning, John and Jacob arrived and were able to immediately identify and address the issue. John and Jacob were very prompt and personable. They explained the issue and the corrective measures they took to fix the problem. My son has also used Ability Air and has been happy with their services. The cost of my repair was good. I highly recommend Ability Air for AC/HVAC issues. Ability Air is our go-to when we need a company that does an excellent job and who we can trust. As a homeowner, it can be tough when vendors come into your home to provide opinions and quotes in knowing who is being honest vs trying to take advantage of you. This is never a concern with this company. We trust John and his team and they always do a great job. They have provided us with great service at different homes we have owned or rented over the years. This year they provided an annual maintenance on both our main AC system and mini split. Living in Florida, these systems definitely need a thorough cleaning and maintenance to keep the air quality high and to extend the longevity of the units. Admittedly, after closing on our current home a couple years ago, I fell behind on getting these units serviced. There was even some nasty mildew/possibly mold that built up in the mini split! Yikes! John and his team took care of everything and we are very satisfied their their help! My husband and I definitely appreciate having Ability Air in Clearwater and wish every service provider was as top-notch!

My wife and I had a dryer issue after business hours, but he answered our call and helped us out. We’ll be using them again for any appliance issue in the future. Definitely recommend.

I am very pleased with the service Toler Mechanical provided. Mr. Toler new right away what the problem was with my home air conditioner and repaired it promptly. I am on his quarterly check up plan now and very pleased with the service. I highly recommend Toler Mechanical!

Darrell came to the house on a relatively short notice he house to perform a spring checkup of our HVAC system. He was very friendly and seemed very knowledgeable of his then his business. He did his job in an appropriate and timely manner, but then he took the time to discuss his findings ( fortunately NO issues ). He was very professional in the mean time also friendly and confident. HUGE SHOUT OUT TO TOLER AIR. Of all days for my air conditioner to take a dump on the 4th of July and 98 degree plus index! They were out to my house within an hour and temporarily fixed my unit - total lifesaver! Been putting off getting a new unit for the last 3 years, but I KNOW for sure who will be doing my new install very soon. I trust this company whole heartedly to give me a great price, get it done quickly and get it done right! Don't wait like I did to take care of your air conditioning needs.
