Went here looking for a Hibiscus and a Weeping Fig. I was told it was too hot for the Hibiscus and they did not have any. The lady did not even know what the Weeping Fig was and she didn't even look it up. I left and went down the street to Moon Valley they had just want I needed. The man even looked up the Weeping Fig. Did not feel valued or cared for at this place.

My sister and I went here to search for a Christmas tree. One of the team members there, Dennis, was very helpful in helping us out in selecting the right tree at the right price and expediting our check out.

This is our 2nd year buying a real Christmas tree 🎄. They have a wide selection. Both times (2020 & 2021) the staff were VERY friendly and attentive without being pushy. I appreciate that...giving us time to make a selection as a family. Our tree was trimmed to our specifications and with instructions on care and suggestions and recommendations to keep it green, our tree last year lasted a decent time.

Reasonably priced nursery with friendly staff.

This location seems the best. There is a good variety of trees, shrubs, etc.I bought many fruit trees and shrubs. Wish they had a better return policy though in case the plant doesn't survive. 30 days is really not enough to find out and then $ 30-40 per tree is lost. I lost several unfortunately. Also I don't understand why they are selling some plants which actually are not recommended for the desert climate.

I love Star but lately their quality in inventory has DRAMATICALLY DECREASED. I was here Thursday and over half their houseplants were in awful shape. From over watering with droopy leaves and drenched soil to half dead root rotted plants. Their Cebu Blues were literally dying and they still had the AUDACITY to have them for sale at full price. For a place that literally sells nothing BUT plants they really don't seem to take much pride in the way they're taken care of once they're out on the shelves. I've already have a few plants from Star die from root rot because the employees literally don't care about the plants and it's SOOO SAD! Also, they keep ordering all the same boring plants over and over again even while they have a ton of the same plants on the shelf. It's like they keep buying them to replace to dead ones. I can't imagine how much money they are losing by neglecting their money makers (plants.) Do better Star before places like HD and Lowes take your customers. Also, Walmart has been having better inventory than Star lately.

This was an anmazing place. I love plants so when i walked in there and saw all of the rare plants with low prices i just had to snag some. The staff was super nice and the place is just amazing. If you love plants and just so happen to be near that nursery you should go. 10/10 would recomend

I love this nursery. They have a gorgeous selection of healthy plants. Best plant shop in town by far.

This place is great. Several locations throughout the LV valley means easy access and good prices. Great selection.. some other nurseries have more variety but charge more.
Bad news? During busy times/seasonally it may be difficult to find common landscaping plants as they get bought out. Check them later to see if they restocked or if another location has what you need.
Gotta mention the staff! Never had a problem they are not always super knowledgeable but they are very helpful.

I've been coming to star nursery for about 6 months now and every experience I have with them has been totally awesome. I went in today to buy my dogs they're treats but didn't find the beef only chicken and the manager and cashier went out of their way to look for some even calling to check if there was any coming in on they're next shipment. They also contacted another one of their stores to find some for me. Feel very appreciated. Thank you to all the staff for looking out for your customers. Especially the manager.

Bought a couple of bush daisies which looked awesome. They have a lot of beautiful plants, flowers, and trees. We love the creeping Rosemary that they sell because when it flowers in December the honey bees are on it all day long. Also their prices are way better than the Lowe's and home Depot for gardening items and plants.

For house plants I strongly advise others to shop elsewhere.
I can't say anything on the commercial or landscape experience. I picked up a cebu blue pothos, headed to the cash registers where there was no one there. I and another customer stood around for 5 minutes or more while 2 workers were talking to a contractor customer at the contractor counter (it says commercial customers only so the other customer and I didn't approach). After they were done, a second group of two contractors who showed up after us came up and made their purchase. When the line was empty the other regular customer just decided to check out at the contractor counter instead and I followed. I took the plant home and quarantined it by itself under a grow light in a separate room. I hadn't watered it for over a week after purchasing and examined the roots to find root rot. It also had fungus gnats and spider mites. I spent $16 on this plant, took the best care of it, and the only way I could save it was to water propagate clippings after thoroughly cleaning off spider mites.

The place is beautiful and the employees are very attentive when it comes to the customers needs or at least thats what Julia displayed during my visit! They were out of the very popular Italian Cypress trees and she asked to take down my number to contact me when they showed. I was like, Yea, right! Not even a few hours later she calls me saying she set one aside, they have arrived! Totally awesome! Great Job Julia and thank you very much. See ya soon!

Had a great experience at Star today. Julia the manager called to let me know the plants I was looking for were in stock and picked the most beautiful ones out for me. I shop here often and all staff is super friendly. I’ll keep returning for all my gardening needs.

Definitely our go to place to stock up on succulents and the correct soil mix for them.

Amanda is the actual breath of fresh air employee who helped me get my beautiful plants but the entire store was great as well. She helped me in like ten minutes find everything from soil to pots to the perfect houseplants that weren’t poisonous at all to my cat and dog. I was just looking at my healthy plants today and it reminded me of the great advice and experience I had at the store. Will be going back for more plants now that I’m getting the hang of it as a first time gardener:)!
