My first appointment with Carter and Sons HVAC. Had appt originally scheduled for Monday. My wife and I were really burning up in our condo on Friday and my wife says "see if they can come today." I called C&S and spoke to Katie who was very friendly! Unbelievably, she worked us in on Friday between 3-5. I got home from work around 3 and waited and waited. Got to be 4:25 and I get a text from Zac saying he was on his way.
Zac got here right at 5. Very nice young man. We had a great chat while he worked on my unit. Turns out I just needed some refrigerant. Happy day! I am definitely happy I found C&S. I used Shumate for many years and they gave me great service, but I just felt like I wanted to try a new company. I know I found a great one! Thanks Zac and Katie for your great service, patience with all of my questions (Zac) and kind demeanor. I definitely recommend Carter & Sons!

I like that they are local to Smyrna. When I called someone picked up promptly and was able to setup a convenient time for my maintenance appointment. The tech that was sent out was polite and knowledgeable and went through my system with me and provided a scorecard for how the system was. I will continue to use Carters and Sons for my HVAC Maintenance.

Update: still the best! They did maintenance and were timely and communicative. Thorough and professional, can't praise them enough.

From Ryan's awesome service, to Dave's thorough work, and the entire staff, from installers to front desk and billing, we're communicative, friendly, and treated me like a community member, not just a customer.

Darrin and Mac were excellent help and solved my AC unit problem quickly and effectively. I’m extremely happy they were able to assist.

Carter & Sons is phenomenal! We had an issue arise over the weekend and they were able to come out almost within 24 hours of us calling and making the appointment. Adam was our tech. He explained the issue, what he did to fix it and ensured everything was in proper order before he left. We have older units we’re trying to lengthen the life of, but we will be using Carter & Sons when we’re ready to replace them. Could not recommend them enough!

Elijah was great. He quickly figured what the issue was with my AC unit and had it running in no time. Excellent service and answered all my mundane questions.

Our technician, Zac, arrived at our home promptly and conducted himself in a very professional manner. Not only did he diagnose the issue with our HVAC system, but he also efficiently fixed the problem, which turned out to be one of the dampers. Zac even provided us with a plan to replace the other dampers that will need replacing soon. His expertise and dedication truly make him an amazing technician and a fantastic representation of Carter & Sons. I am thrilled with the service we received and will definitely be using Carter & Sons for all of our HVAC needs in the future. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of top-notch HVAC services!

Ryan and Mac were my technicians. They were extremely professional and explained in detail what was wrong. I highly recommend this company and plan to use them in the future.

One of the worst experiences I've had. I very rarely give bad reviews but these guys agreed to put in a permitted system, as part of a major reno. There were several issues with the installation. The biggest issues were that their techs damaged the drywall ceiling and cost over a thousand bucks in repairs. Their response was "well we figured you were just going to replace it anyway since it's a remodel". No.... I was not, and I don't understand how that is something you wouldn't think to ask.... And the worst part was that they left it on me to coordinate with the inspector. That was never part of the deal. So I had to stay home from work and wait for the inspector to come, and when he came, try to get the AC company over as quickly as possible because Carter and Sons wouldn't wait. The first three or four times the inspector came, said they should've been waiting for him, and gave me a fine that I had to pay for failing the inspection and left. Finally Carter and Sons met with the inspector and finished the job but I would have saved thousands going with another company.

This was our 3rd summer having issues with one of our HVAC units constantly freezing up when it got hot outside (+85F). The past 2 summers another company came out to try and diagnose/fix the problem with some guesses that did not end up working. We went with Carter and Sons and Ryan came out and pretty quickly was able to identify what the problem was and schedule a real fix to the problem with the TXV valve. He even made sure I got a good price with the family and friends discount where I actually saved some money overall with that instead of just paying for the repair outright. And I get 2 more visits over the next year for maintenance!

Highly recommend Carter and Sons and Ryan is a great tech with them. Highly recommend both.

Today Elijah came out and tuned up our system. He was super friendly, let us know what he was doing and why, cleaned up after himself and let us know he was done.

Booking an appointment was easy. Darrin was on time and clean (used shoe covers in the house)! He provided a thorough review/state of the equipment. Highly recommend. Carter and Sons will be my HVAC contractor of choice.

Excellent service! Showed up quickly and on time, Darrin was super friendly and polite, and he fixed our A/C in no time. He also explained the problem so I could understand it, showed photos of the issue before and after, and advised me on a few maintenance things we could do to keep it running well. Five stars!

I was very impressed by Carter & Sons—set up an appointment online for the next business day, Zac came promptly and was very professional and courteous. I needed a maintenance service call on my two A/C units and he did that, clearly explained the state of my system and next steps. There were text messages to alert me prior to the appointment, including one with a picture of the technician, which I appreciated having ahead of time. I would absolutely recommend this company and will use them again when I need HVAC service. Very pleased!

This is hands-down one of the best companies to work with. Darren and Mac came to our home today to trouble-shoot an issue we've been having for many months.
