We are moving soon & had a lot of broken stuff like a dresser, 2 chairs & a bike. They took it all. Thank you so much!! We appreciate all you men do! You always wave at my kids and are so friendly. We miss this trash service!

Closed my account with them and they didn't come pick up the garbage when it was supposed to be picked up. Now after 1 month of not having their service, they charged me for the next 3 months of service and took the money out of my account. They keep giving me the run around each time i call and the same lady gives me different answers each time.

I'm disabled with a steep driveway and they are supposed to pickup and return the containers to the garage door. They get the pickup ok but fail the return leaving the container on its side in the yard. Customer service is awful, doesn't want to believe you and perfers to argue with you rather than correct the situation.

I live in a townhome complex in Ankeny and they use the automated trucks that spill trash sometimes in our complex and the drivers are to lazy to pick up the trash that they live behind.

On 11/15/18, the truck came by and only picked up the trash that was in my Ankeny Sanitation trash container that I left out in front of my unit but never throw away the cardboard box that I flattened that was laying beside the trash container. The cardboard box was not recyclable and I could not jam it into the Ankeny Sanitation trash container so I left it out of the container.

On top of this, I had three extra black trash bags sitting outside of the Ankeny Sanitation trash container and those were never picked up. The employees who drive the automated trucks are lazy and only want to pick up stuff that are in the trash containers AND NOTHING ELSE! Anything to speed up the service with automated trucks but you end up with crappy service and lazy employees.

Since I live in a townhome complex, I am stuck dealing with this crappy service that Ankeny Sanitation delivers. Horrible! Horrible! Horrible!

When I moved from Ankeny to a smaller town they came and picked up their bin. A week later they claimed they never picked it up and billed me $65. Not a huge amount of money, but still a waste. Their trucks littered my old road with garbage as well. Not a "good" company for the fine city of Ankeny.

Super frustrating when they throw away your trash can lids.. We called to let them know that happened when we paid our bill and the Customer Service was incredibly poor. I was told that if we didn't call that evening (after 7pm when we arrived home and saw the lids were disposed of - which is impossible since they are closed then) that they were not going to do anything to remedy the situation.

We also requested that they come back and pick up the "missed" trash can, we were told that we would have to pay a $25 dollar trip charge... That is absurd considering we pay less than $40 per month..

Extremely loud when they empty the trash at my apartment complex multiple times a week bright and early sometimes even before 7am. I’m so sick of your loud reckless trash emptying behavior waking me and my one year old up so often.

Ankeny Sanitation is Waukee’s contracted service. In the past few months, we called on two separate requests and both were handled quickly and cheerfully. Both requests were minor tasks, requiring them to go out of their way, but each time the response was very pleasant with a wish for a good day!

Ankeny Sanitation is the only suburb in Des Moines that does not do curb side pick-up on Cleanup Day.

That’s just crazy with how much we pay in property taxes. You would think they could at least do what what every other suburb in the Des Moines area does and help residents on Cleanup days.

I have been using Ankeny Sanitation since September 2013. After ten years of service I cannot think of any issues. I have called and emailed customer service for payment and other services over the years and both communications styles where pleasant.

I've had a couple times I needed to call Ankeny Sanitation-- once when they missed picking up my yard waste and another when some substantial garbage was still stuck in my bin after a pickup. Both times I called, the representative who answered the phone was friendly and helpful in putting a call out to the driver to come back to my address and remedy the situation. Thank you for making these situations quick and easy to deal with.

Here is how great my driver was today, I had an appointment at 9:00am so I had taken my trash can to the curb prior to leaving. I get home about 11:00am and my trash was not picked up as they normally don’t get to my street until noon or after. I start cleaning and take two more bags out to the street and was rudely stopped by ASI driver who said he will not be picking up my trash today as it was not there by 7:00am. I said okay and took my can to my driveway and called and complained about the interaction I had and was told to put my can back out and they would make an order to make sure it gets picked up. Now at 8:16pm same day my trash is full and still here. I have left a message with Dave Massey as he is the general manager to make sure this doesn’t happen to anyone else and that the drivers do the job they were hired for.

Update-7/5/19 I was able to speak with Dave today and he did apologize for the inconvenience and was able to get my bin picked up today. I was misinformed about them coming back out to pick it up on m collection day. I was unhappy to have to go through this process but was thrilled about how fast this was taken care of after that fact.

And a continuation with my experience of a S I am leaving this final comment only has my service then 100% I have forgotten to put items out to the curb and they have come in and pick them up and disposed of them for me which is above and beyond any expectation set I was able to call and personally give my thanks to each driver

Kelly and Mike Fisher at Ankeny Sanitation have provided the best trash service I have ever received. Kelly retrieved our overflowing trash that hadn't made it to the curb yet this morning. I am so thankful for their kindness in going beyond what is expected. My husband is sick and school drop off took me 40 minutes this morning. Kelly's thoughtfulness this morning was great gift and I'm thankful to use Ankeny Sanitation!

Ankeny Sanitation is one of the few options when looking for a garbage provider in Ankeny. I called around and the customer service was by far the best in comparison to the others, they also had the lowest rates in town and provided me with a garbage day that was the same as recycling. I would definitely recommend Ankeny Sanitation to anyone that is looking for a garbage service.

My driver that is on my route is awesome, pretty consistent with arrival time and always willing to go the extra mile and pick up my extras if I have any, without an issue. I am very pleased with this service. Thank you all for being GREAT at what you do!

I have been extremely pleased with Ankeny Sanitation since switching from a competitor. I use them for my business. My bill is much less, and I do not incur ridiculous overage fees costing more than the service. They are quick to respond to any issue I'm having (people digging through our trash). 10 out 10 would recommend!

I am updating the review to 3 stars (vs. 1). A manager replied to my complaint and explained the situation. She provided me with the information needed. I decided to sign up for their service. I do not usually do that, but after some thought I concluded that taking the time to rectify a mistake is respectable.

Very bad customer service, even to get a new customer!

I called Ankeny Sanitation to obtain information about rates and pick-up days.

A lady answered the phone and provided me with the rates, but refused to tell me what the pick up dates are. I asked if I could give her my address to know what are the pick-up days. She said that "it would be a lot of work and she has other calls from other customers." I told her that the pick-up day may have an impact on my decision due to convenience. She responded that "she had given me a lot of information already and that if I called to set the service she would tell me the days."

We had a driver run over a custom fabricated part by accident, instead of coming in and telling us he picked up the part threw it in the garbage truck and pretended it didn’t happen. I attempted to resolve the issue with management and they denied any wrong doing. I can’t run my business like that I don’t know how they think they can. I will be changing garbage removal providers at my home address and commercial address.

If you like being woken up by an extremely loud waste management truck at 5:45 AM, go with these guys. Your neighbors will love it too.

I live in the Augustine development in Johnston, Iowa. I just wanted to pass along to those in charge of Ankeny sanitation that you have an employee by the name of Darren that picks up garbage in our neighborhood on Tuesdays. What a great young man to represent your company. He goes out of his way to pick up on time, move garbage cans and take care of the customers anyway he can! Just a great young man. Please make sure you give Darren a pat on the back for a job Well done!!!

I will say I am impressed. We just got done moving. We downsized, a ton. They have been amazing in helping taking items that generally would not be taken. I called in to tell them how great they were! Use them and them only!

Just witnessed an Ankeny sanitation driver blatantly run 3 stop signs in Pleasant Hill. One of the stop signs had an adult and 3 kids witing to cross the street.Speeding over the 25 mph speed limit and all the garbage had already been picked up.This is extremely disapointing.
