One of the guys pulled a gun out on me and my boyfriend because we asked could he show us what he fixed and he refused. I guess because I only rent and I’m not the property manager he doesn’t feel the need to have to show me what was fixed. Please don’t use this company, RASICT

I highly recommend E K Rickett & Sons. I had to replace my old HVAC blower motor after it burned out earlier this year, and soon realized that doing the job myself was going to be more difficult than anticipated. After searching a few companies who either were charging an exorbitant price or who would not use a part they had not provided, I found E K Rickett & Sons, and I could not be more satisfied. The technician was on time, he kept me informed during the entire process; he was prompt, and best of all the charges were very reasonable. I would not hesitate to use this company again, and plan to if/when needed. .

My experience was terrible and need to take the time to write this review so someone else may avoid what I went thru. First let me say I originally made outreach to this business based on the positive reviews on Google. My first service call to this business went smoothly and in the end was charged $250 for freon. It was a bit high of a cost (I think we only needed a pound of freon), but we wanted someone that day to repair and we have an older unit so were glad that was all it needed. Fast forward a few months later, ac is not properly working again and the unit in the basement has a slow leak. Contact E K Rickett & Sons again and the next day the send a technician he informed us the leak was due to the ac coils freezing over and we need to defrost overnight and don’t turn on the ac. Bad news because it is 96 degrees outside, so it feels like 100+ inside. But technician said he would be back the following day at 10:00am to recharge the ac and we should be good to go. Well, next day...No call no show. I called customer service at 11am to inquire on the status and was made aware that did not know the technician recommended we unfreeze the coils overnight and that now that I was calling their office they are aware someone needs to come back. I remain patient as miscommunication between tech and the office may happen. I was also told they can send another technician as soon as he completes a job in DC. Three hours later 2pm, I call back to check the status and was told they were just about to call me back and he has just two more jobs and he is headed my way. Approximately 30 minutes later technician shows up, no mask, and now we are told we need to replace the entire unit for 3K although the previous technician, from the day before noted the ac simply needed to be recharged after the coils were unfrozen. Long review but an honest one; poor customer service, inconsistent recommendations and in the end nothing was done to resolve the issue. Fortunately, a family friend has referred us to their contractor who recently resolved the same issue we had with the frozen coil. God willing I will have a positive review to submit for them in the near future.

USE THIS COMPANY! I have the unique experience of having two locations served by this local company. One location had an entirely new system installed from the ground up; pricing was great, staff was fantastic, work was completed quickly. Secondly, was a repair, a repair that other companies wanted to avoid and just make a new system install ($Thousands$) it's nice to have an HVAC company that will be honest and straight with you especially when it's a function of our home that we don't understand. I'm happy to call this company "my hvac company"....for life!

E.K. Rickett was referred to us by our basement contractor & I'm glad they did. They replaced a furnace and did annual maintenance on our other units. They offer very good prices, and came out the same day when our heat pump wasn't working properly. They are always kind and very friendly. I highly recommend them.

They are lovely people, but in the last year they have been to our house 4 times to fix various issues with our HVAC. We have spent over $1,000 with them. I really like them as people, but more comprehensive service would be preferred.

I recently had the opportunity to have my HVAC system serviced by Aaron. He arrived on time, was courteous and professional and did a thorough job of inspecting and cleaning my system. I was very pleased with the service he provided and as a result I plan to continue with a service contract for future Spring and Winter cleaning.

Great response time. Josh, the technician, was knowledgeable, professional, and able to resolve my AC problem in less than 20 minutes. I'd recommend this HVAC company to all ... with special praise to Josh as an excellent technical representative of the company.

Great Company!! Doug was great on fixing my heating unit (boiler) that had some minor leaks in the valves. He showed up at a reasonable time and the price was low. I also have used this company for my A/C unit and Doug got my unit running properly in no time plus it was on a very hot summer day last year. Wife and I don't have any complaints we will continue to use this company for our heating and HVAC units repairs or regular maintainces.

We called Dick's HVAC to have our gas fireplace serviced for the winter. Our fireplace needed a good cleaning and had an issue where it would shut off after a bit. It was also a pain to get the pilot light lit. Aaron came out to help us. He even showed up 2 hours earlier than the appointment time we were given. He was very professional and respectful. He cleaned up the fireplace and fixed the pilot light somehow and the fireplace hasn't gone out by itself since. Thank you very much Aaron.

Patrick arrived timely, after his call. We discussed our concerns and the last service call from last year. He quickly checked out the compressor, the filter (replaced 2 weeks ago) and the condensate pump. Good news- no additional Puron needed, Every thing checked out good. Whew - Relief. We have used Dicks AC & Htg as our service provider for HVAC needs for four decades now. Always pleased with their response & service. Richard & Jean

They adjusted the appointment time to meet my needs. Technician quickly diagnosed and repaired the problem. Heater's working great now. I should have called them sooner. Highly Recommend.

Had our oil furnace thoroughly cleaned and could not have been more pleased. Also had an oil tank that was precariously "leaning" and that was completely addressed as well. Had recently had major chimney work (with furnace flue in the chimney) and now have peace of mind that all is in working order.
Excellent knowledge and experience with oil furnaces and I would not hesitate to give a 5 star plus rating.

Dick's repairmen promptly came to our rescue on two occasions, and fixed our furnace issues before the house had time to get cold. Friendly and knowledgable repair guys. The service call price was much lower than the quote I got from Southern Maryland Oil.

They were exceptional!!! The heater had broken at my Mom's and they came out the same day. They offered to find the parts to fix the 23 year old heater but we decided to buy a new one. They showed up early today (the very next day) and installed the new heater!!! Very professional...will recommend them!!!

September 2017 - I've had both a repair visit and an installation visit in the last couple of weeks. For the repair, the technician found the problem very quickly and resolved it. The installation visit was for a humidifier and Air Scrubber. The team was on time and got right to work. I'm looking forward to having humidity in the air this winter. The Air Scrubber seems to be reducing the dust in the house already. I am very happy with the quality of work provided by Dick's.

The service by all the three men was excellent they were professional on time and thorough. I especially like the way the last workmen to leave the house (Trey Brown) went to the house to ensure no debris or trash had been left. I see why my father’s been using you all for at least the last 30 years thank you.

When I purchased my home in 2013 the previous homeowner left a list of companies he used. I called Dicks that year for a maintenance check, I was happy with the technician they sent out, how he went about doing the work and I have been dealing with them ever since. I’m happy with the company.

Dick's has serviced my heating and AC unit for years. They are very reliable. I recommend their service. On the most recent visit Patrick took apart the outside unit and completely cleaned it out. Couldn't ask for better service.
