We hired Landscape By Design of Palmetto Jaciel and Yarumi. At first they seemed great came out and we had to pay $450 for the design cad which was then applied to the install fee. The design was nice and they installed on time. They sold us some very expensive exotic materials and they will not tell you want each plant costs b/c they are not charging tax. However, some of the exotic palms died very quickly and Jaciel and Yarumi would not stand by the 1 year plant warranty they said they would provide. They became very rude and aggressive with me and talked down to me like I was stupid. Basically, you have to do everything their way or they will not back their work or product. Additionally, they will try and sell you on their maintenance plan which they say extends your warranty. Lastly, Jaciel was extremely rude to my neighbor and told him when he was ready to have his new landscaping fixed he should call him. These people just are not nice and professional.

So I reached out to Landscape By Design of Palmetto via their website on 10/23/25 to inquire about rerouting my existing drip tubing and adding landscaping fabric for our rocks. Surprisingly, I received an immediate response from Yarumi asking me to send her pictures of the area in question. This email was immediately followed up by a phone call/voicemail but I unfortunately was unable to return it due to work obligations that evening. So fast forward to the next day, I decided to return their phone call in hopes that I could talk to either Yarumi or any office representative to better explain the project in question. I want to state, the communication up to this point has been great - very responsive company that seemed eager to gain my business. So I called Yarumi back and a gentleman answered instead (I didn’t catch his name unfortunately but I assume he was either the owner or office manager based on the way he was handling me). I simply explained that I was returning Yarumi’s phone call from yesterday and that I was eager to see how they could assist me on my project for the front lawn. The gentleman was pretty straightforward and explained the pricing very well. He further explained that someone will need to come out and do an initial assessment of the area. Based on the assessment, the price could fluctuate from there. But he assured me that was indeed a project that their team could handle so I stated I wanted to move forward. So after this brief convo and he stated to text the number that I called and provide my name, address and a brief description of what we just talked about. (So far so good up to this point). After we hung up, I proceeded to follow his instructions, text the number that I just called and provide the details of our encounter……And this is how we arrive at the 1-Star review. At the time of this review 11/03/25 there has been no phone call, no text, no email, no one at my house for an assessment…just crickets. I normally would just keep it pushing and find another landscaping company (and there are plenty in Parrish as this new up and coming area). But I have to blast any company that will blatantly ghost me. Weird way to build rapport with customers and gain their business. I am willing to drop screenshots if necessary in case they try to rebuttal - I see how they respond on Google to any adverse reviews.

I’ve wanted to do something with my backyard for a while and when I found Landscapes by Design of Palmetto my instructions were that I wanted a patio surrounded by an oasis. I worked with Yarumi and Jaciel and they definitely delivered. If you hire them you won’t be disappointed.

All in one landscaper! Put royal palms in my backyard. Keith did a great job on my brick driveway we just love it! The stone work and sprinkler system around my pool was a wonderful idea he had along with my wife's flower bed he designed him self from talking to her. He works hard and has an amazing crew. I can't wait to talk to him again about our next project. I will only be using his company for my lawn and garden so glad we found him!!!! 10 for 10 Best landscaper in manatee country!
