I recently put a review up on next door for Lawn Starters, praising their good work ethic and how easy it was to schedule and maintain services. Well that review was written by them and only posted it so I could get the bonus on the next service. At that time i was satisfied enough with them to feel OK about posting the review, but the next day, not so much. They drum up business by offering a mow for 19 dollars, then they rope you into a 3 mow minimum. Now I'm new to the lawn care game, so maybe that's fair, but I digress. That's not the big issue. When i called to inquire about the $19 deal i quickly realized that i was on the other end of a sales call. I should have realized right there that this company was more concerned with the bottom line than the customer satisfaction and moved on right then, but i didn't. I got hooked by the pitch and it was only going to be a short term service anyway, so what the heck. During the phone call the sales rep did mention a tall grass fee that would be applied if the grass was over nine inches. He did not mention what the fee was exactly. I told them that i didn't think it was, but later in the call i got a little nervous and took a measuring tape out to my lawn and saw that patches were over nine inches. Again, he did not say what the price was, but he said that the service person would assess the yard and if a fee needed to be applied then they would speak to me about it before providing the service and i would have a chance to cancel! This did not happen! Im not saying the grass was not over nine inches, but that the process that i told would happen was not followed. They slapped me with a 38 dollar fee that i thought I would have the chance to decline. I did complain to them to see if they could rectify the situation. They said they did an internal review and found that the sales rep discussed, in detail, the long grass policy, pricing, and different lengths requiring pre-autherization for service and there was nothing else they would do about it at that time. I did not remember it that way, but i was measuring grass through some of the convo so i thought maybe I missed some of it, but that would have been a lot. So i asked for the recording or a transcript of the sales call just so both parties involved could be on the same page and they refused with the argument, it's our property so we can't give it to you. I understand it was a long shot ask, but it feels like they are gaslighting me and now they refuse to share proof of what actually happened. To top it all off, they charged me $15 to cancel my services. They did have a 3 service min that i did not reach, but considering everything you'd think they could have waived it. Plus my lawn looked just ok after service. I didn't complain to them about it, because of the fee thing, but it was still a bit long. Would not recommend service from them.

LawnStarter as a whole hasn’t been great, just okay. Our first assigned “pro” didn’t reply to messages, rescheduled the day of service, and didn’t show up on the newly scheduled date. LawnStarter customer service couldn’t reach the “pro” and insisted they had until sundown. When the “pro” didn’t show, LawnStarter didn’t offer any discounts or guarantees of replacement service. However, LawnStarter did reassign our account to another pro, who actually responded to our messages and showed-up same day for service.

In the Indianapolis area, avoid Denzell & CDK Landscaping at all costs.

Alvin and Alvin from Forecast Lawn Services were great! They responded to my messages via the LawnStarter app within an hour, showed-up same day, and got the job done. They were timely, got straight to work with two mowers, edged/trimmed, and blew off all surfaces. They confirmed our 2-week schedule and said they’ll message before our next service so we know when to expect them. They agreed to price quote additional services for projects at a future visit. Thank you LawnStarter for sending Forecast Lawn Service and the Alvin’s.

Tyler did a great job on our yard that definitely needed some care.

They show up out of nowhere. Get the mowing and trimming done quickly, with minimal disturbance. Yard looks the best after many years of our armature care. Even my wife thinks the yard, front and back look great. The price is ok

Absolutely BEST mow and trimming service I've ever recieved! Tom was on time and took his time to make sure everything was good. He even cleaned up the trimmings when he finished. Would DEFINITELY recommend. We will be using many of the offered services this year. Thanks Tom

He went over and above working not only mowing but trimming and weed eating. He even hauled off some stuff we did want. Very friendly and professional. Give him all you can. You need more like him.

Would leave 0 stars if I could. Getting someone to actually cut my grass was a challenge. Company’s would cancel and call it due to weather. One guy showed up and said my yard was too big for what they pay him and left.

When I was finally able to have someone show up, my grass was long in the back yard and got charged and additional $60. That’s after I tipped the guy $40 and helped get his mower unstuck twice.

Highly recommend hiring a local person yourself.

Jaime is an excellent and professional lawncare person, he is very good at taking care of my lawn This is my second season with Lawnstarter lawn service. I'm very satisfied with this company and having Jaime taking care of my lawn I always request Jaime every season

I was very pleased with the lawn service I received! Those two guys had a lot of grass and overgrown weeds to start with and they cleaned it all up nicely when they were done!
