Amazing to have an early appointment the same day request for garage door was masses. Nick showed up and explained several options and advantages of replacing the original aged motors and associated arts. I opted to do that and have a year guarantee plus a much quieter and now more dependable garage door opener. Nick estimated job would possibly take up to three hours but got everything (remotes in cars, new springs, new pull chain and track plus outdoor remote for access. Totally satisfied and appreciate the good service with a professional technician with vast expertise. He is definitely an asset to an Elite Garage Door and the customers he helps!

Customers should be aware that they charge $300 for their service call. They didn't tell me this over the phone. When the tech arrived, he said the battery was bad within about 5 minutes of arriving. He said it would be $300 for the service call plus $200 for a Duracell 12V 7aH battery. This battery is widely available online and in stores for $37.

To hear it was $500 to change a battery and he had only been there about 5 minutes made me really sick to my stomach. I told him I could not afford that and was going to try to figure out another way on my own. He said he would knock $100 off the service call to $200. This was still sticker shock but I need the gate to open to access the garage so I agreed and paid a total of $427 after tax. He was in and out in less than 20 minutes. That's a rate of $1200/hour that I was charged for his time at my property.

Everyone's time is valuable, there is drive time to and from my property that tech's should be compensated for and I support small business and want people to make money when they work. Whatever businesses choose to charge is their prerogative but they should let customers know up front that their service calls are $300 so that the customer can accept or decline according to their available funds before the service call is scheduled. I've never had a service call over $95 from anyone whether plumbers, A/C techs, handymen and I have always been told what the service call fee will be before scheduling so I can only blame myself for not asking when they didn't tell me during the scheduling of the service call. Also an over 500% markup over retail for a battery is also something that is hard to comprehend. I can understand even a 3x markup but over 5x was startling.

I did not request an emergency service call or after hours.

Be sure to ask how much the service call will be before scheduling.

Was quoted $2k for new springs in my garage. Called next person. $350 out the door. Complete ripoff of a company. Get other quotes.

    Sad but true :

They say there is no fee to come and give you an estimate but They have a hidden fee of $295.95 for labor..So watch out .

If you accept the estimate this fee is included in your total price.. According to them the description on the paid invoice (Labor to perform work INCLUDE, lubrication, adjustment and service of garage door)

In my case I needed a garage botton seal $ 239.20 plus the hidden fee 295.95. and all charges were not discussed or explained to me after the fact. The tech gave me the total amount without explaining it to me.

I just wanted the bottom seal replaced but they charge me 295.95 more. The problem was that They did not lubricate the door, adjusted or service the door as it says . The tech left me two bottles of lubricant almost empty for me to lubricate the door

I call the office and we tried to work things out. They were sometimes rude and they wanted to reinburse me only $40 of the 295.95. I feel that it was not fair.I hope this review helps them to retrain technicians, and be more clear with those hidden fees.

UP DATE: I was contacted by Michelle and she spoke to his manager and gave me a refund for 147.98 half of the 295.95 fee. I am grateful that they were fair and honest with me.Thank you Michelle and the manager.

So far I’ve had the employee come and assess. I decided to move forward with replacing the existing garage door. They require 70% down. The employee was very knowledgeable and did a great job explaining the options. I have no idea when the door will be installed. I was hoping to hear about the installation after the order was placed but I had to call about it but they have no idea. They are waiting to hear from the manufacturer (for a standard door). I’m feeling uncomfortable having given 70%. Unfortunately, Elite took over what used to be Precision. Precision was so much easier to work with.

We called them to replace a damaged guide bar. They showed up, bent it with their hands and charged our babysitter over $500 she reported to us and we couldn’t believe it. I could have done what they did myself. They have terrible customer service. I’ve called four times left my information with a rep, without anyone returning a phone call. Elite garage door is not morally or ethically run nor do they care about their customer’s satisfaction. We feel bamboozled and robbed

This company provided me with my best estimate including a 10 year warranty on working parts of my garage door. Devon was a hard and fast worker, an excellent communicator, respectful, showed me what he was doing along the way, and had the parts with him and did the work right away. By the time he left I also knew how to take care of the garage door to help it last longer.
This is a really excellent company that you should try for yourself.

The technician did a great job of explaining my options and pointing out other future problems I could have with my garage door. After replacing the old parts I was surprised to see how worn they were and glad I went with his recommendations. He was fast… great attention to detail and made sure the door was correct by running multiple times.

    Update!
My new garage door was installed a month earlier than promised. The tech was Adrian and he was very nice, respected my time deadline, and did a thorough job. I still had to ask the office for an invoice from the down payment and amount due, but she emailed it right away. They sent me a link to pay the balance so Adrian & I didn’t have to mess with that when he finished.

Hopefully I can amend this review and change the star rating, but so far I’m not impressed. My technician Juan was excellent, but he was not allowed to just fix my door for a fee. He had to sell me a whole new door which I did need, but at 7:30 PM I really didn’t want to think about just then. After buying a $2500 door 5 days ago I STILL have not gotten a receipt or invoice. I had to call them 3 times to find out when the delivery/install would be, only to be told 5 weeks! That seems excessive and I would have shopped around if I had known that. Again, I’m open to changing my rating, but they better send me the invoice for starters!

The response to repair my garage door was close to immediate. And then there was Jared! The most competent service technician I have ever experienced. I highly recommend Elite for all of your garage door needs!!!

Elite garage door was excellent in responding to my urgent door repair needs. I called at 6p and Juan showed up at a little after 7pm. The broken spring was in need of replacement and I upgraded my opener also which was a decade past it expected life. The service was excellently performed by Juan and he thoughtfully explained all the issues he observed and my options for repairs.. He also said he said he could complete the job that evening which was very convenient for me so I would not have to take off time from work. He also helped me set up the tech features with my new system and I could not be more pleased with the professionalism and services provided. 5 stars to Elite and Juan!

I like the techs photo attached to their text. You know who's at the door.
I like that a tech was here within 5hrs.
However, the price of the parts are to much high! Over $300 for springs, over $150 for 16ft of cable. Not to mention around $300 for installation. Especially when the parts on line are a fraction of their parts cost.

The charge for their service [battery replacement] was extremely overpriced! A multiple of what should be reasonable. I am angry that they would do this to a loyal repeat customer. When our service contract ends I will not renew.

Love our new doors. Very detailed technician and knowledgeable. Estimate was good and stress free. one person installed both doors. installer was here all day into dark time. i did not realize only one installer BUT he was awesome and thorough. I will take that over fast and not as thorough 😉 Overall experience was top. The separate company who painted the doors was on time, could be a little more customer friendly, but that’s our preference. Keep up the good work Elite and retain your employees who did the install and sale!!

Really great experience working with the girls in the office they had a tech out same day to fix my problems! Tech was super nice and efficient absolutely recommend if you have any problems with your garage door!

I would advise to be careful and shop around if possible. We had a tech come out for a garage door that would only open/close intermittently. I assumed it was the belt as it showed visible fraying but without inspection the tech advised that we needed a whole new system (based on age) with a price range of $1200-$1500. After thanking him, I purchased a new belt off of Amazon and fixed it within 30min. The lack of inspection and high pricing screams predatory to me.

I used this company 3 years ago. I received a call this past Thursday, 3 years from the time I had them install a new spring. The message they left said I owed them $1400 because I didn’t pay the bill 3 years ago. This is absolutely crazy! They threatened to take to collections. I had to prove to them that I paid the bill. Of course my records did show I paid the bill the same day of service. 3 years ago! Who operates a business like this?! Who threatens people without doing their own homework?! DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS!!!

Don came out ON TIME based off of the estimated time’s arrival, sent a message when he was on the way. He was super informative about what the problem was and what was needed. 10/10 recommend this company for any opener needs. Don was great! Ask for him specifically. I’ll be getting with them for this repair and anything that comes up in the future. You guys earned a lifetime customer

I will never use this company based on driving skills of one technician. No warning no apologies simply came from the farthest left lane and nearly took my front bumper off with his company Tundra. Thankfully no damage was done but his careless driving could mean he’s careless about other things such as repairing/replacing garage doors and gates. Next time, slow down, you had more than enough time to safely change lanes. Don’t be so aggressive, it looks bad on the company.

I had Elite Garage out for repairs and was charged close to $7k, which I later learned was significantly above fair pricing for the work that was done. Parts were extremely overpriced even though labor was also billed separately.

When I contacted the manager about both the cost concerns and workmanship problems, he showed zero interest in helping. His only focus was that I had paid and signed the invoice. He said any further work, including fixing the problems left behind, would just result in more charges.

Another professional inspected everything afterward and confirmed I was overcharged and even told to replace something that was still working fine.

Friendly technicians, but the business practices feel dishonest and focused solely on revenue, not customer service. I would not recommend Elite Garage.

Elite provided excellent service for a hung garage door emergency. I was impressed with their willingness to rearrange their schedule to accommodate my urgency (I was leaving Sedona for six months that night on a red eye to Boston!). And the young man who came to evaluate and repair the door was polite, well spoken and very accomplished. In the end, he rebuilt the panels to temporarily provide a garage “door” while a new one is being built and installed in 3-6 weeks. Not the cheapest solution, but so far Elite Door is the best! Highly recommend them.
