I’ve used the transfer station regularly for years as they are close to home. We took my little 5 X 8 trailer with a loose load of limbs in and was charged $34 for 2 yards. Way too much. I think from now on I’ll do something else.

Hmm, a review for a landfill transfer station. Ok. Been here a few times now. Good place to bring construction waste. Or anything worthless obviously. Well, it's easy and absolutely no dumb bureaucracy. Tell them what you have and how much and they determine the price. It's always fair and accurate. Back in to the stall and unload your waste. The people that work there are friendly and direct well. It's easy to figure out and intuitive. And the giant bulldozers pushing trash into the building are loud and fun to watch..

I have lived in Meridian for almost 20 years and have used the transfer station many times. I have always thought they were a little expensive, but my last trip through will be literally my last time using their services. I took a few old fence slats a rusted out old wheelbarrow and 5 buckets from planting some trees in my yard. 3 of the buckets were 5 gallon tree buckets and a couple of 2-3 gallon buckets. I had filled the buckets with weeds rocks, bark, and sod from reworking my flower beds. The attendant said he would need to charge me $41 due to the sod and rock in the buckets. The minimum was a one yard charge. $41 DOLLARS FOR A FEW BUCKETS OF BARK AND ROCKS!!!! What ripoff!! My truck can only hold a half a yard of rock if I fill the whole truck bed. How do I know? Because I just bought 1/2 yard of compost for my flower beds, and it only cost me $13. So I could buy almost 3 truck loads of compost for the cost of disposing a few buckets of yard waste.😳 What a Joke!

I use a lot of services from Republic. Curb Side service, transfer station, and household hazardous waste. The employees are always friendly and provide good customer service. The garbage truck drivers spread trash all over the neighborhood and don't bother to pick anything up. The transfer station is so inconsistent with their charges I never know if I am going to pay 5.00, 11.00, or 9.00 or more. I know they eyeball my load and guess how much I have but a scale system would be more fair and consistent. The hazardous waste collection is amazing and I absolutely appreciate this service available on Mondays.

Just tried to dump a bunch of of cardboard boxes but they were going to charge me because I was in a vehicle with a logo on it. None of the boxes were from my small business. They were all from wedding gifts and from moving to the area. Have some common sense and courtesy republic non-services.

Trash pickup is terrible. Don't expect them to pickup the trash if the lids are not fully closed. Apparently they are considered overfilled even with an empty tote on top of the bags. Never seen a trash company that is incapable and so incapacitated to do their actual job. Terrible! Thier excuse is they don't want trash to fall out when picked up. Well I have seen enough times where trash flies out of people cans even with the lid closed. It not about the damn lid. It's about the proper bagging. Get outta here with your lame excuses and do your job.

Great service by a very considerate driver! I live in South Meridian, ID and had forgotten to put my trash and recycling out last night. I remembered this morning when I heard one of the trucks. I was hurriedly getting things ready and had just opened my garage door when the recycling truck was passing by my house. I thought "oh well - will just have to wait until next time". But, he saw me, stopped, backed up and got out of his truck and even helped me get my recycling to the truck! I didn't expect that and he certainly did not need to do that. Wish I would've gotten his name so I could mention him specifically. Kudos to Republic and to this specific gentleman!

Had to do a large cleanout this weekend with the very very firm deadline of Sunday....Dumpster wasnt delivered until amost the end of the day, and when we went to see where they had dropped it, it wasnt anywhere NEAR the VERY SPECIFIC instructions we gave them to drop it. 75 freaking yards and on the wrong side of the property. We should not have to pay full price when youve made MY job 5x harder and were doing it by HAND without equipment

Horrible customer service. The pick up guys kept breaking my trash bins and then would write me a note telling me they couldn’t pick up the trash because it was broken from the previous week. I called Republic Services no less than five times and it still took a month to receive a new bin. The transfer station is even worse. They tried to charge me for 5 cubic yards of waste. I’m not sure how 5 cubic yards of waste fits into a 5.5 ft bed? I’ve never been able to accomplish that feat before.

Took our truck with a couch, vacuum, about 6 cardboard empty boxes and a very small tote to the transfer station and they charged us basically for 2 full truck loads. Over $40 bucks when it should have been $22. The women their are complete idiots. Pretty much stealing money from you... Next time we'll go up the hill to the landfill!!!!

They come to my apartments on different days but always around 6-7 in the morning! Isn't there a better way to route your trucks so you don't wake up entire communities? You can't tell me there isn't stores and businesses that are closed that can be taken care of before you wake everybody up! Do better

So I found out that you can't just "throw away" old televisions. I put my old 27-inch ridiculously heavy in the back of my hatch-back and took it over to the Hazardous household materials area there at the transfer station (only available on Mondays from noon to 7pm) and I didn't even have to get out of my car. The guy opened the back of the car and carried the TV away. It was great! So nice to dispose of that thing responsibly.

I had forgotten to take my recycling bin out last night and I woke up to the sound of their truck driving by. I quickly ran my recycling bin outside assuming it was too late, but they saw me and stopped to take it for me anyways! They're the best!
Also, we have taken cardboard boxes and landscaping debris to the site multiple times and they are always very helpful.

My fiance, her father and I use this place often. We use it for dumping construction materials, yard waste and appliances. This place is expensive. They are a TRANSFER station, so all materials are handled here then transferred to the dump I am assuming. Which would explain the cost. The best thing about this place is convenience...except on Monday. They tend to be busy as hell, so expect to wait. We do recycle a lot of appliances and metal here, along with cardboard. No waiting in line for that! Unless is Monday and you are out in the street waiting. I would reccomend going to the canyon county dump. It out there! You can dump a trailer full at the transfer station for about 45-75 dollars for convenience or about 12 bucks at canyon county. Non residents do pay a little more i believe. Glad they are there but..DAMN get your piggy bank out!

What a Dump! but in a good way. I like republic as an outfit in general but this locationjin meridian has recently changed to charging by weight instead of by the yard. it's a bit cheaper for sure and the crew is pretty dam competent. pleasant change from a year or two back when I left a scathing review after I got some extremely substandard service. this is an updated review as of Jan 2026, and you can trust this review cuz I was red hot smokin pissed the last time I left there but somebody higher up in the company must have seen the same problems and they got this place turned in the right direction. so ...

Have been here plenty of times. Easier to just make a trip and drop off a load here locally than having to take it out to the landfill etc. recycle cardboard, glass, metal, etc

It was $17 for me to unload my short truck bed full of carpet and plastic toys. I didn't have to wait long and everything was well organized.

I'm glad they kept the ground clean. I didn't feel like I would pop a tire because of a nail or sharp object.

    Very satisfied!

It's amazing to me that so many people are quick to leave a bad review when they have one experience that doesn't please them. Personally I have been using Republic Services and the transfer station for 20 years and am grateful I don't need to drive all the way from Meridian to the dump off hill road. Their prices are fair, especially if you are bringing in wood or other recyclables. And leaves are free for several weeks during the fall season. All their people, including truck drivers, have always been helpful and friendly. There's no such thing as a business that does everything so perfectly that no one complains. But from my perspective, these folks are doing a difficult job extremely well and I'm thankful to have them.

Service is good and they are always friendly when you call them, BUT getting what you need is going to depend on who you talk to over the phone.
I remember calling them in the past to request an additional trash bin for one of my properties. The bin was overflowing well after week. It was a simple problem with a simple solution. So I called to request a second bin and was basically told no…in a friendly and polite manner. So afterwards I noticed that some of the neighbors had dual bins and a few days later I decided to call again. That time I got someone else on the phone who said “no problem…” and that was taken care of.
A few years later at one of my other properties I developed the same problem. Too much trash. So I called once again and I again was told that they couldn’t do that because of this and that reason. So again I waited a few days and called. Again…I spoke with somebody else and quickly, I was able to get a second bin.

Have a truck full of trimmings and arrived a minute too late to dump. Gate person stated he had closed his til and wouldn’t let us in. Other employee directed us to proper location as the gate had changed its location since we used your services last. We had just received a call to drive to Snowville to get a family member that just totaled their truck and needed a ride. Seriously no accommodations whatsoever? Not a happy customer.

Over the last 6 months, I have had to spend too much time on the phone because of "missed" pickups. After calling, setting up a new date, even then it isn't picked. I even called when they said to be open..."call back when we are open". This shouldn't be necessary.
