Just happened onto 5 star when I was looking for heat pump/air handler repair. Chris was very upfront about keeping the system running, not ditching it for an entirely new one if it wasn't needed. He checked on what I needed, had it with him when he showed up, and took time and care in installing it, checking it out and making sure everything exceeded what was considered "acceptable" performance levels.
I am moving to Ocala and will need an entire new system there, and am sorry 5 Star doesn't cover that area. I would call on Chris again in a minute....VERY pleased with the service I received.

In July 2024 my ac is still working. Now over 6 years ago they tryed to rip me off by technician stupidity, Funny thing unit is still working perfectly. . My unit was 5 years and 9 months old when it quit. Buyers beware don't let them ruin your day with their errors.
If they tell you your system is old and best to replace.
Call someone else you will do better with almost anyone else.
I got another opinion and saved 4,000 dollars.
Their technician is either a thief or unqualified for leaving valve closed and telling me the unit was shot.

After calling around for various quotes and dealing with some poor service with previous providers, we stumbled on 5 star and their raving customer reviews. The came out to check our unit two hours after the call and showed up on a Saturday morning at 7am to replace our system so we didn't have to go all weekend in this Florida heat without air. This was exceptional service and quality work. I will be recommending this company to anyone who asks, we couldn't have been more pleased and impressed with their professionalism and attention to ever detail.

Brandon made time to come help us on one of the busiest days of the year. He carefully explained everything that he did, and corrected problems that were undetected and treated by technicians from a previous service provider. I called 5 star after having issues with my heat staying on constantly. I called and Brandon was out within an hour (during the MLK holiday weekend mind you). I was expecting to be jerked around - but pleasantly it was a great overall experience.

It turns out the company who originally installed the heat pump system didn't properly wire the unit. Brandon explained the issue and quickly rewired the unit and got it functioning. He ran a diagnostics on the system and determined that the condenser coils were in need of serious cleaning. The system pressures were out of spec and so he took a video and showed that the coils had been covered in pet hair from the prior owner (we have only been in the house for a year or so)...we decided to proceed. After hours of work we felt the price was more than fair for the high quality service we received. Our system is now fully functioning and operating efficiently.

It's rare to have an unexpected cost arise and not be disappointed, but 5 Star Heating and Air was honest, fair and very reasonably priced. I will use them again for any future repairs or installation of my next HVAC system.

I had another highly rated company out first. He correctly diagnosed the problem but quoted me a repair of over $1000 and quickly reasoned that it would be wiser to replace my 10 year old unit. So I called around and found 5-Star. Chris gave me honest advice over the phone considering the repair option with me before replacement. He came out that day, and really went out of his way to repair it for me at a fair cost. That was almost two weeks ago and it's running fine now, in the heat of summer! Who knows, I might last several more years before replacing it. For me that's well worth it.

For years our home had humidity issues and no one could pinpoint the cause. We tried so many different HVAC companies, but most of them just wanted to sell us a new unit. Brandon from Five Star methodically went through our entire home with a tool to measure moisture and temperature and did a thorough check of our ducting, as well as took apart our indoor and outdoor units to check and clean everything. He made repairs and installed a UV light in our system as well. I'm not sure the extent of everything did, (though he did his best to explain--he said he tends to overexplain things) but for the first time in about 3 years, our home is not humid. I truly cannot say enough about how thorough and conscientious he is. He was especially considerate of our dogs and young children and respectful of our home. His pricing is also fair and he checked back in with us after his work was completed to make sure everything was working well the next day. He's the only person we'll ever call for our AC in the future.

I would recommend Five Star to everyone in need of a new unit or repairs of an old unit. Chris visited a couple of times in the past few years and we were able to keep my unit going until I was able to afford a new one. When I was ready for the new unit Chris came by to double check everything and got the permits the same day. I had my new unit installed and my house was cool by 2pm that day. Awesome job and great guys!

Brandon was very thorough, conscientious and kept me informed throughout the entire process. He diagnosed and resolved the issue as well as recommended services moving forward. Everything was transparent and clearly communicated. Definitely recommend and will call for future issues!

Brandon worked us in today. He was very helpful and kept me informed every step of the repair. When he finished I felt like I could become his assistant. I appreciated the explanations and could see with my own eyes what needed replaced. Good value, good service, GREAT JOB!

I had Five Star Heating and Air (Brandon)come out to my house today and cannot rave enough about what a great job he did. He spent his time and was so conscientious and thorough in all that he did. He was very honest and I could tell that he cared about his work and doing a good job. I had a prompt response back on the telephone and also he arrived on time. I called 5 star because my a/c was not cooling. From the time I called , Brandon kept me up to date of when he would be to my house. When he got here, he kept me informed on everything he was doing. I was truly impressed with he professionalism and he was so friendly. I would recommend 5 star. A father and son business.

My A'C went out last night called after midnight spoke with Brandon. He came out early this morning and inspected the A/C. during the repair he explained and showed me what he was doing/ or going to do. He was very professional and friendly young man. We had an HVAC issue and a time constraint on a recent condo purchase, and Brandon responded immediately when others never returned our call. He was responsive, prompt, courteous, professional, knowledgeable, and extremely meticulous in the work he needed to do. He will be the one we call when needed for HVAC repair.

In March 2016 I had an annual tune up and inspection from the company who installed my complete heating and air unit (inside and out). Two weeks later in April the unit stopped working. I called the company to have them come back to inspect the unit. They did and wanted to charge me for the visit. In which I did not pay, it was about 3 weeks since it stopped working. I was told that I needed a new unit a minimum of $5600. This is when I contacted Five Star Heating and Air!! They took the time to inspect my unit inside and out. Brandon is very detailed and advised me with a diagnosis; part, Freon, and preventive care for a very reasonable price!! I would recommend Five Star to EVERYONE!! They care about the quality of work they do not the quantity!! Call Five Star Heating. They DESERVE their name.

After 40 years I finally found 5 star and Brandon! This man knows AC units like the back of his hand. He was meticulous and found problems left by previous company. He explained each step and wanted me to see everything he was doing. He fixed my issue and did badly needed maintenance. He did not ignore other unrelated problems. You will not regret hiring this exceptional company!

My husband and I recently called Five Star. They were able to make it out the same day as the call. Brandon and his dad are very thorough. Honest. Dependable. They will not try to steer you wrong. The community where we live at also trusts in them and uses them for heating and air needs. We had a issue with our a/c duct runs and return. They talked to us in detail and gave us pricing and we let them do the work. Very reliable.

I’ve made the mistake of trying other companies including those who installed my unit and the ones offering their services at the big orange store. Five Stars, by far offers reliability, really competitive prices and most importantly, honest service. Brandon is a gentleman who twice came to the rescue, fixed my unit and even saved me a few hundred dollars compared to others. It’s difficult to quantify trust and honesty but with these guys, I feel confident that they’re here to help you and won’t take you for a ride. I rarely do online reviews but these guys really deserve the kudos.

Brandon was not only respectful, but also very informative while diagnosing and repairing the issue with our heater. He even brought in a temporary heating unit while assisting us to hold us over while he helped resolve our issues! Almost a week later and our house is still staying warm. Thank you, Brandon!

I highly recommend this company. I was weary of hiring a big name company since being burned in the past, so I’m glad I did my research and found Brandon. He was punctual and thorough. Everything was explained to me very well. I feel like I got excellent service and will use them again in the future.
