Doesn’t get any better than this place. It is always my first stop. I own a landscape company and highly recommended this place. Great product and even better people!!

We hired a landscaper to redo our front beds. He mentioned Shades of Green when I asked where I should get them. We found that the Nursery in Celina is only 12 miles from us and headed over. We were looking for someone to help and it was only a couple minutes before we did, she said let me get someone to help you. She brings Julie over and I knew we were in good hands right away! She was laid back, funny and listened to everything we said as we walked the property. She had to handle other people as we made our way around so she turned us over to Callie who was also great. I highly recommend this nursery for your plants, they are knowledgeable, easy to work with and we did not feel rushed or lost at all, so that makes me happy!!! Oh, and we took a map to show the area and Julie marked it with a legend and we walked away with a complete successful trip to the nursery :)

Great nursery, especially for wholesale accounts / landscaping professionals. They beat every vendor on price for 99% of plants from what I’ve shopped for clients.

My family and I went to Shades of Green a couple of weeks ago and I was able to get some amazing plants. One was a gorgeous variegated Oleander that my husband potted and we put it on our patio. It really adds to the ambiance we are trying to create. We also got some peonies for our front bed and they are just ready to bloom! I loved shopping at this nursery. Jessica helped us so much to know which plants would be good where we wanted them. She even helped us get everything in our car! We will be back!!

I discovered Shades of Green this fall after asking a friend where she acquired her unique assortment of colorful, lumpy, bumpy pumpkins & gourds.
A super attentive gal, named Hannah, helped me choose my own fun variety of pumpkins as well as the BIGGEST and most BEAUTIFUL mum I have ever seen. For $20 🙌
My niece loved the giant side and spying a couple cats to make friends with. Can’t wait to see what Shades of Green has out this December! 🎄

I have nothing but great things to say. Very kind and friendly staff beyond helpful I would recommend to come. Such a beautiful nursery and so many different selections. When you come ask for Ava & Julie you will be delighted to have them.

This nursery is awesome! Julie was great and helped me pick out the prettiest variegated poinsettia to brighten up my home for the holiday season. I’ll be back for some herb starters and another poinsettia soon. Their selection is amazing and you should definitely stop by or call them for your plant, pottery and landscape needs. Oh, and my kids loved trying to find and pet the cats, so they stayed busy while I browsed.

Just had a fun morning experience with a group event there and learned so much about proper planting and bottom watering for house plants. Julie gave me extraordinary suggestion for Fire Ant control and directed me to the most luscious Rosemary plant. I even saw beneficial nematodes and lady bugs for sale, I believe the Only store in town selling those! I had such a fun time I actually came back before closing and Bill helped me select these beautiful plants for our containers at the office. I love that they specialize in native and adaptive plants so that the purchases are actually worthwhile and don’t just die in our Texas weather. Great facility!

We had my daughter’s 1st birthday party at Shades of Green & it was amazing! They were extremely accommodating, helpful & so nice throughout the entire process! All of our guests couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful it was & how perfect it was for a kids party. We can’t wait to visit again. Thank you!

I have always loved going to the Frisco Shades of Green, and I was equally pleased with their Prosper location. Owned by the same family since the 1970s, S of G has that family feel and pride. Their plant selection is purposefully drought-tolerant, so they won’t steer you wrong when curating the outdoor vibe you’re looking for (no azaleas here!) The plants are healthy, vibrant, and good for Texas!

Fantastic nursery with great selections and knowledgeable, friendly staff. The succulent pumpkin happy hour was a fun event! Julie knows her stuff and had us laughing all night long. We will be going back on a Thursday in October for pumpkin painting.

Very disappointing experience.
From the moment I purchased my items, the service was poor. The employees who assisted me were not kind, helpful, or customer-oriented.

Unfortunately, the experience got worse after the purchase. I bought two Cherry Sky Pencil trees, and both completely dried out and died shortly after I brought them home. When I reached out, I was told that because the purchase was made during a store closeout sale, all sales were final. That is not a reasonable response when the plants may already have been in poor condition at the time of sale.

Between the bad customer service and the poor quality of the plants, this was a very frustrating experience. I cannot recommend this business.

I visited Shades of Green Celina looking for a specific tree to purchase. From the start, the teenage girl at the counter didn’t greet or welcome me, and her demeanor was uninviting. I asked whether they could plant the tree in my backyard, and she had to ask her boss or coworker (answer: they don’t).

My main concern was the complete lack of assistance in the tree garden. I passed the same row three times while one of the staff was helping other customers. She clearly saw me but never acknowledged me, offered help, or even said, “I’ll be with you shortly.” After finishing with her customers, she went straight to help another person who arrived after me. At that point, I left.

This kind of service, ignoring certain customers while prioritizing others, feels unacceptable and discriminatory. I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this business.

We had the best time at the Shades of Green Pumpkin Patch in Celina! 🎃🌅

This place is such a hidden gem — it’s beautiful, peaceful, and full of that small-town charm you can’t find just anywhere. We went for their “Sunset to Sunset” music series on a Thursday night, and it honestly it was one of the best pumpkin patch experiences ever.

The kids had an absolute blast running through the maze, sliding down the big slide, and playing in the corn pit and pumpkin painting while we enjoyed a little live music. There were food trucks, a cash bar, and plenty of space to relax — just bring your own chair and soak in the vibes. 🌮🍹

It’s the perfect spot for families, or just an easy evening out with friends. We’ll definitely be back again before the season’s over. Thank you, Shades of Green, for creating such a fun and relaxing fall experience in Celina Texas! 🎶🎃💛

Never answered the phone, never called back, never showed up.
Edit: I am not talking about the wrong company, unless the phone number you have listed here, is incorrect, which still means you're not reliable... it would show that you can come on here and reply to a negative review, but not update your phone number, or return calls. Either way, I'm not removing my review. I did call, I did reach a voice-mail when I called, and I did leave a message, with my name, and phone number. Never got a call back. I had to use another company. Reviews are here for a reason, and I speak the truth.

I could not have loved working with this company more! They are extremely responsive and perform any service you could imagine. As I move out of my rental, they are one of the reasons I'm sad to go. But I will highly recommend them to my landlord so he can pass along their information to the next tenant. In fact, neighbors across the street were so impressed with my yard they contacted my landlord to find out who was doing it. Love, love, love this company! A+++++

Angela took care of me over the phone and e-mail. She is so sweet and kind. She explained everything about their services. The guys showed up and did a fantastic job cleaning out our flower beds and tree bases adding mulch. I appreciate the time Angela took with me, she made me feel important. Thank you!

If I could give this company negative stars, I would. DO NOT TRUST THE QUOTE THEY GIVE YOU.
I requested a quote and the woman on the phone does her research about the size of my property, the location, etc. She then quotes me a price of about $60 for my first service. They serviced my lawn the same day. Later, I get a charge on my card for $186!!! FOR A SMALL RESIDENTIAL LAWN MOWING SERVICE (no flower bed maintenance, no hedge trimming, nothing extra at all). I called because I assumed this absolutely had to be a mistake but NO. They proceeded to give me the run-around saying it took longer than they thought, they had to bag extra clippings, etc. and without notifying me of any extra fees, labor costs, time, or anything at all, they went ahead and charged my card more than TRIPLE the quoted price! I've talked to 3 different people now and they refuse to do anything about it. They pretty much have a "what's done is done" attitude. It is absolute robbery and misuse of my credit card information. I did not agree to pay that outrageous price! I would not have chosen this company if I knew they were ever going to charge that much! I have never in my life paid almost $200 for someone to mow my lawn. We are a small family with a young child and they shamelessly took our hard-earned money - as much as half our grocery bill - just to mow our lawn. It's extremely saddening how they can take advantage of people they way they did.

I absolutely do not recommend this lawn care service. I signed up with them in December for monthly lawn mowing in the winter, then in March I contacted them because nobody had ever showed up since December! Once they did, I switched to bi-weekly mows for spring. They do not come bi-weekly. They do not come on the day I scheduled. They show up whenever they want. My lawn looks terrible because they barely ever come to my house! If you call their customer service, you instead get 100 excuses instead of an apology and a confirmed next day appointment. The final straw with this company is their deceptive billing. I have an email stating one price for my bi-weekly mows. However, the latest bill I received was higher than the agreed upon price I have via email. Instead of apologizing and correcting the statement, I received an email explaining how my written agreement is wrong.

UPDATE: It seems that the business owner does not want to take accountability for their actions (see below response). When entering an agreement with a client, you cannot make up new agreements without informing the client. I simply asked our bill to be updated to reflect the amount we agreed upon, but instead they refused and became extremely angry (it's actually over $7 - not $6). It's honestly not about the money, but based on one thing: reliability. I never could count on this crew to show up when scheduled nor can I count on them to charge me for the correct amount that we agreed upon in writing. And when confronted about it, I was met with an unprofessional attitude and lies. I've now sent two emails requesting my bill to be updated that way I can pay, but I have received no response. Instead of checking your google reviews, please update my bill and email me back. Thanks!

UPDATE #2: After a few days, On Hand Lawn Care finally updated my bill and I was able to pay in full and cancel my service.

We have used On Hand Lawncare for years. We started using them at our previous home... and in 2016 we brought them with us to our new home. I live on a corner lot so many people see our home. I love driving in the driveway to a well kept lawn. No weeds, well manicured. They are quick and efficient and come on regularly scheduled days. I highly recommend them.
