John and his team were delightful to work with and highly professional throughout the entire process! We hired them to rough in our basement bathroom. They arrived on time and John communicated with us regularly and clearly about the status of the project, showed me progress first hand and communicated clearly about what needed to be done. This trait is so rare nowadays with plumbers and service technicians alike keeping homeowners in the dark about what's going on so this is something I very much appreciated! I have used Loves Plumbing and Sewer for the past 5 years for a few times. John and his crew do outstanding work & repairs. He operates his business with great passion and dedication. He responds quickly and is “on the scene” in a timely manner. John uses his knowledge with extreme care and patience. I have referred him to my family and friends and he’s never come up short. I would recommend Loves Plumbing to everyone. Business with Loves and John started as help with a leak on a fridge water line. John told me what I need to replace it myself instead of charging me and savings me a good buck. While John was helping me with that he mentioned he does flood control and gave me a very reasonable estimate. I was previously interested in flood control living in a flood prone area and decided to move forward with Loves. The whole process took about 6 business days from permit to values installed to cement being poured. John was able to secure the city permit very quickly then once work began it was finished within 3 days. Along the way John and his teams communication was great letting me know all the things they were doing, contacting the city inspector and letting me know how my sewer looked during the scope. After the completion of the flood control I am very happy with the results and the peace of mind I have for future heavy rains. John will be my first call for any future plumbing needs.

This company is truly a blessing. From start to finish everyone was very communicative. Jesus came in and explained everything that needed to be done in order to fix my issue and walked me step by step through everything. They were very accommodating to my schedule with work and finished in a reasonable amount of time. I can't say enough great things about this company!!! John Love and his team quickly stepped in to diagnose and repair multiple breaks in my main sewer line. He and his team were a pleasure to deal with. They were prompt, thorough, and incredibly conscientious of not causing a disturbance to my tenants. The price was fair and the work was quickly completed -including the permit process. John has won himself a customer for life, and I would recommend him to anyone without hesitation.

He arrived quickly, was willing to help with extra work, and handled a tough situation with total professionalism (my mom isn’t easy to please!). No upselling or nickel-and-diming, and he followed up the next day to make sure everything was still good. Great experience.

John and his crew were awesome! We’re new homeowners and know Portage Park is known for sewer backup so we had John come out and install a backwater valve to prevent basement flooding. John Love attempted to repair a collapsed pipe in our home. Unfortunately he rushed the job and several standard and simple steps were missed. He failed to check the battery back-up of the sump pump and failed to camera the new line after completion, which was full of rocks from the digging. That poor quality of work caused another major flood in our home after our renovation was complete, costing more than $35K. Do yourself a favor and find another plumber who has solid knowledge and will perform a thorough job.

I reached out to John for a quote on a new water heater, and he was able to come take a look at the current unit we had within a day or two. We scheduled the installation for just a couple of days later, and within a few hours of his arrival the work was complete. Smooth, clean, professional installation, and very, very fair on price.

I recently had a sewerage backup in my crawl space, and I hired John to take care of it. He was professional, prompt, and did an excellent job at a fair price. The communication was clear and prompt throughout the process, and the price was upfront, so there were no surprises. The job was more complicated than expected, as he had to replace part of the sewer pipe and dig through a lot of rocks and roots, which was no easy task. Despite the added difficulty, John didn’t jack up the price, which I really appreciated. He worked efficiently, explained everything clearly, and made sure everything was cleaned up afterward. I highly recommend John for any plumbing needs. Great service and great value!

We had a severe clog in our upstairs bathroom for a previously done poorly flipped bathroom. The shower and sink were non functional. John went above and beyond to ensure the issue was managed with the least invasive measure while also ensuring we were setup long term. He took care of us until the job was done even when obstacles arose. Would highly recommend his services for complex issues and customer care. He was very communicative and responsive as well.

John and his son did an excellent job on finding out why our basement flooded and helping us fix a major clog and give us tips on how to fix a busted pipe.
We’re usually skeptical about some services like this because people can take advantage of your situation but John is super honest and straightforward.
He also shows you what the problem is and walks you through what’s going on.

We had John out a couple years ago to fix a toilet after he was referred to us by a friend. He not only fixed the toilet but noticed a leak that could have cost us a lot of $$ in the long run. More recently, out water heater crashed out and John came out and replaced it the very next morning. He works quick, explains what he's doing and how much it will cost, and leaves a clean space when he's finished. It's nice knowing we won't ever have to look for another plumber. He's our guy!

Got a quote for 8.7k for a broken sewer line via a tree root which was causing a backup into my basement.

I called John looking for a second opinion because something didn’t feel right and he helped me through everything and was able to come out asap after I called and fixed the issue. No need for the massive 8.7k excavation from the “bigger” company.

I called John about a leak in 2024. He came out, helped diagnose the issue (HVAC and not plumbing) and pointed me in the right direction. 2 years later and I had a frozen pipe so I called John again and he sent someone out the next day. They explained everything they needed to do very clearly, and gave me a couple of options to choose from and a fair price for the work. I would definitely recommend using Love’s again and they will be my go-to plumbers from now on.

Jacob was able to come over on the same day we spoke and provide me with an estimate for the plumbing work. He was also able to complete the job on the same day. I found his pricing very reasonable and he was considerate of my budget. He replaced my PRV and T&P valve and installed an expansion tank. Jacob took the time to explain the necessary work and the cause of my water leak. His professionalism was commendable and he finished the job quickly. I'm extremely satisfied with my encounter with this plumbing service. I required a new water main from the street to my home and the process was seamless. I understand that every task is unique, but I received a very fair estimate and the work was completed by the following Monday. The water was turned off Monday morning and restored by lunch that day. This encompassed trenchless main line installation, a new expansion tank, all interior work done with copper, lawn seeding where necessary, new seed sheltered with straw, and the completion of the county inspection. All of this was achieved by the early afternoon! I would definitely seek their services again for any plumbing requirements. Donovan and Jacob were fantastic.

In my mobile home, I found a leak close to my water heater. I initially thought the issue was with the heater itself. I discovered a plumbing service in the directory and got in touch with Donovan, who was in charge. Luckily, Donovan had some time before his next job and said he could be here shortly. When Donovan showed up, he inspected the heater and the plumbing but couldn't identify the issue. So, I agreed to venture into the damp, muddy crawl space to switch the water back on. Donovan was quick to deliver the good news that it wasn't the heater but a small, inexpensive grey water pipe fitting. Within minutes, he had it fixed and my water was running again. I can definitely vouch for this plumbing service being honest, courteous, and professional. Considering I was still under my home, Donovan could have easily lied and told me it was a heater leak, which would cost around $1500 to replace. If necessary, I wouldn't hesitate to call Donovan and his plumbing service again.

we needed a plumbing inspection done to help close the sale of our house, but nobody seemed to have time. some places even said they'd only come if we paid for an unnecessary service first, which would have messed up our test. we called emmett's speedy plumbing company and even though they were busy, they offered to fit us in as the last appointment the next day. not only did they add us to their schedule, but they gave us next day service when everyone else said no! jacob and donovan arrived exactly when promised, handled everything we needed with a great attitude, and made us feel important. they even thanked us for choosing them and explained other helpful services. nobody wants plumbing problems, but if you need a plumber, you should definitely give them a call.
