We filed a compliant with the BBB for Rollin's failure to obtain necessary permits, workmanship failures and lack of professionalism. Please think twice before hiring this contractor - it will not be worth it if there are any uncertainties re: your project and they will say anything to get your job.

We hired Jeff to perform some deck work for our three flat. Jeff quoted us $6K to replace certain posts and railings. One year later, additional work was clearly required because railings were loose and Jeff performed an additional $3K worth of work. At no time to Jeff represent himself as anything other than qualified to perform the work. Turns out he never even got a permit for the work. We were cited by the city for non-compliance shortly after his second round of work. He complied with fixing some of the issues identified. When he met with the inspector to review the work and confirm compliance, he essentially yelled, screamed, stormed off and refused to fix any of the additional work. We are now left with a deck that still needs work, $12K later. Jeff continues not to respond to emails/requests for him to finish his work.

Jeff misrepresented his ability to do deck work according to city law and code. His unprofessionalism in resolving the issue that he created (he should have just said his people didnt do deck work maybe instead of doing a poor job and then getting upset when someone challenged him to do the work properly) was so disappointing.

Do not work with this contractor.

Rollins contracting was hired to seal and provide tuckpointing services for our 3 story concrete block and brick condo building. They were courteous, professional and communicated very well during the process. They even went above and beyond their scope by fixing a few areas in the front of our building and our front step. From what we can tell our building was sealed really well and we will be in touch with them about future projects. Thanks Rollins Contracting!

I've worked with Ilan and Avi on a professional level on multiple projects. They have extensive experience and know how to get things done properly, especially when it comes to dealing with construction codes and building inspectors.

Buyer beware! We paid $15K to remodel a small bathroom. Craftsmanship by this company is a 2 on a 5 start scale. The tile and grout was inconsistent and messy (anyone would notice and comment). The shower knob is loose and crooked which is also noticeable because the style of the shower fixture is linear. Their worker left two nicks in a brand new shower floor, AND caused VERY NOTICEABLE damage to a LED lighted mirror, which is the showcase piece of the bathroom. Ian was unprofessional and combative when discussing the completion of our bathroom remodel. He did not take responsibility for his workers' damage and did not at all try to resolve things and leave us happy that we paid $15K for a small bathroom remodel. He left doors/garage open which left our home vulnerable.

We purchased a condo in Lincoln park and we hired Ilan and Avi to from Chicago Constructions. They had to correct all electrical work the original contractor had done incorrectly and all others incorrect work our original contractor and done.
They kept in touch with us throughout the whole process. All the work he did add permits and all the permits were approved the first time they were inspected, unlike our original contractor who failed the permitting process on numerous occasions.
We would highly recommend Ilan and Avi and his company to anyone looking to renovate their Home or condo

I was in a horrible place after my new construction business flooded and drywall, plumbing, flooring and cabinetry had to be removed due to city sewer backup. After working with my landlords, insurance, and the building HOA, I was still on the hook for a significant amount for repairs. Ilan met me the day after I called and got his team started on the project almost immediately. His guys are professional, efficient, and hardworking. You cannot go wrong with this team. I am so grateful with how they helped me during this difficult period. And that I was able to get back to business! I will definitely use them again should the need arise.

We have used Chicago Constructions for 4 projects over the past year and they have done a wonderful job. They are responsive and have completed all of the projects on time or early. The projects included plumbing, electrical and renovations in our old two flat.

We highly recommend Ilan and Chicago Constructions. We used them to update our kitchen, painting/sanding cabinets and installing new countertops. Ilan was very responsive - responding in 10 minutes or less, and was on top of things the whole way. His crew was great, with Gio especially, sanding/painting the cabinets and they look like new despite being 20+ years old. The finished product makes the room look completely different, and it’s made an incredible difference in our home.

We were doing a bathroom remodel and nervous about finding the right contractor. We met with several contractors and ultimately went with chicago construction. Ilan came in for initial quote and seem much more genuine & helpful than others we engaged. The pricing for the work was fair. Ilan was very responsive and diligent - he made sure to understand my vision and wrote everything down, which I really appreciated. The day to day team on the ground was equally as great. Avi was our project manager - he’s a great communicator & made sure things moved along as expected as well as checked quality of work etc. Fernando & Ernesto made sure to check in with us throughout the process so everything was as expected - before they laid the tile, electrical, etc. they would make sure we were good with the exact position. Everything was completed within the timeline expected & up to our standards. They made the whole process stress free. Would definitely recommend the team & we plan to use them in the future!
