Chad Perkins performed an inspection on my fireplace after I had paid a different chimney company to inspect during my home buying process.
Perkins caught a critical safety item which the other inspector had missed and corrected the previous inspection on the nature of my fireplace surround material—that is, the material was approved decorative sheet rock, not combustible shiplap that had to be torn out and replaced. (note: these were not just a “differences of professional opinion”; the senior inspector at the other company later concluded their first team had made a mistake…that’s the trouble of dealing with larger companies!)

For the remaining items that needed attention, Perkins quoted me a fair price and did good work. Chad also offered great general advice and tries very hard to educate his customer. Fully recommended.

Our fireplace was leaking when it rained, and Chad came out to estimate repairs. We ended up needing step work on our chimney, a new crown and caps, and everything needed to be sealed. Jordan and Miguel performed the work over several days. They did a spectacular job and were super nice guys. We now have peace of mind using our fireplace and no more leaks! I would not hesitate to use them again. Very reliable and professional for a fair price.

They have always been professional. I asked them to evaluate a home fireplace of a house we recently purchased (I used Perkins at our last home) they told me what was wrong and corrected the issues. I ordered a set of firelogs and they installed with minimal disruption. I completely trust them.

Chad came via his association with the NS Railroad, and the Coal and Woodburner Shop. He attended to the cleaning of our existing fireplace and, thereafter, to the installation of a new Buck Stove insert that had been purchased there. We had no complaints at that time.

Sadly, I returned to their business to have Chad attend to the replacement of our current surround, and to obtain proper measurements for the ordering and installation of a new chimney cap we found on the Woodland Direct website. This process began around February or March of this year (when there was still snow on the roof, and the initial appointment needed to be postponed). Perkins has yet to produce accurate measurements or a suitable drawing for submission to Woodland Direct, so they can attend to the fabrication of the chimney cap we selected. Why? Is this how you'd like for YOUR home left?

Wonderful job! They pulled in the driveway at 2:10 pm cleaned my chimney and fireplace and left at 2:30 pm. I will definitely recommend Perkins to all my friends and family! Have a great day! James Ramirez

Jeremy did a great job fixing the rotting top of hour chimney. He was on time, efficient and went beyond our expectations. The metal chimney topper did not need to be replaced. He was able to paint it and make it look new again. Most companies would have charged us for a new one. Jeremy saved our old one and saved us money in doing so. He custom made a new cap for the chimney (one that water would run off of rather than pool up on) and it is stainless steel. He replaced the rotting wood and painted it for us. Today it poured rain and not a drop of water came down the walls into the house!!! Job well done. I would recommend Tiny Tom.

My fiance made an appointment on a Tuesday for Saturday at 9am. On Saturday at a quarter to 9, a young guy called asking if he could come after 11:30. No, our appointment is for 9. How about 10:30? No, we have things to get done today, hence 9am appointment. How about 10am? ....Ugh ok, no later than 10. Well, come nearly 10:30, still no show. We call the office, explain issue. We're met with a sigh & rude response. He has to "find out where his crew is" and get back to us. We have no time for this and are now running late, so we call back to cancel. Guy in office just says "Ok, fine," and hangs up on us. Will never attempt another appointment. Very rude & unprofessional.

They have been giving us the runaround for over a year now on fixing a repair for the Third time in 5 years. The first two repairs didn't last 2 years. Now we have a feeling they will never come out again even though we are told one story after another. It's been over a year.

Fast response and ability to schedule an appointment within a couple days. Employee was professional, did a thorough job and cleaned up afterward. Would recommend without hesitation.

Told them what I needed to have done, scheduled appointment for 5pm. Showed up about 30 minutes late and said that the appointment should have been during the day. Came back unexpectedly the following week, left without notice. No quote given. Emailed to follow-up and was told I would hear back the next day . Didn't. Emailed again, was told that they still didn't have my quote. Waste of time.

Horrible job done by these guys.I had a quote from 3 companies and pick Tiny Tom.That was a bad decision on my part.My cap,was not as i was told it was going to be,we had inside repair in our fireplace and door was broken by installer and he sold us on inside panel but failed to tell us the bottom is all cracked as well.Now i have to have one of the other companies come out to fix things right.Sad and i would Not recommend these guys to anyone.

Absolutely don't use them. Twice I took off work for the set time of appointment. They called both times to cancel minutes before set time. Then they called a couple of different days saying we'll be at your house in less than an hour and never even called before hand to set up an appointment. They just wanted to call me to let me know they were coming to my house.. "Unacceptable" Took the damper out of my chimney then could not replace because they ordered the wrong parts. Did a horrible job "fixing" the outside of the chimney. Now looks like a quarter of my chimney was just stuccoed. Then turned around and said they could only do so much. Every time they did show up to do the job they couldn't complete it or had some other excuse of wrong parts. Promised other work to be done and did not do it. Work is still not done. I don't even have a damper in my chimney now because they took it out and didn't replace it. All of this mess started back in October. Soon as they got half of their money they did not show back up and did not replace the parts they took out of my chimney. My wife and I have been polite and tried to work with them in every way we could. Just don't bother using them!

I can't believe there are so many 5 star reviews. I called them for an inspection and cleaning. They didn't clean it because they said it needed 3500$ in repairs. I called another company for a second opinion and they said everything was fine, they cleaned it and replaced a rain cover for about 500$ and now I warm and toasty with 3000$ still in my pocket.

These guys just left my house a few minutes ago, and the first thing I wanted to do is get on here and leave them a review. They showed up early to clean my chimney, worked fast, and they were very professional and personable. They did a good and complete job, and explained everything they were doing. The service was what really stood out though. I appreciate good service and will definitely be using them again next time I need a chimney sweep.

Tiny Tom's service was great. We got an honest evaluation of our chimney and fireplace and some other work that was recommended. The service man arrived on time and was very compliant with COVID safety portocol.
