If I could give this company zero stars, I absolutely would. I scheduled an appointment yesterday to have my pipes assessed for cleaning. From the start, I had a bad feeling — the person who answered the phone was rushing me through the call, clearly more concerned with getting off the phone than answering my questions.

Fast forward to this morning: the dispatcher calls at 8:35 AM — thirty-five minutes past my scheduled appointment time of 8:00 AM — to tell me the technician is “on the way.” I politely asked how far out the technician was, only to be told he was 58 minutes away due to traffic.

I explained that I had to leave for work soon so that would not work. They were already extremely late. That’s when things escalated in the most unprofessional way. The dispatcher became rude and hung up the phone. I couldn’t believe it. I immediately called back hoping to speak to a manager, only to be completely ignored. No one would answer the phone.

This is hands down one of the most disrespectful and frustrating customer service experiences I’ve ever had. Avoid this company at all costs — they do not value your time, your money, or basic human decency.

You typically get reviews from people when they just got work done and you can only measure it by that time frame. This review on the other hand is not that. Zoom drain came to replace my sewer line in 2017 , yes 2017 . When flushing the toilet the water would spill into the basement so I would have to clean up the water and whatever else came with it. Needless to say I was not a happy camper. I called Zoom drain and they came to the rescue. It’s been so long but I believe it was James who came and was so professional and had great customer service. His team was amazing. They fixed the line and clean out. Fast forward to 2025, it is still working properly. I have no issues. Im so pleased. Please use them because their work is amazing.

Do not use Zoom Drain if you need major work. My main sewer line to my septic tank break underneath the foundation of my house. They came highly recommended by our normal plumber and were responsive however were not in any rush. They sold themselves as a "one stop shop" and stated the could get it all done in three days. The head plumber stated he would even speak to my insurance company himself if there were issues. It was a good feeling.

Now the problems. It took them a week to get started and only when they had a down payment. Early in the repair I asked for pictures, diagnostic and itemized bill for my insurance. They assured me they would do it as well assured me everything would be back to the way it was. All this time, since the break, we couldn't use any bathroom or sink in the house. The original timeline must have been talking full work days because they only showed up for a few hours a day and the timeline kept shifting further and further. They broke up the foundation, started digging, breaking up the old pipe. On the fourth day a new crew showed up and was gone in about 30 mins without even letting us know they left. After calling to complain they sent the original crew back out the next day. They had to take apart and fix what the other crew did. After two weeks they finally fixed the pipes however their concrete crew was horrible!

I HAD a partially finished basement. Now I have a line of F##KED up concrete complete with cracks and holes in my FOUNDATION! I have called repeatedly and the dispatch lady continues to say "well see what we can do to fix it" then never returns a phone call. My insurance continued to call for weeks requesting the information and we keep getting run around. The dispatch lady actually hung up on my insurance company when they asked to speak the the manager. I have tried to find their physical address to go in person and no luck. It been over a month since the work was "complete" and no one has yet to respond to any message. Don't waste your time with them. Now I'm going to have to hire another crew to come in and fix their work and put me out of even more money...

Zoom Drain came out to clear a clog two weeks ago. They told us that in snaking the drain, they’d discovered our external line was damaged and would need to be entirely replaced. They said that they would need to jackhammer our basement floor, and that the full process would cost $24k (but don’t worry, they would take off the $600 from clearing the clog!) Despite the high-pressure sales pitch we decided to get a second quote. The second company came out and twice inspected the line with their camera. Not only did they say there were no leaks found, but that the cost of the fix would only be $9k if it were.

Fine for snaking a drain when you need same day service but absolutely never trust this company for anything beyond that. Really unconscionable.

Replaced Sewage line from "under my basement" out to the "backyard". I was referred to them by a friend who had their sewage line replaced. It was quite the job.

My sewage line was 13 feet below the backyard and 5-6 feet below the basement floor. It was at one of my rental properties and James and his crew were great even when the tenants weren't always on the same page as James, his crew and I. He left the areas clean and neat. I just had to get the tile redone. Once tile was done, his team put my bathroom back together! CALL Zoom Drains from Essex - James and his team are great!
