Thank you all for doing such a great job!! I have utilized Patterson to service my A/C units for several years now. It is obvious why they have been in business for so many years. They are honest and are really good at what they do... Recently, I had an issue with one of my units, naturally in the middle of the summer. Patterson was my first call for some assistance. As always, they were prompt, courteous, and sent a very knowledgeable technician out to diagnose my problem. They ascertained that the unit was able to be repaired, however due to the age of the system, it made more sense for me to replace the whole unit. Understanding that would be a costly endeavor, they provided me with a temporary fix and encouraged me to research and look around at all of my options. They also helped me understand what made the most sense and didn't try to upsell or push anything that was not needed for my predicament. They asked about likes and dislikes of the old system and deduced that an additional vent should be placed in one of our bedrooms. Naturally, this also made a dramatic difference that I am convinced others probably wouldn't have even asked about. The team that replaced my unit were also top notch individuals! Special thanks to Mike for taking such great care of us! Great job - I will continue to recommend them to anyone in need!

I have used this company for 20 years, but the new AC system they installed last October was driving up my electric bill more than double. They came out and checked out the system at least 4 times and said there was nothing wrong. I called another company to look at it because I knew something had to be wrong. They found out that when the unit in the attic was installed, the wiring was wrong and the heat and air conditioning were running at the same time and that is why I had a $533 electric bill!! Since it was fixed my electric bill is $131.00!! When I asked for some compensation towards my bill for their mistake, it was met with skepticism and none was offered. I will never use them again

The owner of this company is professional, thorough, honest, and reliable. While inspecting my AC system he noticed that it had to be flushed and walked me through the process. American Air Authorities was prompt in reply to my call. They came and determined I didn’t have a mechanical issue with my system. While on site, they performed a thorough inspection of my complete system, cleaned out my lines and adjusted my Freon levels. They were courteous, professional and even wore shoe covers in my house. I will definitely use them again.

Excellent experience. Usually nothing goes well at our house, not today. I called them last night and they came this morning. Didn’t try and sell us all new everything . One part was needed that he had on his truck and we are blowing cold again. Definitely call these guys first. They live here in the neighborhood too.

Michael, one of the owners came over today to give me an estimate for air conditioning and heating on my porch. I cannot rave about him and his company enough. I think he is one of the most honest contractors I have ever met and I would trust him totally to do anything. He describes everything, explains the options and alternatives, and even has the honesty to say if the job is something that he feels would not be suitable or would be too big to handle. I would give him more than five stars if I could! Most companies would do the job, even if it was not recommended, just to earn a buck. Can’t recommend him highly enough.

Wonderful service, our Air was out, not working and American Air came out within 3 hours on a Saturday and unclogged the system and the Air was working within a hour after arriving --great service.

Now if you're a mother of a special needs child like me, you might be a little nervous about having strangers in your home (seriously we have cameras and everything) -and if you've ever had one in your house after hours on an emergency call you're probably familar with the experience of an annoyed maintenance person who makes it clear by their attitude that they have a ton of better places to be than at your house fixing your problems.

Naturally that was the expectation when our AC suddenly went out and we desperately needed it fixed, after hours.

Enter William, he comes walking up our driveway around 8pm, smiles, asks us how we're doing, shakes my husband and I's hands like a southern gentleman should. We could tell right away that this was not experience.

He got right to it, and clearly knew exactly what was needed to be done. A lot of maintenence people we've worked with seemed kinda annoyed that we'd watch them work. He didn't seem phased. Which does a lot to ease the anxiety. He was completely professional, but also so friendly you'd think yourself rude for not offering him a sweet tea.

And that's a lot to ask of someone who's probably missing dinner to come fix your AC. He also was quite thorough. He even checked things we had not thought of just to be sure everything was taken care of for us before he left.

To sum up he was quick, skilled, communicates clearly, and very curteous. What more could you want?

We had our entire air conditioning system replaced in July 2023. Our compressor stopped working in Dec 2024. Called in a tech from Ocean state air conditioning and heating and paid $199 for the estimate as they were the original installer. They provided first estimate of $5500. I called to ask why this high? Then they provided updated estimate of $3800 for labor alone as compressor was under warranty. I thought both these estimates were ridiculous. I called around and found Michael Miller from American Air authorities. He came right away and gave us a free estimate. Worked with Carrier company to get a new compressor and installed it within a day. He was prompt, polite and professional. Texted me when he was on his way. checked to see how the system was working after 2-3 days. I would use the company again and would definitely refer them to anyone for new installs OR fixing the existing one.
