Just got back from this place, I believe this was my fifth visit so I figured it was time to review. Me and my girlfriend (she loves this place and is the one who introduced me to it) bought a bunch of flower plants for my flower pot and I’m so happy with my purchase. The staff here is really helpful. Collin stood with us throughout the entire purchase and helped us pick the perfect plants for our needs and explained everything about each plant too, which was extremely helpful to me as I’m new to planting. We plan to come back to get more plants and definitely recommend this place!

The only place in Chicago to buy a Christmas tree. Yes, they are not cheap, but you are paying for freshness & quality. I always find many affordable Christmas gifts in the shop as well. Lovely staff including one person dressed up as an elf today. I recommend Gethsemane year round for all of your plant, gardening, and gift giving needs.

We’ve been coming here for our Christmas tree since 2018 and they’ve never disappointed! Today we ran in last minute and were greeted by Jamie, “best tree picker in the world!” according to our 6 year old. The first one he found us based on our wishlist was a winner and we were out the door in a few mins. Thanks a bunch to Jamie and the whole crew 🙂

I love this garden center! They have tons of things to see! Plants,flowers, jewelry etc. this place is a gem in the city. If you haven’t been there, you most definitely have to check it out 🩷

Love coming to this location have been coming since 2017. I always get my Christmas trees from here and Tony is very helpful when I need help picking my trees. I also love their flowers and decorations they’re so cute.

Really wonderful plant shop and gardening center. They had a huge variety of unique plants, both indoor and outdoor! I was really happy to find some tomatillo plants and even Cucamelon seedlings. I had problems finding those in big box gardening stores, so I was happy to find them here.

The prices felt like a steal, I got 3 Pilea Peperomiodes of a decent size in the same pot! The staff are also really helpful and approachable. What more can I say, come here for your gardening needs 🪴Maybe you’ll find your dream plant.

I came to the store after my horrifying experience at a plant store in Niles. This place is clean! The plants are healthy! The employees were amazingly kind and helpful. The employee helped me find a plant that was cat friendly, with big leaves and within my price range, as I requested. A group of employees wrapped up my plants while I went to go pay. Then two of the employees helped me load my car. I will definitely be coming back here to purchase more plants in the spring.

Great selection of plants. Mark and Barb were both very helpful with selecting our plants. We went on Mother's Day afternoon and it was quite busy but still heavily stocked.

This place is amazing! They have EVERYTHING! Staff was really nice. Prices are good. They have a lot of variety. I recently got into succulents. I live in a small apartment with not much direct sunlight. Trying to figure out what's best to grow. My only small concern is that I think they receive new plants on Fridays and employees were unpacking and it was hard to go and browse due to the large amount of boxes nearby. I ended up exploring the rest of this place. They sell some really cool artwork. They have cute patio furniture. And even some of their stuff was on sale!!! I wish I had seen what was in those boxes but I'll probably stop by on another day. I bought 3 succulents and I'm most likely going back for more.

A beautiful plant shop where are you can find postcards, cute dishes for the house or gardening supply, including plants. They have seasonal plants as it is full of colorful flowers during spring and summer and it will be changed to Christmas themed plants as winter comes around. They have beautiful mini pocket tissues with variety of floral patterns! A fun stop if you’re at the Andersonville Neighbourhood.

Had a great experience here! Lots of plants with information about them and staff who are super knowledgeable and helpful. Great selection for outdoor, indoor and seasonal stuff! Also there’s a huge parking lot which is really nice. Prices aren’t bad either! Only drawback was that I personally found the checkout process (where it was) a bit confusing my first time there.

This is my favorite garden shop in any city. The plants are well cared for and always last the full season, and the planter options are well made and varied to fit any aesthetic. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful - you can tell they are passionate about what they do.

I took a terrarium making class in February 2025 which was a lot of fun and very informative. I really got into caring for this terrarium, Terri, and she just bloomed!! I went back and asked if they could help me upgrade her to a 10 gallon aquarium tank. They took her and a week later this beauty came home! Very reasonably priced for the whole glow up. They did such an amazing job, I love seeing her thrive in this new home they created for her! I’m very pleased and so happy there is a place that will help a novice like me out.

Himsben Design designed and created a stone patio in our front yard that seamlessly integrates with our existing stone path and stairs. You can't tell that the patio is new and the stone path and stairs are 50+ years old.

In 2020, Himsben Design is reworking our stone patio in the backyard and I cannot wait for the results.

I’ve referred Ben and his studio to so many people I’ve lost count. He’s professional, talented, and gets the job done right. I’ve spent many days in several yards he’s designed over the years and the work is impeccable. Everyone that knows him sings his praises!

HDS was referred to us in high regard by a colleague. Ben and his team truly delivered on creating our roof top dream space. We purchased a new condo in Logan Square and Ben took a blank canvas and made it an oasis. Ben was quick to respond to our questions. The HDS install team was professional, courteous and beyond hardworking. I would highly recommend HDS to anyone looking to transform their outdoor living space!

We have worked with Ben for several years...he has provided extensive landscaping in our back yard, put in an amazing terrace and has added seasonal plantings to the front of our house for summer and winter holidays. Ben and his team were absolutely fantastic! From the design process through execution, Ben was incredibly responsive and professional. We encountered a curveball due to a previous deck issue that Ben swiftly dealt with. We couldn’t be happier with our roof decks, plants, and artificial turf that Ben designed and installed!

From our initial meeting to completion of (2) projects, Benjamin and team have been fantastic! They are professional, provide plenty of updates on progress as well as if any delays due to weather, and responsive to all our questions! They listened and understood what we needed and what we expected. Lastly, projects were completed 100% (not 90% with us chasing down all punch list items)! We couldn’t be happier with the service and the work.
