We called Johnson Chimney Sweep because the damper would not open all the way and smoke kept backing up. Sarah adjusted and replaced the faulty part during the chimney sweep so now it opens and closes smoothly.

We had been smelling smoke around the fireplace and Daniel inspected the chimney carefully, he cleaned out the buildup and now everything works much better.

I found these chimney specialists when our flue liner needed repair and they handled the relining during the chimney sweep appointment. They showed before and after photos and the difference was clear.

our home chimney had loose bricks near the top and we were kinda nervous about safety. They repaired the masonry and sealed everything up so it worked well and looked better too btw. The results were AMAZING and the draft is alot better now.

Michael and brandon was extremely helpful with telling me exactly what they will be doing and walking me through the steps. They answered every question I had, and was such gentleman with making sure there wasn't a mess on the floor. They (Avery I believe) did an initial inspection of my chimney. The technician seemed very good and told me I would get the report in my email at the end of the day. When I got the report it didn’t have the information he told me would be included. Since then dealing with them has been completely frustrating. I have to call them multiple times per day and they take a message and then don’t call me back - other then one time. That conversation was with Dustin - he promised me a quote by the end of the day (that was last week). Ironically, I am begging them to give me a quote on an expensive chimney replacement - which you would think they would want to make that money. Apparently they are trying to avoid making money - I will never understand it. Two days ago they assured me I would get a call the same day - I am still waiting.

I called in to ace chimney to have a few questions answered about my fireplace and the services that are needed to keep it in good condition, I spoke with Liz and Sharon and they were so knowledgeable and helpful. While I didn’t book an appointment now I will definitely call back and book with their company because of the great service they provided

Honest good people. I was having issues with my fireplace. It is a brand new vent less insert that was put in by Grate Balls a Fire (another fireplace company in Louisville) I could never get a hold of anyone at the other place and my fireplace was putting off major gas fumes. I had no idea why. I purchased my first home and only had limited information on the fire place. I called Ace to try and get some help and Ace returned my call with in the hour and she spent a good 30 min going over possible issues and solutions. I originally thought I was going to have to put in a whole new fire place that had a vent, so we scheduled an estimate. When the estimate guy came out from Ace .. he could smell the gas as soon as he came in the door. He immediately started to rearrange the logs on the fireplace and told me that was my issue. When I asked him if it needed a cleaning, he was honest and said no. (saving me 150 bucks) When I asked him if he would advise that I get a fireplace with a vent due to safety, he stated no. (saving me a few grand and headaches) Thank you for being so honest and caring about your customers. What is amazing is that I am not even a customer but a potential one. They didn't even charge me to come out for the estimate or for rearranging my logs. If I ever need maintenance or service done on my fireplace. Ace will be my first call! Honest good people!

Lance and Brandon showed up on time and were very friendly. They explained everything about my chimney and gas logs and the appropriate repairs needed to make it safe and more efficient. They gave an estimate right there and no pressure at all to do anything. Their estimates for the initial cleaning and follow-up repairs were fair. I highly recommend Ace Chimney Sweep!

I highly recommend getting second look from another company...

While they were great on the phone with scheduling, and showed up on time (the only reason they are not getting one star). The overall service, value and follow up after performing their initial consultation could not have been worse. They apparently perform work on 100's of chimneys across the city per year but wanted to charge me nearly $8,000 (yes, you read that right...eight thousand dollars) just to put up scaffolding to start the repair job. The rest of the quoted bill was in their eyes a good value, at a meager $13k +. Again, you read that right... For an added kick in the gut, my wife and I had to contact them on four separate occasions just to get this outrageous quote delivered to us. We paid around $350 for an inspection report (two fireplaces, one chimney) and then had to wait four or five weeks for them to deliver it. Their excuse, "we had to wait for the scaffolding company we contract through to deliver the quote for how much it would cost to rent the scaffolding". Yes...a chimney repair company that does 100's of chimney a year has to rent scaffolding...I found this to be outrageous! Our chimney at it's tallest point is somewhere between 35-40 feet. I was told by an Ace CS employee that they do not own scaffolding that goes over 25 ft tall.
Reading this, I think it's natural to ponder, "that chimney must have been really messed up for that much money!" After speaking with other masons/chimney repair companies, turns out, it wasn't. We were able to get everything done for less than 1/3rd of the price of what Ace quoted us from a different (reputable) provider.
I would highly recommend getting a second opinion from a different company. This is one of the few times I was misled by what seemed to be very positive google reviews.

Lance performed all repairs and replaced our crown. He and his crew went above and beyond with answering my questions and addressing my concerns. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Ashley, the office manager, also did an awesome job of coordinating the work and always keeping me updated on all the important aspects of the job. I had 7 quotes and found this company to have the right combination.

Mike was EXCELLENT at explaining my issue. I would definitely not only recommend him but will ask for him for any future work.
