One of the best plumbing-service experiences I’ve had. Honest, timely and responsive, willing to give rough estimates of some services without a paid visit, and John handled some unexpected snags with the work we needed done but took them in stride and came out a victor. Highly recommend!

John did a wonderful job fixing the back up that we had at our daycare. When he found out it was a daycare with children present, he came out within 1 hour of the call. Very thankful and like forward to working with him should needs dictate.

I live in a 100+ year old bungalow in Portage Park. I've had the pleasure of knowing John for the past 6 years. I have needed his help on 4 different occasions. From very urgent to non-emergency, each time Loves Plumbing and Sewer has went above and beyond in addressing and fixing the problems. I feel very fortunate that if I ever need a plumber, John is just a text or phone call away:

1) Summer 2018 - Decades old cartridge broke on tub facet and I was unable to get it removed/replaced. John came over on a Saturday afternoon and fixed the problem.
2) January 2019 - Water line leading into the basement broke and cause leakage under concrete foundation. John and team came our, jackhammered and fixed the issue.
3) May 2019 - John partnered with DMJ Contractors to rehab our basement bathroom. His part included jackhammering through TWO layers of concrete and putting in all new plumbing, shower, vanity and toilet. The end results was truly amazing. It went from the worst bathroom in the house to the best. To this day we are so happy with the results.
4) May 2024 - I never remember to turn off water to outside faucet. Well, this winter it froze and when I went to turn on the faucet, water poured down the inside of my furnace room wall. Within 48 hours, John came out, accessed the situation and replaced the faucet/sillcock from a plumbing supply store.

John Love is always my first call for anything plumbing related. John takes his work very seriously and is a true professional. I have his number saved in my phone and not only is he the first call, he is always the only call I need to make.

John has completed multiple jobs for me and my family, from Sump Pump Replacement, fixing drainage and rodding the kitchen lines. Most recently John completed that job for us, it was a very stubborn job but John persisted and ultimately on the scheduled day we were unable to remove the clog. The line was moving though, and John said dont worry ill be back in the morning and we will get it.

And he did. I got a text first thing in the morning that he was on his way, and the job was done.

It takes a real professional who is unwilling to give up, one who is persistent, one who keeps their word and commitments to customers. John is all of the above. This is why he is my only plumber.

Hiring a plumber is nerve-wracking. Would I get a fair price? Would the work be done right or would it just be a "quick fix?" It's hard to find good people to work with! But wow, John and his team are honest, professional, thorough, and do incredible work. They've helped us with a few projects in our house and are always prompt, communicative, and pleasures to work with. They are upfront about cost and prices are very fair, always providing top quality service and work. They really look out for their clients and the longevity of their homes.

I have used Loves Plumbing and Sewer twice now. Both times I contacted John outside of normal business hours and he answered and spoke with me immediately, and scheduled a visit the next day. Last summer I needed my kitchen sink replaced on short notice and he did it right away for a very reasonable price. The sink has worked perfectly ever since.

More recently, I had begun having water back up around the drain outside our basement door during the heavy Chicago rains that have been slamming our area in May/June 2020. He and a member of his crew showed up (both properly masked due to the ongoing pandemic) and quickly scoped my sewer line and cleaned out the drain leading to my catch basin in no time. He is clearly knowledgeable and wastes no time in assessing and correcting the issue. These were (by far) the smoothest and quickest service visits I've ever had. And his rates were more than fair.

I cannot recommend them highly enough. I feel lucky to have finally found the rare plumber who I can trust to get here quickly and fix something right without charging me an arm and a leg.

John and his team were really great. We had to replace a section of the sewer line on a house we just bought. John was very professional from the beginning. He very carefully explained everything that was needed and every detail of how things were going throughout the project. I would highly recommend his team for anyone.

John and his team are exceptional and professional. They installed a flood control system in our basement due to the recent flooding in the area. He was quick to respond to my information request, offered a fair price, kept an open line of communication throughout the job, finished quickly and the final product was great. John was great from the beginning. Before we even hired him, I sent John some pictures of some work my neighbor was having done very close to my property line and John came out that day to make sure the other company wasn't interfering with anything on my end and he was actually able to get the city inspector over the same day just to double check the neighbors work as well. As far as my work goes, John and his guys did amazing work. Only took them 2 days to finish installing a flapper(parital flood control system) in my front yard. I would 100% recommend John @ Loves Plumbing and Sewer. I am actually going to hire him again soon to install plumbing for a new bathroom in our basement.

We had Loves Plumbing and Sewer do some work for our daughter. It was replacing some very old plumbing in her bathroom and kitchen. Loves plumbing explained what the problem was and how much it would cost. They did an excellent job and there price was very reasonable. We will definitely keep using them because of there excellent work.

We used Loves Plumbing for an extensive renovation project and we can't say enough great things about the work that was done. We had a BIG project and lived in the house while the project took place, which can obviously make for a stressful experience. John was tremendously helpful in making sure we were taken care of throughout the project even going out of his way to text and follow up with us on nights and weekends to ensure we were managing ok. John was timely, honest, straight forward and was great to work with; he is our recommendation to friends and family.

John Love’s big selling point to me was that he is a man of honor and guarantees his work. I found out the hard way this could not be farther from the truth. He skipped one simple step to ensure there was no debris in a sewer line (he was paid handsomely to repair) which caused our major home flood. He looked directly at me and indicated he had videoed my sewer line. $7,000 later a reputable plumber who repaired his mistake provided me with video proof he did not clean the line. Not only did John not stand behind his guarantee, he has lied about his actions in an attempt to walk away from his responsibility. Buyer beware!!

John was incredibly responsive and thorough throughout the project we had him complete. I would 100% recommend Loves Plumbing and Sewer to anyone in the Portage Park area in need of plumbing services. A good and reliable plumber is an invaluable resource to have.

John Love (the plumber and owner) was on time, professional and very knowledgeable. We found him on Google bc of his good reviews- decided to give him a try- the reviews are accurate! John showed up on time, communication was clear throughout the process and he immediately found the old rotting pipe within the ceiling of our basement- it was very apparent he has a lot of experience working with older homes just like our 1916 Bungalow. He did a thorough job, kept the basement and work area spotless, even called the next day to make sure we were satisfied with his job. Communication, honesty, and skill matter a lot for plumbing customers. John Love is excellent at all of these. He was quickly responsive to my initial call, and texted me with every update and delay. He is very clear when he describes problems and solutions. He showed me ways I could save money midway through the project. He stayed for a while after the project and checked in the next day to be sure all went well. All pros should do business this way.

Our experience with Love’s has exceeded every expectation. Very responsive, knowledgeable, thorough, and takes a great deal of pride in the results, which we appreciate so much. We will definitely be going to Love’s for all future plumbing projects. I highly recommend them.
