Very budget friendly. Nice gentlemen answered all my questions on the phone and helped me decide how much and what I needed to do my patio in my backyard and delivered within a couple of hours after my call. I will be visiting them again to update my landscaping.

If I could give them zero stars I would! Starting with calling them to set up delivery. Called during normal hours and they were not even able to process my phone call. They said they would call back and never did! So I called back and set up a delivery. I was told they would call before showing up. I was given a 2 hour window of time and they never called or showed up! I called 15 minutes after the 2 hour window to be told AGAIN that they would find out what was going on and once again NO CALL. We ended up going with a better company. Called them back to cancel and was just told OK. Some customer service!!

Ugh. Placed an order (1st time) for a Monday delivery. I get 2 random calls on the Saturday before saying they want to deliver. Ummm, no, I scheduled delivery for Monday. The guy was like oh, okay (?), weird.
I confirm my order to be sure we are on the same page. He asks for my address again. Ok. I confirm the time as well as I make sure they know garden soil.

Delivery day arrives and I don’t know what they brought me but it’s the worst ‘garden soil blend’ ever. Supposed to be ‘Top soil & mushroom compost’. I have never seen garden soil that has chunks of clay, littered with plastics and a bunch of mulch in it. Large chunks of wood, big sticks. Awful.

I call to make sure I received the correct stuff because when I go check my receipt … even my receipt says something else on it. The guy on the phone acts like I never had a garden before 🙄 and I’m clueless. He states it should be “fluffy” …. no, it’s not fluffy, it’s full of chunks of wood, balls of clay, a bunch of plastics and I’m going to have to try & sift it. Ridiculous! Definitely not what I paid for!!!!!!

The guy on the phone starts randomly comparing it to the city compost facility….I have never purchased from there. He just assumed. I DO know what mushroom compost looks like, I know what sifted top soil looks like and what was delivered to me today was NOT a blend of top soil / mushroom compost. Never again, truly a waste of money for this garbage! I wish I had never tried them, I usually purchase from the other side of the water but since Lawn Ventures are only a couple miles away, I figured I would just get my garden soil from them this year. Dumb decision. I will just pay the additional fee to get from a company on the southside. They know wth quality garden soil is.

First time using the facility went back 4 times.The service and products were vast.I spoke with several other customers while being tended too To a person they all stated to me" been coming here for years, great pricing.". I agree wholeheartedly, they have been in business over 30 plus years I think I know why...Great job and when I visit my son I will be using your business.

I was very happy with material quality and service.

Scott is our go-to guy for mulch, topsoil and gravel. Fair delivery rates for bulk orders. Better quality and quantity than Peninsula Hardwood. Drivers are knowledgeable and interact with my customers well. Recommended to all.

Customer Service, Quality of Dirt, and Driver Competence/Friendliness all deserve 5 stars. I received next day service within a specific time window and they were able to get the dirt into a very tight spot. 10 yards. I will definitely use this company again in the future. You should too.

bought mulch last year was real pleased . I checked around their pricing and quality of material is really good. Getting ready to order 8 yards this year delivered. Did I say they were great people to deal with.

Purchased 6 yards of black mulch from this company I’ve used before. While we were installing the much it was turning dark brown and looked exactly like walnut mulch. I called just to let them know and I got a “ I been doing this for 10 years” lecture. Just straight up rude. Told me that’s how their black mulch does. I said black doesn’t turn brown… is simply “trash” mulch. The guy said “I don’t know what to tell you bro” then hung up. My company and everyone I know will NEVER spend another penny at this place. Products and customer service sucks!!!!

We've purchased topsoil from them a couple years in a row. They are friendly on the phone, helpful in recommending products and provide a good product. Really pleased with them. This year we are buying mulch from them as well. Cheaper than buying bag after bag from Lowe's. Happy to work with a local company. Highly recommend them.

Truthfully haven’t even used their services yet, but I reached out today with questions regarding delivery time and a price estimate. The person who answered my questions was patient, kind and informative. I saw positive reviews on the York county 411 Facebook page where I got their recommendation and I couldn’t imagine taking my business to anyone else! I’ll update my review after delivery of mulch.

Update:
Ordering the mulch was easy and I’m not knowledgeable enough to comment on the quality but it seems fine. The delivery driver not only drove through my neighbors flower bed, but part of the mulch dumped into their flower bed so I spent an hour trying to pick medium brown mulch out of black mulch. Moreover, the truck kept rolling so *I* had to get in the truck to hold the brakes while the delivery man opened the gates to dump it. Incredibly unsatisfactory and unsafe.

Probably a fine place to get pick ups from but I’d never have them deliver to my house again.

Great service and great pricing. Delivery driver on time, was exceptionally kind, and professional and dumped the load exactly where I asked. I've used them for pick-up of mulch in the past and will use again. Great service and products.

Top quality mulch and service. Walnut is the best color to showcase your plants. Wouldn’t use anything else. Lasts for about a year. Highly recommend. Scott has been my go to for many years. The best.

We've always gone here for mulch, rocks, sand. Great place, prices and employees are nice and helpful. They load up my truck and off I go. Will continue to use them for all outdoor projects. Well worth ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!

Talked to Mike about a load of Topsoil and sent him the area measurements. Called back and told me how much would be required and the price. Delivered on Wednesday and it’s about as clean and debris’s free as I could possibly ask for. Super clean company to deal with and excellent service. Mulch in the Spring and no
“crying” about it (private joke)!!!🤣🤣

I ordered 3 cubic yards of the 50/50 top soil/mushroom soil Garden Blend this spring to fill raised beds. A lot of it was clay and sand. I also found a lot of plastic in it. I had a very sub par yield with their product and would not recommend it. The overall ordering and delivering process was good.

Got 10 yd³ delivered to my home in Newport News on 5/11/24. Got a wake up call asking if 8:30 AM would work. It did. Driver asked where I wanted it dumped and I told him I wanted half dumped in my side lawn and the other half dumped in the front lawn as he was leaving the yard to reduce the amount of work I had to do. Driver did better than I expected. I didn't think $407 ($15 Military discount) to include delivery was unreasonable. Highly recommend their services to anyone that needs it. A+ service!!!
