Electrical reviews in Chicago, Illinois

During an inspection for our home remodel we discovered our electrical panel wasn’t properly grounded according to current code. We reached out to Highlights based on their good reviews. They were very responsive and Boz gave us a quick and accurate estimate. The work was scheduled within a few days and completed in one day. Boz and another electrician were excellent- they were able to creatively place the electrical inside our walls with minimal drywall repairs needed. They also installed a new outlet for us. We’ve been very pleased with their work and we passed the new electrical inspection. We very highly recommend.

I needed to upgrade my electrical service from the pole to the house. ComEd would not do it until I got updated risers and weatherheads on my front house and my coach house. Highlights came recommended from a friend. They were great! Boz came out the day after I called to give me a quote, and we were scheduled within a week. The guys were polite and clean and got the work done a few hours earlier than they said. The best part was I didn't have to deal with ComEd at all-Highlights handled everything and now I have updated, safe electrical service! Highly recommended.

We had two new 240 circuits installed. The warm and friendly owner (Boz) came and explained the best way to proceed, and sent us an estimate later the same day. The personable work crew (Cristóbal, Oscar, and César) worked conscientiously, keeping the dust to a minimum, explaining the work, and making the whole project go smoothly. Big thanks to all of them! Highly recommended!

These guys are awesome! Quick and easy turnaround with an estimate. Very fair and competitive pricing. Quick scheduling. Chris, Cesar, and Ulises came out today and installed an EV charger in our garage. In the dead of winter, they dug a trench by hand! Completed the job exactly as estimated and explained everything they did to me. They were very professional, efficient, and friendly. They even swept the basement floor in their work area! I have used Highlights Chicago before and will continue to use them and recommend them. Thanks for a great job.

It is quite hard to find "good" contract work. It is even harder to find "good" contract work done by really nice and genuine people. Juve and Marin, two electricians from Highlights Chicago, came to complete a project at my property and they were absolutely delightful. They were respectful and aware of all of the rules that needed to be followed in high rise buildings, they were extremely patient navigating the tough parking situation, elevator challenges, and back and forth trips to bring materials and tools from their vehicles to the 4th floor unit. They spent ample time not only answering all of my questions but walking me through the process so that I was becoming educated about what was happening along the way. They did a phenomenal job with the actual electrical work, replacing a full electrical panel, several outlets in the kitchen and bathroom, and moving light fixtures. They go above and beyond what you would expect for electrical work. To add to the great experience, Bozidar, the managing director at Highlights, was exceptional in following the progression of the project with kindness and expertise. I am so pleased with the care and craftsmanship the entire team provided. I would highly recommend using them for all of your electrical needs. Very grateful! Thank you, Highlights!

Raul and Oscar did a great job installing some new light switches for us, as well as helping with installation of a fixture. They found some unique challenges/ways we had to adjust, including the need to open up the wall more than we might have expected given some issues with our boxes. Along the way, Raoul was very communicative about what we needed to do, pros and cons, and what he would recommend, which allowed us to make good decisions in real time.

Leading up to the appointment, Boz and Iva were also very communicative in quickly getting us a quote and understanding exactly what we wanted done. I was very happy with their communication and how quickly we were able to get our project done. Will definitely reach out again for future needs.

Excellent process end-to-end! I will recommend and use these guys for all of my electrical needs going forward.

I needed to upgrade my garage to 220 and have an EV installed and Boz and his team did a great job specing the project and following through on their plan. They were smart and considerate about the most efficient to run the lines through my yard to the garage.

Other companies that came to review the job either suggested the copout strategy of running an overheard wire (dangerous and not up to code I've learned) or a complex operation that involved breaking up my concrete walkway (and having to hire someone else to repair it!). The Highlights team were thoughtful about their approach and figured out a plan that was the least invasive path and utilized their skillsets of trenching and running pipe as incognitio as possible. Very cool!

The work was completed in a timely fashioned, not rushed. Each member of the crew was friendly, knowledgeable and hard-working - which shows a lot about the character and culture of the company. It was tested, I was walked though what they were doing while they did it and then they cleaned up like they were never here!

The final install (photos coming) is clean and functional. Highly recommended!

Excellent work! They came to look into installing an EV charger in my building garage and were prompt and communicative. Boz was very knowledgeable and informative. Kaplan and his colleague were professional and did an excellent job with the installation. They also helped me set it up correctly with the app and synced to my car. The charger had to be wired across the garage and it looked professional and barely visible. I highly recommend them! Will use Highlights again for future electrical needs!

Boz and his crew were absolute legends. Kind and efficient. Their work was super clean. They were able to install an EV charger in my garage in just 3-4 hours, including trenching. These guys are wizards. And on top of it, everyone was a total sweat heart. Could not recommend Highlights and Boz's team enough - Specifically Kaplan, Jerardo, and Roberto! So happy to know I have a trusted electrician to reach out to when the next job calls.

Thanks again!

We had a great experience with Highlights Chicago. From the first call, Boz was prompt and professional in scoping the work and provided an adequate and transparent quote.

Oscar and Victor helped us install several new light fixtures and outdoor outlet covers. They were professional, knowledgeable, and extremely detail-oriented. What stood out most was their commitment to doing the job right. They took the time to explain everything and ensured each installation was completed perfectly.

We highly recommend Highlights Chicago and will definitely work with them again.

We simply cannot recommend Highlights Chicago highly enough. They handled all the electrical work for our new house, which is a massive job, and they were truly outstanding from start to finish.
Right from the initial meeting, Boz was fantastic. He gave us a very accurate, honest assessment of exactly what our new home needed and never once tried to upsell or push unnecessary work—something we really appreciated in the middle of a big build. His estimates were delivered precisely when promised, keeping our project on schedule.
The work itself was of exceptionally high quality. They wired our entire house in a timely manner, and the result is honestly outstanding. The ultimate seal of approval came from the city inspector, who actually went out of his way to compliment the new service installation, saying it was "done by the books." That kind of third-party praise speaks volumes about the quality and professionalism of their team.
Boz and his crew were always professional, easy to reach, and punctual. They took the time to clarify all our questions and made sure we understood what was being done every step of the way. If you need reliable, high-quality electrical work done, I would recommend Highlights Chicago in a heartbeat.

My roommates and I recently hired Highlights for a panel upgrade, and the entire experience was excellent from start to finish. Our initial point of contact was Anna at the office, who was super friendly and made scheduling everything really easy. We felt well taken care of from the first call.
Boz was the electrician we worked with, and we couldn’t be happier. He was knowledgeable, efficient, and clearly takes pride in his work. Everything was done neatly, on time, and with great attention to detail. It's a huge relief knowing our electrical system is now up to date and in such good hands.
Highly recommend!

Amazing to work with. I had a Tesla charger installed in my detached garage and also had my electrical panel upgraded. The original estimate was that the work would take 2–3 days, but the team completed everything in just one day. The pricing was very reasonable, and all work was done cleanly and professionally.

Boz was my main point of contact and did a great job keeping me up to date throughout the process. He also followed up afterward to make sure I applied for the ComEd EV charger credits in time, which I really appreciated.

Everything was completed up to code and passed inspection without any issues. I would definitely recommend them for EV charger installations and electrical upgrades.

This company is by far the best I’ve worked with since I bought my house. Boz is very professional, intelligent, & helpful. Him and his team were all hard workers and had a clean install with my Tesla car charger. You can tell they care about doing excellent work and making you happy. They worked outdoors even in cold conditions. The best part is they are very reasonable with their prices compared to competitors in the area. I’m definitely hiring them again for anything electrical in the future! Don’t think twice. Hire these guys Asap!

Mr. Morales (and his son) are both expert in what they do. They are also both very professional and polite. I am always confident that if I call them about a problem - it will be fixed.

This time I was in a panic because all my Christmas lights had gone out. Marcelino Moreno (and an assistant) came immediately to repair all of my outside outlets and switches. They understood the situation, got to work and it's Christmas again.
Happy Holidays!

Eddie was prompt and efficient. He quickly located the problem in my panel that had caused part of my electric power to go out and repaired it, installed two GFCI outlets in the bathroom, and disconnected another unused switch. They may not be the cheapest electricians, but I trust their work, they are easy to schedule, and very easy to work with.

Ed Morales was professional, thorough, in reviewing, explaining and diagnosing my electrical problems. I appreciate him explaining how its all connected from inside the house to the meters to outside com ed line. Also prepared me to know what com ed needs to correct. Will use again.

So... They were on time, polite, and professional. That's good. But they couldn't do the job I asked of them unless I wanted to pay $1600. Fair enough I guess, though I thought I'd described the job in detail, including pictures and measurements, but they charged me $50 just to quote me that amount for hanging a ceiling fan. Granted, it involved placement of a new outlet box, which isn't easy, but that's why I called an electrician.

They would have charged $400 to hang the fan in an existing light box, but I chose to do that myself. Took me 2 hours and an extra trip to home depot, but .. $400 guys?

I'm still a bit miffed after providing specifics on the job, they still charged me $50 just to tell me it would take $1600 to do the job I asked of them (that number they kind of made up on the spot after hemming and hawing about how he wasn't sure it could be done).

Oh well. It's not exactly what I wanted, but at least I saved $350 by doing it myself. Sounds like these guys do a fine job, from the reviews, but be prepared to open your wallet.

Pricing for installation of ceiling mounted fixtures is related to size (diameter). It was incredibly high, $350 just for one. The two others were various, but high, prices as well.

The electrician was friendly and professional. Of course I agreed to pay but if you are looking at a more economical choice look elsewhere as the cost is steep for basic install work. Should of had more patience with the instruction manuals.

Amazing care and professionalism from Eddie and Juan when installing several complicated light fixtures. They even did some paint touch-up in a hard to reach spot around one of the new fixtures. My wife and I will definitely be repeat customers!

Excellent experience! Great communication before, during, and after repair. They arrived on time, were friendly and professional. They reviewed what needed to be done and have me a quote. Once they had exposed the problem,c they realized it was less work than anticipated so revised the quote to a lower amount and were done in an hour. Very professional. Would use them again.
