We have had Griffith for a very long time and they have been great. A lady named Sheila (? Spelling) is the Best and gets to the bottom of things and is very knowledgeable and if she does not know it, she finds out and calls you back, she is a Great asset to Griffith and needs to be rewarded for this. Now, there is one person that I talked to first when I recently called in her name is Tera and she was the worst person I have ever dealt with. This Tera needs to be checked her calls etc. I called in she was rude, etc. I asked concerning delivery and she rudely said I has on hold because we didn't pay, not so (Sheila got to the bottom of it fast later). I kept asking Tera about what she said, she talked over me would not answer base questions and I said we were up to date in payment she rudely hung up on me without checking anything out and said call back for someone else. Tera would not even help in any matter and just hung up! I called back and got Sheila and she saw the problem went to check it out and got back to me right-away and we did not owe anything! This Tera if talking to me this way. Not checking anything out and rudely hanging up after a couple of mins does this to us a Great Business Customer than I can imagine what she is saying and not doing for other customers! Tera needs to be retrained or put in a different function for she will loss Griffith a lot of customers. Hope Sheila is a Mgr for the way she handles customers she should be. Even with Tera's bad attitude Griffith, Mike Murphy, Sheila and some others in their management team, forgot their names are a true 5.
Deal with this company but Not Tera!

I live in Perryhall MD. My furnace was not working properly. A technician came out James Brown. He was very nice took care of everything very considerate,Professional, and very knowledgeable in his field. I had bad feelings about Griffith in the past, but James explained everything he was doing. I just want to say Mr. brown is excellent. I am very very pleased with the service. Thank you.......

I left at least 3 messages with customer service to have the service manager call me regarding an issue in January 2025. It took a very long time to even get to a person and after the third call the rep did acknowledge that she saw other notes on my account regarding my request to speak to a manager about tech's $1000.00 quote to repair the whistle. Very bad customer service. Still have not heard from anyone. I miss Murphy's!!

First, let me say we deal with the Baltimore office. We had our AC go out. I waited two days for techs due to the office telling me one thing and apparently the techs something else. The third day I waited most of the day and a part needed to ordered. Waited for the part and it was installed. That was apparently not the issue. Called again and a tech came- we are now at day four of needing to miss work. The part came and again that part wasn’t the issue. Part ordered and a tech came today, but it was raining so they had to reschedule. Now it will be six days off work. In the meantime, I called and messages were supposedly sent to the service department. No one called back. I even left a voicemail and was not called back. I want to say that the techs have been great, but the office is extremely unresponsive and don’t seem to care at all. Very disappointing.

After 20+ years of paying for service contracts (over $800 this year), current Griffith management and service cost me $2000 out of pocket to repair their own mistakes. A condenser drain pipe not threaded properly on install four years ago eventually leaked enough to stain 20 sq ft of carpet outside the furnace room. Yet 3 different Griffith techs over 2 weeks could not diagnose the leak and instead blamed the new roof (costing me $650 for leak testing to no avail) and said I might need a new furnace (after purchasing one from Griffith just 4.5 years ago) and probably a new tank (I just painted mine). My own tech found the leak in 3 minutes and fixed it in 20 minutes with parts from Home Depot. A professional steam cleaner cleaned the carpet for $250.

Three Griffith techs failed to find a leak, caused by a Griffith installer, that a private mechanic found and fixed in 20 minutes. Their techs quit constantly in constant turnover. Moreover, the "annual maintenance" tech installed the humidifier pad upside down that would have also leaked eventually, according to Griffith's own subsequent tech. After several calls Griffith sent a new tech to reassemble the furnace before cold weather after another tech disassembled it, trying to find the source of the leak. They did not send the "expert" tech promised nor at the time scheduled with no advance warning or apology.

The management local and regional "sympathise" online and during a phone call after my negative review, then do nothing, not even call back these past four weeks. When called for reimbursement for additional expenses incurred, no one returned the call.

I am curious to see how Griffith management responds to this legitimate fact-based complaint. They have not bothered to call me to rectify or even apologise for this poor service, despite my negative survey to Griffith. I found no corporate number to call online. Maybe this review will warrant a call and compensation. If so, I will update this review.

Ten days later....still no return call from Griffith, after calling the number they publicly posted. Pathetic.

Griffith’s service has been disappointing—I don’t trust them with deliveries or payments. The phone staff, especially Tera, are incredibly rude, with the exception of maybe two people I’ve spoken to. However, Service Tech Mike is excellent! If they had more employees like him, their reviews might improve.

I am do grateful for Sharon and Sue!! They have been a huge help and support to me for all the thousand years I have been a customer. They have infinite amounts of patience and work hard to solve the problem as realistically as possible. They have been the calm and hopeful voice when the furnace has not worked or the gas did not get delivered when expected as well as helping to figure out how to pay/ manage the bill. They are a true gift to Griffith and I would recommend anyone to use Griffith because of them!!!

This company is absolutely terrible with heating oil and near criminal! We started having problems when we were quoted one price and billed another, but that was just the beginning. We were supposed to be on auto delivery but ran out of oil TWICE in the middle of winter because these people did not deliver, despite receiving payment. We finally cancelled everything with Griffith because we didn’t want to deal with their headache anymore. Sure enough I came home about 2 weeks later to a Griffith oil truck in my driveway. I immediately stopped the driver who had already filled the tank about 3/4 of the way, and I explained that we aren’t customers anymore. He connected me to a manager who told me there must’ve been a mistake, and I would just pay a discounted rate. I appreciate the discount, but I was not able to drop 2 grand because of their mistake! I tried to reason with them and get them to come pump it out. Of course they claimed they couldn’t do that and insisted I pay almost $2100 for their mistake. After going back and forth with them for a few weeks we moved and the new owners agreed to pick up the account linked to our former address. I wish them the best of luck with Griffith but they really did not work out for us. Never have I had an oil company continue to pester me so badly despite having a closed account.

$300 for a $40 thermostat. $70 to unplug and plug in a "loose wire". Can't get in touch with management. We tracked down the part they said that they had ordered a week ago only to find that the distributor had it in stock, then the distributor had to call Griffith because it was never actually ordered. Oh and did I mention that they've yet to fix our mailbox that they destroyed with our neighbor as an eyewitness. Not only unethical, but bordering on illegal

Recently I put in a service call to have the yearly tune up scheduled. The technician came out about 8:30 am and started the job but needed a part that was not on the truck. He called dispatch to let them know he needed to get the part and come back to finish the job. Dispatch told him to go to the next job, they had someone in the area to come and finish the job. The next technician, Jim Brown, came out and worked on the job for hours. He never gave up or showed any frustration. He was pleasant and tenacious. He finished the job about 5:30 pm and went on to his next job. A big shout out to Jim Brown for his outstanding service and positive attitude. Jim gets five stars from me!

Five stars to the customer service agents, especially the wonderful and persistent Sheila, and one star for whoever was in charge of our installation. The sub-contractors came to our house, realized the part ordered by Griffiths was too large for our crawl space and then sat in the driveway for 3 hours, waiting for a callback from the service dept. which apparently, they never got, so they left. I then waited 3 weeks for someone to call me back to tell me what was happening despite 7 phone calls from me. It was the amazing Sheila who wrote emails to the service dept. until we finally have a meeting today with a technician to find out what is going on. I have always been impressed with the knowledge and thoroughness of the technicians so have great hope. Also, a new person is now in charge of scheduling installations and she was very helpful too. Hopefully we can get this squared away because I have always been very happy with Griffiths before!

We used Griffith for years. Now, I'm wondering why I put up with there terrible customer service for so long. For about 4 years straight, we ran out of oil at least once per winter (even though we were on their autofill program). There was no sense of urgency to fill our tank ever. I would call, wait on hold and then be told they were coming out the same day. Typically they were a no show, then I'd call the next day and the same thing happened, even though we had no heat (often when temps were well below freezing). This happened again a month ago. When Griffith left us high and dry, I called a local company and they came out to fill our tank that day. Now when I call the new company, I get a local person who helps me immediately. Griffith is a bit of a nightmare and there are much better options.

I just worked with Peter DeRosa and he was very patient and friendly to work with. I leave a very busy schedule in his tolerance was very good when it came to me missing calls and messages, but we eventually spoke and worked out a beautiful arrangement for my Oil services. I was pleasantly surprised to find that customer service is alive and well at Griffith Energy and Peter DeRosa really made it a pleasure to do business.

I was happy with the service until I was surprised with an unexpected under use charge. They charged a $100 fee for not using enough gas throughout the year. This fee was not communicated beforehand and seems like a shady business practice. I will be looking for an alternative provider.

I highly recommend Jeanie for all of your needs. She takes the time to carefully explain and take care of her customers. She is extremely knowledgeable and a joy to work with. Thank you for all of your help, Jeanie we appreciate you!

We used up all our fuel celebrating Thanksgiving!! Within hours of waking up to a chilly house the kind and efficient team at Griffith Energy had our tank refilled and the heating system up and running smoothly again. THANK YOU.

I have had outstanding dealings with everyone at Griffith's, but Jeanie is one of the friendliest people on the phone. She goes above and beyond to help with whatever we have going on at the time.

We have been customers of the previous Quality Oil since 2003. When Griffith Energy took over we were a bit skeptical but the Customer Service and the attention to detail that’s been provided by Miss Sharon at Griffith Energy is top notch and I would recommend Griffith Energy and Sharon to any of my family and friends.

On November 25, 2024 my furnace was serviced by Griffith energy for a season restart. On January 6 I woke up to a cold house. I called Griffith energy services. They informed me that something was broken within my system and they had a hold on the account. This information was not communicated to me as a customer. I had no oil in my tank and they were not able to come do an emergency refill until Tuesday at 10:30 PM. This was only after six phone calls with the company to try and get the system restarted. The service guy Neil put 10 gallons of oil in the tank and it lasted until around noon on Wednesday the seventh. so I called again. And I was told that I was going to have service on Wednesday evening between 7 and 11 PM but no one showed up. After another phone call I was informed that we were rescheduled for Thursday morning eight until 12. The issue is is that no one has communicated what the Problem is, how to solve the problem with the furnace or when people are coming. I work full-time and I’m not at home during the day for service calls to be made on my behalf unknown to me. additionally I found the Griffith energy services bill within my mailbox, indicating that they filled the tank up yet the system does not work and the last time was told it was unsafe to fill the tank up. I would love some answers on what is going on with my service what is going on with my tank and when people are showing up. I guess after six hours this week of being on the phone with the service I’ll spend some more time on the phone with them trying to figure out what the heck is going on. If I could give less than one star, I would. the communication is absolutely so poor. I’m cold and I’m frustrated and a 45° house with no idea how or when it’s gonna be fixed.

Don't trust these people. When they initially responded to my AC repair their Tech will suggest you are covered by a service contract that was initially setup when I purchase a new AC System.
The reality is they dropped that coverage years ago. Supposedly a letter was sent out. No one in my house remembers such a letter.
Will because of these devious practices I'm dropping all my purchases with Griffith. No Oil, No Service-nothing anymore.
There's a reason why they only have a 3.6 rating.
