We recently had to replace our roof and used Remi Roofing, who partners with Sunrun Solar to remove and reinstall solar panels at a discounted rate. Remi Roofing has been absolutely fantastic—professional, responsive, and efficient every step of the way. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Sunrun.
Sunrun has been horrible to deal with. They rarely answer their phones or return calls, and their permitting process has taken forever. It’s been over three months since this project started. Our roof has been done for weeks now, but Sunrun is still dragging their feet on the necessary permits to reinstall our panels.
There’s been zero sense of urgency or communication from their end, and the delays have been incredibly frustrating. I would strongly caution anyone considering Sunrun—once they have your business, it seems impossible to get timely service or clear updates. Remi Roofing deserves 5 stars, but Sunrun gets a hard 1 star from us.
Picture for reference of the solar panels that have been sitting in our backyard for 3+ weeks. -
I worked with David Zadeya who was very helpful and communicated every process up until the panels were installed. This was 4 months ago and to this day my system is not yet turned on both David and Nate Krape who is the activation expert will not take my calls even after calling countless times over the 5 months period

I wouldn't use this service to install your panels. I had my panels installed a year ago and they have since stopped working. Because I bought and own my panels outright sunrun won't even come INSPECT without us paying them $600 for the inspection. Mind you, we have a warranty with them.
What's even better is, I spoke on the phone with customer service, who said that this is a "common issue" (the panels not working). So if you buy your panels, there's a chance they give you faulty equipment that will fail in order to get extra money out of you. Price you pay for not doing their "leasing/subscription" model of charging you every month. -
I want to share my experience with Sunrun Solar, specifically related to negotiations for a potential solar lease and the associated roofing proposal.
Important caveats up front:
1. I only worked with Sunrun during the negotiation phase and never moved forward with installing solar panels.
2. Their representative, Alexandria, was exceptional—professional, responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely customer-focused. She deserves five stars on her own.
3. I did not obtain an independent roofing estimate directly from Remi, Sunrun’s roofing partner. So I can't fairly speak to Remi roofing in this review.
Initially, I was hesitant to pursue Sunrun because leasing solar systems generally costs more long-term than owning a system outright, especially when energy independence is a goal. That hesitation changed when the first Sunrun representative who visited our home explained that Sunrun could offer up to $10,000 in credits toward a roof replacement, which significantly improved the overall value proposition and led us to continue discussions.
At the same time, I obtained multiple roofing estimates from highly rated and well-regarded roofing companies in the Orlando area. These companies were recommended locally, had strong Google reviews, and provided complete, high-quality roof replacement proposals. Their estimates consistently ranged from $18,000 to $19,000, depending on options.
The deal ultimately fell apart when Sunrun informed us that a roof replacement through Remi would cost $25,000. When I asked for clarification, I was told that $25,000 was the price after the credits were applied, not before. This implied that the underlying roofing cost was dramatically higher than what reputable local roofers were charging for comparable work.
This pricing discrepancy was concerning on its own, but it also caused us to question what other costs might be inflated under the hood within the broader Sunrun proposal. At that point, both the financial value and our trust in the overall offering were compromised, and we decided to walk away.
While I cannot speak to Sunrun’s installation quality or long-term service, my experience during the negotiation phase raised serious concerns about pricing transparency. Alexandria, however, was consistently professional and helpful throughout the process and is a true asset to the company. -
Just want to share our appreciation and thanks for our Sales Rep Myles Jackson, he did a excellent job of walking us through process and explaining everything. He made the process much easier then I ever thought possible. He was always quick to respond to any questions we had and also check in with us during the whole process. Myles also handle our neighbor Claudia Cook, who we referred, awesomely, we have talk to many people about our experience and would gladly recommend Myles and Sunrun, thanks again.

This company is very aggressive and not respectful of a consumer’s polite “no”. I gave the initial sales person, Jerry, a chance to give the pitch on solar and later settled on not being interested. Since then, sales reps have knocked on my door weekly, asking for me by name, and trying to give the same pitch.
I have asked to be removed from their calling sheets and their walking routes. Each time the reps (they typically come two at a time) are holding iPads, claiming to make note of this so that I will not be visited in the future, and yet, the knocks continue.
It also doesn’t help that the reps approach my house (which clearly has a doorbell camera that they are using/ringing) having vulgar, profane conversations, which are being recorded.
If I ever have a change of heart and want to have solar panels installed, this company easily went from being first on the call list to not an option at all, simply because they refuse to respect me respectfully declining their services on multiple occasions. -
Writing a few months after the set up, It felt like they were focused entirely on making a sale rather than creating an effective system. They filled our roof with panels simply because there was space, not because the placement made sense for sunlight. The truth is, the sun barely hits our roof directly, so the panels don’t produce what they should.
What makes this worse is that my father is very old and doesn’t really understand much about solar energy. It feels like the salesperson took advantage of that — just pushing the most expensive setup possible without explaining things clearly or considering what would actually work best for our home. I listened in and the salesman came across as friendly at first, but looking back, it feels like he used that friendliness to build false trust and push a sale rather than genuinely help us understand what we were buying. I’m aware that sales persons gets money if they have a sale and that was obviously his motive. In the end, it seems like they cared more about money than honesty or performance. A friendly neighbor who has worked in solar Engineering in the past came and told us his opinion of it, and it was disappointing. To have somebody come knock on our door and give their opinion on it means something. I definitely will have to wide share this with my community to watch out because nobody deserves this. The production crew, on the other hand, was very kind and professional we even gave them snacks and they interacted with us very well. And don’t send me a useless reply, saying I’m sorry for your experience either I need action NOT apologies. -
I had an excellent experience with Sunrun Solar, and the entire process was seamless from start to finish. Michael Brothers, in particular, went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. He guided me through every step of the way, answering all of my questions and addressing any concerns I had. One thing that really stood out was his trustworthiness—he was upfront, clear, and reliable throughout the entire process.
During installation, Michael even came onsite with donuts and drinks for both our family and the workers. It was a thoughtful gesture that showed how much he values customer relationships and the people working on the project. It’s rare to find that level of personal care and professionalism. I highly recommend Sunrun Solar, and especially Michael, for anyone looking to make the switch to solar energy! -

We couldn't be more pleased with the service provided by CS KOIDA! They recently replaced all the lights in our restaurant with energy-efficient ones, and the process was seamless from start to finish. The best part? They went through a program where BGE covered the majority of the cost, which made this upgrade incredibly affordable for us.
The team at CS KOIDA was not only efficient but also incredibly flexible. As a restaurant, we have specific scheduling needs, and they worked around our hours to minimize disruption. They came fully prepared with a large crew, and managed to complete the entire job in just one day, which was impressive.
From the initial consultation to the final installation, the entire experience was smooth and professional. Our restaurant looks brighter and more modern, and we're already noticing savings on our energy bills. We highly recommend CS KOIDA for any electrical needs—thank you for such outstanding service!
