I couldn’t explain how incredibly professional and detailed Ace Chimney was. I was looking to have a fireplace/chimney inspected on a house I’m thinking of purchasing and they did not disappoint. They were extremely thorough with their job but what I was most impressed with was the absolute detailed report they had given me. They took down everything they saw and listed exactly what it was, what was wrong with it and why it was important to have it fixed along with pictures showing damage that I wouldn’t have found myself. In the long run probably saved me a lot of time and even more money. Highly recommend!

We had a really gross dirty fireplace from birds nesting in it this summer. They got all the nests and debris and excrement totally cleaned out. I am beyond thrilled! They were very reasonably priced, very friendly and professional, and quick availability.

Hired this company to do an inspection of a fireplace and chimney in the home we bought. The home was built in the 90s and the living room fireplace had never been used. They were on time and did an inspection of the fireplace inside the home as well as the roof area near the chimney. A camera scope was used to view and take images of the chimney chute as well. They reviewed the images with me at the end of the inspection on an iPad. Unfortunately for us, they found dents in the chimney chute that were caused during installation when the home was built and it was recommended that we not use the fireplace until it was repaired due to fire safety concerns. From there, things went downhill. The young man who conducted the inspection provided me with an estimate for the repair — $10,000!! I was gobsmacked. The estimate included tearing out the entire fireplace and chimney unit and installing a new one, adding all new stone work (which he explained he and his dad could do completely custom), a new mantle, etc. I politely explained that I like the current aesthetic and was not interested in spending that kind of money for a dented chimney chute. I asked if it were possible to just repair the chimney chute that was dented. He said that it can be difficult to find the right materials and it would depend on whether the manufacturer of the original chimney still made the same units from which he could order the materials. He explained he would get in touch with the manufacturer and let me know. I literally never heard from him again. I even followed up by phone and spoke with the woman who works in the office, who said she would leave him my name and number. Nope. Never heard a word back. Over $150 for an inspection with no reasonable solutions to the problems they identified. I have very little experience in this field but I spoke with a friend who is a successful contractor and he said this sounded absurd. According to him, the old chimney chute can be removed and a new one installed all from the roof without having to tear out anything inside the home (drywall, existing brick fireplace, etc). Very disappointed with my experience with this company.

We are remodeling my parents mid-century ranch style home. The original fireplace had not been used in a couple of years. We did not want to take chances that everything was fine. We contacted ACE. They scheduled an appointment the very next week, called when they were on their way and were early in their arrival window. Upon closer inspection, they realized we really did NOT need a full chimney sweep so we proceeded with the inspection only. The report is very detailed with the pictures and we have a clear plan moving forward. The guys wore their booties the whole time (we just had the floors done) and were very professional. I would highly recommend them especially for the inspection work.

Mike and his helper were FANTASTIC. Prompt, professional, and very courteous. I am especially grateful for the detailed report that included the manufacturer instructions. Our fireplace unfortunately has to be replaced since it was manufactured in the 90s when our home was built, but we will be contacting Ace for that when we are ready!

We recently had our chimney rebuilt from the roof up and our other smaller chimney received new parts. They did a great job, communication was great through calls and emails. Very professional. They even worked in the rain a few of the days. When one of the head guys was sick one day they even filled his spot with another and still came to do a days work. Thank you

Great service. They did an excellent job of cleaning out chimney and getting in working order again. They did point out some work that I likely need to have done to preserve my chimney, but did not pressure me to make any decisions and emailed me the info for reference. Highly recommend.

Purchased a home with a fireplace and had it cleaned out the first time by a competitor, with such a terrible experience I knew I had to find someone else this year, I was literally in tears with the owner of the competitor over the work they had done. While sadly ACE could not get me on the schedule during their busy season, they booked me at a later date (6 months out), so I was already a bit on edge. I live pretty far out of their normal coverage area. The day before they called to confirmed arrival time, upon arrival I was already a bit more at ease, by the time they were completed, I was positive I would be hiring ACE for the repair work in the future and additional cleanings. The repair work needed was not a shock when they told me after the cleaning and inspection, it was something that was originally located by the home inspector when purchased.

An update that I am so happy to share. The team at Ace Chimney worked until they found a solution to our unexpected dilemma. The manufacturer of our wood burning insert worked with Ace Chimney and a heated flute circulation fan was recommended and installed at no additional charge. This was much appreciated not only because it provided the solution we needed but also because it had been 2+ years of not being able to use our fireplace. Now the fireplace works like a charm -- like we envisioned it would when we invested $6K+ a couple of years ago. We are back to enjoying a nice warm fire every night in the winter like we had prior to this wood burning insert being placed. I credit Ace Chimney's owners and tech team along with Liz and others who stuck in there with us until there was a solution found. Ironically, we kept Ace Chimney as our main source for other fireplace needs in the interim (for outside repair work needed) knowing and hoping that we would continue to work together to find a solution to the wood burning insert/smoke issue that was happening inside. We would recommend Ace Chimney for your fireplace, chimney and outdoor living needs! We will happily continue to have them support our home needs! Thank you so much! :::))))

JANUARY 2025 (previously reviewed with 1-star)
Paid $6K+ a couple of years ago for a wood burning insert to be installed in our lower level open fireplace. Every winter we call Ace because of smoke filling our home from this new insert. After repeated visits and inspections from Ace we were finally told this year it was due to the location and construction of the house!!!! The cold downdraft is so strong it pushes down the chimney into the house!!!! We were instructed to use a heat gun to pre-heat the interior of the insert first before starting a fire. We did, but nope still getting smoked out!! So bad our A/C unit and thermostat in the house alarms continue go off that the interior air is poor and to open up the windows! We smell like smoke and fear we will end up with lung cancer! We are now considering legal action if not resolved once and for all. This has been a first for us. We are continuing discussions in hopes a solution can be found.

Another great job. They came on, did their job, explained what they did and told to call if we had any problems. Thanks! We're ready for winter.....but not just yet 😊
