Horrible:
- Arrived very late. Service was scheduled for 10am, and they didn't arrive until 12pm. No time window was provided, either
- Unresponsive. The manager was supposedly always "in a meeting and couldn't answer the phone"
- Lack integrity. While the plumber was present and had already inspected the issue, I was told a repair would require switching a standard Chicago faucet. An hour later, the story was switched to needing a special order faucet

We had two emergencies during the extreme cold weather this past winter. Our water heater exploded followed within a week by a major pipe burst. We hired 4S to get us through it and they came through with flying colors. Knowledgeable, fast, efficient and caring are just a few of the words I would use to describe them. Ann all at the most reasonable cost and payment terms. Most highly recommended!

Had my water heater replaced by 4S plumbing, spent over $3k for new unit plus install—I had to help the solo plumber they sent carry my old 75 gallon, 250lb water heater out of my house basement as it was not a 1-man job—no problem I was ok with helping. Turns out this new water heater they installed is defective, and now the “owner” Bill Won’t return calls or text messages to schedule a fix and I’ve been trying for months. I wouldn’t expect warranty work to be completed if you need it from this motley crew and only use them if you are desperate

4S arrived on time, quickly and professionally diagnosed the issue that was causing a toilet to leak, and made the repairs. They were respectful of our house, wearing shoe coverings indoors and protecting our floors and other areas surrounding the workspace. They also tidied up the workspace when done. I've used 4S for two other jobs before this one, and they've always done nice work.

The team at 4S was extremely professional and easy to work with. Their prices are reasonable and their work is very good. In an industry filled with people who gouge and take advantage of their customers 4S is a breath of fresh air. I will undoubtedly call them the next time I need help.

Their drywall cuts look like a large dog bit them off. They didn't put down drop cloths on days that we all knew were going to be messy. They didn't put any protection over sinks and toilets in areas where they were going to be working. They also made very rookie mistakes of having their Sawzall go through the wall behind them and didn't need to be cut at all. They knew in advance that they only had 3-5 inches to work with but the saw punctures straight through like it was their first day. This makes that room unuseable for a few days while drywall mud to dry and be sanded. The room also had to be cleaned and half of it moved out so the patches could be made which was extremely inconvenient. The plumbing was also bad. The sam sawzall they used that punched through the walls also cut into a pipe and it leaked all night. The water pressure is worse than it was before and now the hit water doesn't get hot. There are small children in2 of the 3 units they were working in and they went over by more than 2 hours and started making loud noises well into bedtime. Unfortunately I don't have enough voting power with my condo association or I would have fired them on the first day. The cheapest option is never good for plumbing and electrical. Unfortunately condo associations are democratic and no one else in the building has any experience with the trades or getting work done. Would not recommend.

4S plumbing got the job done well. They observed the problem and fixed it fast and efficient. My sink collapsed and they remounted it and tightened all the pipes and repaired a leak in one of the pipes. Great Work 4S plumbing.

Great service and happy with overall experience! The plumbers were knowledgeable and had the right tools to fix my drain issue correctly. Also the office staff was really friendly and helpful. It’s nice to have someone a quick call away in my Neighborhood for any plumbing issue I may encounter!

I have been using this company for my plumbing needs for the last 9 years for my multi unit building and my client's properties. I probably should have written a review a long time ago. This company is very responsive and gets the job done. The employees are always knowledgeable and friendly. Today my plumber was Marcus. I appreciate that he took the time to explain everything. I will definitely continue to use this company and refer them to others.

Oh, where do I start. Do not use this company. They installed a brand new tankless water heater for us and did it completely incorrectly. The unit started making noises, so we had 2 different well known companies come out and they both told us the unit was installed incorrectly and we needed to pay hundreds of dollars to do a bandaid fix to make the unit work properly. We asked 4S to make the repairs, and they kept telling us it was fine and they would come over to show us how to do the proper flush the system needed. Then they NEVER showed up. We had to call one of the other companies to correct the mistake, and pay for the repair. The owner continued to make promise after promise that he would reimburse us for the cost of the correction. Sent us a check from a closed account, then said he made a mistake and would send a certified check that NEVER showed up. I've been dealing with the owner for 6 months now. He seems genuine, but it's been problem after problem. Please save yourselves and stay far away from this company.

Excellent service and honest dealing, going well beyond expectations.

We stumbled on to 4S Plumbing unwittingly through a referral from another plumber that wasn't able to help us. It was a happy accident though. Our plumber Tim was not only professional but an all-around nice guy who was happy to answer questions and look at other plumbing and leak issues around the house.

Tim had come to replace a kitchen faucet, but by the end of the visit our jammed garbage disposal was working and our previously useless upstairs bath had water pressure. Except for the faucet, these were all relatively simple fixes that a less scrupulous plumber could have easily have used to run up the bill. At the end of the day, half of our household maintenance list was checked off, and our bill was less than $400.

As for the backend, Bill responded immediately to our call, scheduling Tim's visit within a few hours. Billing was prompt, and all labor and parts charges were clearly delineated in an email receipt, which we were able to pay online.

In short, 4S is prompt, professional, modern and above all incredibly honest.

Tim, thanks to you, my spouse will be able to take her first hot bath since we moved in.

I had 4S Plumbing come out for a same day emergency service that I needed done. I had water leaking through my ceiling. Another company came out and told me that they were going to have to tear out my ceiling and run all new waterlines. The plumbers with 4S came out, performed some troubleshooting, then cut a small hole in my ceiling. They said it was just a valve that was leaking behind the tub and they replaced everything within one hour. They even patched up the drywall for me. The cost was extremely fair and thousands less than I was quoted by the other company, which would have done a bunch of unnecessary work. Thanks to these guys for saving the day and I will definitely recommend them to anyone that needs a good plumber!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! If I can save a singe customer from the experience I have had over the past month! I had a pipe burst around Christmas and this service came out to defrost my pipes. Since they responded I decided to use them for a rerouting. The plumber was not only late but showed up at 7pm and stayed till midnight rerouting. The plumber had to come back several days later to finish the installation because my contractor had to redo some framing. One of the laundry valves they installed leaked and it took the plumber several days to come out, however the valve was never replaced. Like others have said, the owner is in a meeting, little to no response, and after almost a week of no shows and no communication, a different plumber showed up (after I started to request return of payment) and installed a wash tub hook up that was supposed to be done at the same time as the laundry, as he was leaving I said there is a leak and he told me he had spilled water. Pipe was still leaking about 2 hrs later I called them to come back… the plumber tried to tell me it was “ground water leaking” until I pointed out the leak in the cold water valve they had installed the week prior. This is how they left my new drywall…. I’m praying their work holds up but am skeptical! Please save yourself the headache and heartache! Hopefully their contract holds up if there is any further issue!

Great service, qualified plumbers, good prices. Had 4S plumbing do two different shower plumbing jobs for my condo, all worked out great, I will definitely use again. Thank you Bill Taylor!

I do not recommend this company. The one star is for prompt response from customer service, otherwise I would have given it zero star if I could. I told customer service that my food disposal is giving off odd smell, the plumber who came simply tightened the food disposal, charged me $500 then left. The smell persisted. We had to reach out to customer service again. The plumber came back, flushed some ice down the food disposal, which caused a full-on leak. He blamed it on the food disposal, which he had tightened and charged me for last time. He then tried to charge us $99 dollars for the visit, we absolutely refused.

The scope also included fixing a leaky toilet. As you may have guessed, it was not fixed. Plumber blamed on one old part the first time, then blamed on another old part the second time. I ended up purchasing a new toilet and got someone else to install it.

I’ve been a loyal customer of 4S Plumbing for a long time now, and I just want to say how thankful I am for their consistent, outstanding service. Every time I call them, they never disappoint! They recently fixed my sewer line, and as always, they did an excellent job — fast, professional, and very reliable. It’s rare to find a company you can trust completely, and I’m glad I found that with 4S Plumbing. Thank you for always taking care of my plumbing needs and for maintaining the same great service throughout the years and that’s why this company is highly recommended!

I have had great experiences with 4S Plumbing. I have been working with them for years and they always come through for me in a timely fashion and are also very fair on the pricing with me. I have rental properties in Bucktown neighborhood of Chicago and I have moved overseas and only come back occasionally. Anytime my tenants have any problems With the plumbing or drains, I call these guys and they always have someone available and even the same day. I’ve also had an emergency service where they came out at midnight and really saved me from a bigger problem! I’ve had different plumbers that have come here from this company, and they all are very courteous and professional. I will continue to use them and the communication is great!
