I had extensive deterioration of mortar work on three chimneys and A-1 Chimney restored the exterior and installed new and improved chimney caps. As good as this was I have in addition high regards of the chimney specialists, they were pleasant, knowledgeable and caring.

I would've given a five star but after asking 2x for them the send me a receipt for the stainless steel cap on chimney and I never did get it. It was $1,000.+ dollars. As far as the work on all the services they were outstanding.

A guy came in my apartment on Zierdt road and cleaned my chimney and I have wasps and a nest inside and outside my door. I have a twelve year old son and just survived breast cancer and radiation treatments. I would appreciate it if he told me wasps are a possibility and I would have said no. I explained to my manager the maintenance guy said my apartment was the only one infested with wasps and she replied it's because I never used the fireplace. I'm very upset and I think you are liable if my son or I get stung. You should have the people ask questions first.

A-1 Chimney was the only company we could find willing to come out and create/install a flue for our new wood burning stove. They did a great job in a timely manner! Then they came back to hook up our wood burning stove when we were ready for that. I couldn't be happier with the job they did for us!!

Was referred to A1 after Sootmasters blew me off twice. Waited all day for the time that was scheduled and no one ever showed up. Finally decided to call, turns out that they supposedly never had an appointment scheduled for me. This is ludicrous because I clearly had scheduled an appointment with them almost a month in advance and had written down the date and time exactly as was quoted. I even have the same number that I called on September 25th of this year and they basically said "oops there's nothing we can do, we are booked up until January". I will never even think to use their services ever again and I encourage any other person to seek chimney services elsewhere as well, lest you end up like me waiting for an entire month and getting nowhere.

A-1 Chimney came out quite a few years ago to inspect the chimney in over 100 year old Victorian home . We really wanted a wood burning fireplace ! They gave us a couple of options to be able to use it safely . We decided on having them put in an insert which completely covers the inside walls. Since then , we have them out every couple of years for cleaning . They do a wonderful job of inspecting , cleaning , taking pics and leaving no mess .

Mason came out to check my fireplace for new gas logs. He was knowledgeable, professional, on time, and the price was fair. I'll definitely use them to install the new natural gas logs.

Tanner and Kyle saved the day! I am so appreciative for the time they took to brainstorm a solution so the ginormous surround that made my fireplace look like a chalkboard won't be necessary! (The salesperson did not tell me about this huge, chalkboard-sized surround. The sales technician also didn't mention that the fan would be audible along with a sort of annoying hum. For the amount of money we spent on this system, it would have been nice if he had been clear about how exactly it would look) Anyway, thanks Kyle & Tanner!! You two are the best! My husband and I are (now) so happy with how it looks...it even makes up for the annoying fan noise. Be sure to ask for Tanner and Kyle as they are awesome! And the company should thank them as they are the reason I didn't (justifiably) lose it. Bonus: Tanner also removed a regulator that our contractor's folks had installed inside our house after explaining the dangers of that (gotta love Alabama codes)!

Superb Customer Service.. explained what was done in detail, very thorough in cleaning process. I can’t remember my specialists name. However, I want to let management know that I was extremely satisfied with his knowledge and professionalism. It’s hard to find good customer service lately.

The technician that inspected and cleaned my chimney provided excellent customer service. He was very articulate in explaining the service provided, and potential issues that will need to be addressed in the future. I will be calling them back for future services.

A-1 repaired our chimney and installed a gas fireplace insert last year. This year they showed up promptly to clean and evaluate our insert. They are very responsive to customer concerns and worked with us on all aspects of the project.

Our chimney specialist was prompt and professional. They reminded us a week prior to our appointment and again when the specialist left for our home, day-of. They were careful too guard my home of mess and dirt, and they were friendly throughout the visit. Will definitely use again.

On July 01, 2022, Preston and Quintin cleaned our fireplace chimney and inspected it with a video camera. They did an excellent job and presented themselves as very professional and friendly. My wife and I also loved that we could see their video camera footage to see for ourselves how great a job they did! She was especially impressed, as was I, to see how beautifully clean they got our stainless steel chimney from top to bottom. We loved their excellent efforts so much that we will switch from our previous chimney sweeping company (who doesn't have a video camera) to Preston & Quintin at A-1 Chimney Specialists for all of our future chimney sweeping needs. Thank you guys!!

Gerritt Klein did a great job cleaning our chimney. We have a very heavy grate in the back and he lifted it with ease and cleaned everything! Very impressed with Gerritt. Terrific work ethic, professional and efficient!

Preston and his coworker did an outstanding job with our chimney inspection. They were very knowledgeable and provided excellent customer service. They answered all of our questions and did not try to up sell us on things that were not needed. I will definitely continue to use their service annually for inspections and any other work. I would 100% recommended them to anyone that needs work done on their fireplace.

Perfect team for the job. Needed a new chimney chase (the metal sheeting around the flue sticking up through the chimney). They provided the quote and proceeded to do the job within two weeks, they had to make the chase. Not only did they repair the chase but informed me that the contractor that had installed vinyl siding on our house failed to side one side and instead nailed a large piece of flashing. They were kind enough to use some left over siding that I had and finished the job right making sure the siding was installed all the way under the chase.

Very professional, outstanding job, and they found a problem that the other company we were using didn't find after some storm damage that happened about 3 years ago. Highly recommend.This is the company located in Winchester, TN. I called the one in Huntsville after the storm damage and they wouldn't even look at it.

We just purchased our home in December and we could not get info from the sellers regarding proper cleaning and maintenance of the fireplace in the home. We decided before we used it, it would be best to have it cleaned (if needed) and inspected. The book time in winter is crazy busy and I believe it was about 60 days out, but given the season this is normal. Preston and Mason showed up on schedule even calling ahead to let me know they were on their way. They were polite, professional and took time to answer my questions (which I asked a lot). They cleaned the chimney, inspected it and addressed potential future concerns (issues that for now are ok but if left overtime would become a problem). I appreciated this as it gives me time to prepare to get them addressed. They did not sell me on anything not needed and provided pictures of the areas of concern. I highly recommend this company. Everyone should do annual maintenance on their chimneys/ fireplaces if they use them in winter. The price was fair for the work and service performed and We have zero complaints. Highly highly recommend!

Mason was professional, efficient, and extremely knowledgeable. He went the extra mile to educate us on how to maintain a clean fireplace. I will recommend him to friends and would only want Mason to return the next time we need to clean and inspect our fireplace.
