Home Services reviews in West Des Moines, Iowa

Apparently they are contracted to clear power lines in Dallas. That is obviously a worthy task, but in my opinion, they are unnecessarily trashing trees in with no regard for aesthetics or health of the tree. Our neighborhood is a lot less attractive on the streets they work.

While cutting trees under contract by Ameren electric, this company did not respect the properties they worked on. They left piles of sticks all over my yard and did not clean up the area they chipped branches either. I also watched a worker smoking cigarettes in my backyard and throwing them in my grass. Unprofessional and disrespectful.

The absolute worst. Not sure what they are doing in dutchess county, NY but they need some SERIOUS training in controlling traffic when closing lanes.

Jeff, the site supervisor, really took the time to talk to us about our concerns over trimming our beloved Maple. He was patient with our crazy schedule and understanding when we voiced our concerns. He did just what he said he was going to, and left our property without huge ruts or a big mess. Wow I am just impressed with this company. Thank you for your professionalism and kindness. Keep up the good work guys! -east central Indiana loves you!

I did not read reviews before agreeing to a free service. That being said my complaint is lack of care for the trees they were cutting. I specifically and verbally said please only the limbs necessary that r in the way of power lines. Half an hour later the entire half of one side of tree is trimmed back all the way to the top I understand they have guidelines to follow but so many limbs were unnessacrily cut and they threw limbs down into good branches that now they probly have to cut I have to big sycamore trees that provide my yard with good shade. Please be more considerate of the nature that lives in the trees and uses them for shelter this always makes me furious and in tears when they cut my trees in 12 yrs I've lived here they have cut this tree twice I was unhappy both times and different company's please have more respect for wildlife and people property when on it they kept dropping limbs all around my garden some of the garden is protected so probly wont have damage there unless a bigger limb falls I have to watch them do this to a 2nd tree and only one limb was really needed cut on either tree. Please please please stop ruining trees. Mayb it will grow back. I understand about preventative situations and I can appreciate the hard work I'm trying very hard not to go out there and be a Karen right now. This is the weight tree service that covers missouri area.

They don’t clean up, unless directed.
WTS left debris all over my neighbor’s lawn; the pine needles are killing her grass off (from the acidity).
The arborist told us to “chill, I got this.” It should be noted that three neighbors came over to pull all the tree limbs off of her front yard and onto the sidewalk before we were told to “chill…” Furthermore, she wasn’t the one having her tree trimmed-it was another neighbor’s tree-they just dumped all the limbs/branches in her yard.
I’d use a local tree service over these guys (showed up with a Des Moines, IA tag). -
I know these folks get a lot of complaints because of their trimming trees for the power company. Let me tell you about the humanity of this crew working in my neighborhood. I was returning from a walk, dehydrated, and slipped, fell. A supervisor working on my street inquired if I was okay, brought me water, and then made sure I could walk home. Thank you gentlemen!

They did tree trimming at my current residence and left behind a bunch of sticks. They also parked right next to my bedroom window with the truck idling at 7am

If you want an honest tree service contact Cardinal Tree Service.
On top of bad service they having company employees cutting people off at the construction corner of 56th Mitthoefer Road and and yelling out the window like a child. Blonde Male 20 - 30 years of age. One thing to be dumb in a personal vehicle. Really dumb to do either one driving a company vehicle. As a working professional I would find new help if I were the owner. Both occupants -
Unannounced they came though back yard. Unloaded tools and leaned a ladder on steel link fence, stood on fence while working and bent it. Didn't report it to me or leave a note on door. Spent 2 months with emails to main office trying to get fence repaired, they told me I didn't have evidence, even after I shared a picture of their ladder at leaning on the damaged fence with their equipment at that location... really. After I served them via small claims they promptly paid for the fence repair.
Next time Wright, do the right thing up front and prevent bad reviews and sucking all the time out of my life to have to go through a court system. -
Encountered a Wright Tree Service truck as we were heading back home from a failed search for a generator. We've been out of power for 36 hours and counting with no end in sight. The employees in the truck were courteous and so helpful. They were in our neighborhood for a different address, but immediately went to look at the tree laying on the power for our entire road and then called their bosses and got right to work.

Wright was in our neighborhood trimming trees to prevent further storm damage. They did an amazing job and even cleaned up some of the stuff we had already piled up.
They also had an experience with our neighbor who keeps throwing sticks that fall from our trees into his yard, back into our yard. He actually did this while they were out there trimming. Not sure how they dealt with that but it was funny to watch because we've had the same experience.
It was like watching a circus act, I can't believe the amazing feats that they perform. It's just too bad that most people don't appreciate what an essential and dangerous job this is. -
Luckily, I have never needed their service. But I dont know that I would want to use them based on how their drivers drive. This guy flat out ran me off the road TWICE, and when I honked to let him know I was on his right side and to stop coming over, he got in front of me, slammed on his breaks, and would not let me or anyone else pass him.

Horrible people came by unannounced then commence to aim the chainsaw at my dog threatening my dog then dropped a branch on him!!! Y’all are the worst and such pieces of crap employees.

Had some guys on my property (not at my request) doing work for city (I suppose). I asked them politely to stay off the new grass they were stomping on. They ignore me. We're also building my daughter a swing set and have part of it loosely put together - these guys thought it a smart idea to climb on it... While I'm not all that worried about having to repair something - it doesn't look safe or professional (photo attached). I called about it, they weren't all that cooperative and blamed their policies... I was put on hold and probably forgotten. Not surprised to see such a horrible rating on here and equally horrible reviews.

Absolutely awful job of trimming our tree. Don’t let them near your yard if you can avoid it.
-
These guys did tree pruning for city as contractors obviously. HORRIBLE job , left branches in yard, pruned in late July beginning of August!
Definitely don't recommend this company. -
Do not hire this company. They couldn't care less about your property or animals.
This company is apparently contracted by Rocky Mountain Power to keep branches away from power lines - I can see why since probably no one else would hire them. Yesterday they came into my back yard without permission (bad idea with my dog there), and decided to place some big rain barrels on the outside of the dog door so he couldn't get out. They left for the day and did not remove the barrels. It wasn't until the next morning that I realized my dog could not get out (and then it was only thanks to lots of whining and weird behavior where he was trying to tell me). As a result my dog had to relieve himself inside, and has been afraid to use his dog door - I suspect he ran into the barrels and hurt himself before he knew they were there. -
I noticed some deep dually ruts in my yard along the street after a stretch of heavy rain. Thankfully, I had a camera nearby and discovered it was a Wright Tree Service truck and trailer that had pulled into the yard — not sure why they needed to?
Initially, I didn’t expect much. I submitted a message through the contact form on their website and after reading some of their online reviews, I assumed I’d be fixing the damage myself.
To my surprise, I received a phone call from a company representative. After reviewing the video I provided, he came out to assess the damage. It did take a little time for him to get the green light, but in the end, they came back, smoothed out the ruts, laid down new dirt, and seeded the area.
The moral of the story: Maybe try reaching out to them with concerns or complaints before leaving a review. -
While sitting in my vehicle, a worker in their company work truck hit my car door so hard, that it rocked my car, completely startled me. And he didn't even get out to check for damage. THEN when he saw me get out, he said he hadn't hit my vehicle!? And I showed him the white paint, and wiped it off. My car is old, it didn't leave much there at all. BUT the employee was incredibly rude. Truck number is 023221 at 10 on 4-14-25. The man never apologized or anything, just kept going from one lie to another, said he didn't hit it, then said he hit the door handle (which had no paint on it), then when i showed him the paint on my door and it lined up with his door, he said the wind did it, and i wiped it off. Not a truthful person at all.

Wright Tree Service performed trimming services on a tree in my yard on behalf of DTE. This is the butchered, healthy tree that they left behind, and there were several more at other homes on my block.
If you value your trees, I would not recommend using them, as they seem to be willing to do anything for a buck, including leaving unappealing trees that impact property values.
