Had a great experience ordering firewood today. Everybody from the lady in the office to the gentlemen loading the wood were very nice and professional. Wood is very good quality, and burns a long time. Will definitely be placing the next order with them.

Rude customer service and absolutely gutted s small tree that used to provide shade for the house but now looks like a cactus.
You wouldn't have any record of my name, I'm not the one who books the services, I'm the one who writes reviews. And unless you can re-attach limbs to a tree, there is no way you can make this better.

This is the second time we have ordered firewood from Steve Piper and the price, delivery and stacking was a good value. The order was placed over the phone and the firewood was delivered as scheduled and nicely stacked in the proper location. If you have a fireplace and don't want to bother with smaller bundles, Steve Piper is a great option.

These guys never fail. Came out again to trim our very large tree. They do an amazing job and clean up everything on the patio afterwards. We call them every year and we always will. Highly recommend

I cannot say enough good things about the Crew and Staff @Steve Piper & Sons. We had major tree damage from the July 2024 tornado. Our 60 plus year old trees were highly damaged. The work crew was excellent. We highly recommend Steve Piper and Sons.

Called to ask about treated wood. Was looking for a better way to dispose of it rather than the landfill and I know a lot of places don't take it. I was assured they would take it. We are about 40 min away from the facility but it was worth driving the extra time to avoid the landfill. Upon arrival we were told they couldn't take treated wood. I waisted time, money, and fuel getting there just because they lack the ability to train there people properly. Whoever answers the phone Thursdays in the afternoon, please re read your guidelines for materials accepted to avoid wasting more people's time.

These people are awesome, they did a great job removing a tree from my neighbors yard, and were so kind as to also take a large tree branch that had fallen in my yard from a recent storm, very courteous, generous, and helpful crew. Thanks Steve Piper & Sons!

Before purchasing mulch from this company please look at the comments on NextDoor. They apparently delivered 12 yards of mulch to an 82 year old gentleman in Cambridge and instead of dropping it on one side of the driveway so he could get his car out of his garage, they dropped it so it covered two thirds of his driveway. When contacted they were rude and refused to fix the situation. Not what would be called good customer service. Again, I am repeating what was reported on NextDoor.

I get the city has a contract to cut trees but you can not block people's driveways and then take lunch. Made one of our 3 cars move out of the driveway even though they're not cutting anything there and I had to park on another block while the guy is sitting on the back of woodchipper swinging his feet like their not being a huge inconvenience. Unacceptable. Park in between the driveways for lunch.

I had an ash tree injected (EAB prevention) and three trees trimmed. I found Steve Piper & Sons Tree Service to be responsive and easy to work with. All of the people I dealt with (scheduling, estimate, follow-up questions, pre-work phone calls, folks doing the work, etc.) to be professional, nice and fair. The prices were very reasonable (in my opinion, of course) for the work performed. They did this work in two trips. The ash tree injection took a while since this was done in the fall and the sap wasn't running up in the tree as quickly as it might on a hot day, but that wasn't a problem for the certified arborist doing the work. He knew what he was doing and explained a lot to me about the process and my tree. The three tree trimmings were done a few weeks later by a team of 4 men. They, too, were professional, efficient and knew what they were doing and within a few hours, the trees were trimmed and looking great! They cleaned up all of the debris, shredded the limbs and raked the areas around the trees. I couldn't be happier with the work performed by these guys!

Service provided was to remove 2 large branches. Team arrived on time work was completed in a timely manner and the did a great clean up job

I purchased 10 yrs or mulch which was delivered on Thursday. I installed it on Friday and it rained hard that night. The morning after, I was shocked to see that the new mulch I had installed the night before was completely faded (if you notice, on one of the pictures you can see two different colors of mulch. The dark one is a bit of fresh mulch I placed over the mulch I installed the day before to show the contrast. You can see how pale it looks just after one night’s rain). At first I justified it with the heavy downpour, but then I looked at my neighbors mulch which he had installed a couple of week earlier and his looked pretty good, mine was all faded. I can’t really make sense of it.

Other than that, the staff is very nice and the delivery person was very helpful.

My block in Wheaton was having a new sidewalk put in. The contractor the City chose for the project selected STEVE PIPER & Sons to cut down trees along the block that needed to be removed to accommodate the new sidewalk. In the process of cutting down the tree in front of my neighbor's house they broke the top off of her lamppost. Even though it was a large tree any tree service should exercise more care and caution to not damage a property owner's property.

Efficient and high quality service. Removed a huge maple and pine in our yard. Cleaned well and took care not to damage any furniture in the yard. Bonus because the office team is great as well.

Never contacted JULIE on either occasion; just started digging. Poor communication and follow-up. Would not recommend.

This entire group of people from the receptionist to the arborist to the people who service the trees are fantastic. Couldn’t ask for anything more. They all are very costumer friendly!!!

I’ll never use Davey Tree again. They gave me one quote, the next day the quote was 3x. I ended up going with another company who’s price was the original that Davey provided.
