A TruGreen salesman stopped by while in the neighborhood and left a door knob flyer on my door. I had him come back out and detail what they could do for my yard. After talking about his recommended plan, he put my card on file under the condition that it was NOT TO BE CHARGED until I received a service contract, read through it, and signed off on a plan. I stated this twice during the course of our conversation, which included a phone call with Andrew, a sales manager for the Chattanooga area.

I expressed that my wife has abnormal health issues which I needed to be extremely sensitive to and I wanted to read through the products they used as well as their service plan before finalizing any service plan or payment method. Fast forward several days and I never received any details from TruGreen. No service contract, no information, nothing. During that time, I did my own digging and found that TruGreen uses chemicals closely associated with health issues that my wife deals with, so I texted the sales rep. In that text, I detailed that I never received a service contract to sign or any additional information on the products they use, as I requested during his in-person visit. No emails, no texts, again, nothing. As a result, I told him I was no longer interested in pursuing a service plan with TruGreen due to my wife's health concerns along with their lack of communication/information. Mind you, at this point, I had given zero permissions, AND I never signed anything saying service was to be conducted on my property. Two days later, after arriving home from work, I saw yet another TruGreen door knob flyer on my front door. It detailed a weed and fertilizer treatment performed on my property that day. They then charged my card for the surprise visit.

Needless to say, I am furious, but I want to know if this is standard practice for TruGreen? They never reached out, never set up a scheduled visit, never received any form of written or verbal permission to do this. Apparently having my card on file is all the "permission" they need to conduct business. Lesson learned.

I have reached out and am waiting on a response, but regardless of how things are resolved, I want to warn others so they don't fall prey to this same issue. In my additional reading about TruGreen and its practices, I found they have been subject to multiple lawsuits for false advertisement among other questionable business practices. I'm sure the quality of service varies region-to-region, but my experience with the Chattanooga region has not been pleasant.

Second service for the 2025 season with Tru Green. The technician arrived within the alerted schedule and asked if I had any concerns. After discussing, he went to work and treated our lawn thoroughly… in the rain. I was very pleased to see that he showed excellent work ethic even in the worst of weather. For those who wonder why you would treat in rain, well it allows the herbicide to get into the ground to do it job and saves you money from having to water the lawn. Excellent service!!! Thank you!

TruGreen Lawn Care is the only way to go! Every single service tech that has came to my house has truly cared about my yards needs. The technician Austin was polite and courteous. This was our first treatment so I can’t comment on the results yet.

Andrew did a fantastic job today. I had a few questions that he was able to acknowledge and explain in easy to understand form. TruGreen always provides capable, knowledgeable and friendly service individuals that represent the company. The lawn, of course, doesn’t look bad as well 😁

This year I decided to hire TruGreen to help me with my lawn. My understanding is there was an internal focus to improve the service for their customers in our area. To date, I can say those improvements are working. I personally had the pleasure of working very closely with Shelly. She has done a phenomenal job for me and my family. I would highly recommend giving TruGreen the opportunity to help you with your lawn care needs. They're doing a fantastic job.

Louis did a great job treating the lawn and answered all of my questions. Overall we have been very pleased with the results of our lawn and tree & shrub service.

Today was Josh’s first visit to my home and he was exceptional listening and answering my questions! I don’t understand why TrueGreen doesn’t utilize GPS so my property lines are shown to technicians are aware of my property lines. This was Josh’s first time to my property. I am usually at work when they come but I am currently being treated for pancreatic cancer so I’m home. I also want to thank you for completing restoring my front lawn since TrueGreen has taken over the care! Amazing job!!!

In one application Truegreen managed to kill the grass and leave the weeds in my back yard. I'm devastated. If you read the reviews, this has happened to others as well. I want a manager to call immediately and make this right before I call my lawyer.

I have the greenest grass in the neighborhood also healthy. Half my yard was here when I moved in and was dying. The other half was installed after we moved in. It all looks great now.

Russ was great. Enjoyed talking with him. Explained everything well—identified types of grass and weeds. Then explained what the treatment would be.

No one from trugreen ever comes to the door when they provide service. I always have to track them down and ask for an explanation of what service they are providing. On one occasion I received notification by text that our service was completed but no technician ever came to our house. I called to complain but received no satisfaction.

Perfect experience. I believe our issue has been resolved with a touch-up service. Very professional.

Our Bermuda hadn’t been treated professionally in 2-3 years when I turned to TruGreen. I never thought my grass would look as good as it does in 6 months! Some of our weeds could never be controlled with another service but they are gone in one season. Customer service has always been great also!

A massive invasion of privacy, punish companies that use these practices. Cancel your service and work with a local lawn care business!

TruGreen treats other lawns in my neighborhood, so I had high hopes their service would work on my lawn. I signed up for a pre-paid 6 treatment program.

The first treatment worked really well on getting rid of the clover.

Unfortunately, this is where the positive review ends. Once the first treatment was done, I've had dalisgrass completely take over my yard.

The second treatment was just a granular fertilizer. 5-6 weeks later the third treatment happened. I mentioned my concern with the dalisgrass to my technician. He said this treatment would help, and sprayed my lawn.

However, about 5 minutes after he left we had a thunderstorm that dropped over an inch of rain!

I called the company and told them it rained, and was told someone would be back out in a couple days, due to the heavy rain.

I didn't hear from anyone from TruGreen, so I called again. This time I was told definitely someone would be out to my house in 2-3 days.

10 days and counting, not one person has contacted me or visited my property.

So basically, I pre-paid for an entire year of treatments, and only the first treatment worked on the clover.

I feel completely cheated out of my hard earned money I spent on trying to get my lawn looking good.

I hope TruGreen makes this right, fixes my lawn and provides the services I was promised when I signed up for their treatment plan.

After over a year of having TruGreen treat our lawn for weeds, crabgrass and fertilizing the lawn for grass growth, our yard has never looked worse. I’m convinced they did nothing to our yard when they came out to ‘treat’ the yard. I would not recommend TruGreen to anyone.
