Had them come out to diagnose an issue with the AC. They couldn't do it with my system and didn't charge me for the diagnosis fee. Even recommended questions to ask the next contractor. I appreciate their honesty and willingness to help.

Consumer beware. Don't let the positive reviews fool you! The owner is abusive and impossible to work with if you disagree with him. He uses abuse tactics to keep you locked in with him. He has been repulsive and unprofessional to our family. He put in a system that is too large for our home and ductwork (this has been confirmed by him and multiple other companies) which has caused us distress. He refuses to take the horrible system out and refund us, despite him saying he would. Of course, he will say he never said any of the things he actually said, that's his abusive nature. He wants us to pay him more money to remove the system. He wants us to give him more money for other items that were never necessary until he made mistakes. He also put in an outdoor unit that is HUGE in size. I was told by other companies he shouldn't have used that one, there's a smaller stature unit that has replaced this unit, the manufacture doesn't make this outdoor unit anymore. His mistakes and abuse have cost us our enjoyment in our home. I currently cannot, in good conscious, recommend this company to anyone.

GAC replaced my HVAC last month and I am really really happy with the work, the techs came on time and replaced the unit in a very professional manner. Since I had a very bad experience with Gaithersburg Air Conditioning techs recently, I was very skeptical and cautious, But Danny and his team did a wonderful job of replacing the unit and the price is very reasonable and competitive. GAC technicians are very knowledgeable and after the installation, they took time to explain everything. I have no doubt in recommending GAC for your AC service or replacement.

This is the most honest HVAC company I have ever worked with! While another company claimed I needed to replace a furnace, they were able to resolve the problem fie $300+ within two days!!! Came out quickly, diagnosed the problem and had it repaired before I even knew it! Additionally, they do not try to sell you what you don’t need. Consistently have said I don’t need to replace AC u less I want better efficiency. Amazing! I would not use any other company. Ever.

Germantown Heating & Air Conditioning just did our system. We got est from 6 contractors. Danny really knows his work, and pointed out things everyone else missed. He was also there to work the install. A+ in my book. Even helped with all the rebate paperwork. The install team was very pleasant and considerate, clean while moving through, our home. They explained the new system, thermostat, and the system operation. Then set it to our preferences.

As for the actual system, our home of 25 years, has never been so comfortable. Ours is an all electric home, and until now we haven't had "real" Heat or A/C. Now we do. Thanks for recommending a Lennox.

They installed our AC unit 13 years ago. They gave the best price and service then and now. I had them out last year for an estimate on a small unit on an addition and they said I didn't need one on such a small space. Whereas other companies recommended $8000 units. I'm surprised to see only seven reviews. They obviously don't solicit reviews.
They also helped my parents out in an emergency when their heat wasn't working. They have pride in their business.

Great service, spoke with danny who gave me the run down of cost and why the certain unit for my townhome. Honest, fair and timely responses from company. Mike and his partner came and installed my new system after replacing a very old system. They did a fantastic clean job and respected my property by being clean after there work. Answered all my questions at the end. Will for sure recommend to anyone in need of work/replacing and will use for maintance when the times come!

I don’t know why you would go anywhere else for HVAC issues. They are honest, fast, and their prices were the best around (I had called a few other places). They got the job done for me in under 30 minutes and charged for exactly that. No messing around!! Bill and Dana were very friendly, wore masks, and did a great job. I am switching to them for all my HVAC needs!

Called in the morning because my air conditioner had stopped working during our hundred degree heat wave. I was given an appointment immediately. Also, I was given a window of when technician would arrive and received a phone call when the technician was on the way to my house. My air conditioner was fixed quickly and for a reasonable price. Everyone I had contact with was courteous and professional. Definitely would recommend!

Their technician Dana provided prompt, friendly, excellent service. Price was also very reasonable. Dana gave me a lot of friendly advice about how the PEPCO Summer Peak Savings program works. After servicing my outdoor compressor, he washed down the compressor carefully with my garden house. When I happened to mention that the hose had got stuck to the bib over the winter, he offered to take it off for me, thereby saving me a lot of work (I was ready to get a hacksaw from my local hardware store to saw it off). Thanks a lot to Dana and to Germantown Heating And Air Conditioning!

Dan and his crew were terrific! They came out as quickly as they could and fixed my heating problem completely. I was offered two options and was not criticized for taking the less expensive option. Very professional, very sociable. Made time for small talk, not just all business. Worked quietly, no impact to my home, no damages, no disturbances. Would use them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a high-quality job done in their home.

Our AC was blowing warm air. Oscar our technician has come many times to do an assessment on our unit. He has great customer service, answers all my questions and explains it so I can understand. Thank-you for your honesty Oscar!! I highly recommend Germantown heating & air conditioning!!!

Not only did Scott find the time to come right out to help us in this miserable heat wave, but didn't add an extra charge just for the visit, and found and fixed the problem for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend!

These guys were great! Our AC stopped working in 90 degree heat and they were able to come out the next day, diagnose the problem as a faulty capacitor, and replace it in minutes. I was very happy with every aspect of our experience: calling and being able to get in touch with a live human right away, booking an appointment for the next day, being given a 2-hour window in which they'd arrive (other places do 4-hour windows), and having the technician (Oscar) be friendly, knowledgeable, capable, and honest. I will be a repeat customer.

Requested a checkup for excessive humidity. They had quick availability. They thoroughly checked the entire system and didn't find anything specifically wrong, and didn't try to manufacture any problem. They did a great job cleaning everything up, and the price was reasonable.

I love this company. They serviced my old system and when it came time to replace it they recommended the system that would work best for my townhouse even though I was willing to pay for a more expensive unit (which I would not have been happy with). I have now moved to a new home and they've kindly continued to service the exterior unit at my current home. I have some trust issues and I always feel like the people I'm dealing with are knowledgeable and honest which is a great feeling. I can't recommend this company enough!

I had scheduled an HVAC maintenance appointment for July 22, 2024. I called in the morning and was assured that the technician would arrive on time. However, after waiting for hours, no one showed up. When I called back, I was informed that the appointment had been canceled, and they claimed to have left me a voicemail. I checked my voicemail, and there was none. Clearly, the female representative on the phone was lying. It is very unprofessional to cancel an appointment without informing the customer and then lie about it. They have no concern about the customer's time and don't care at all. Save your time and look elsewhere; there are plenty of other companies in the county that will do a good job.

Used them for a few years now. However, they’re are significantly more expensive now than the other places around. I pointed that out to the owner and he could care less.
Recently had an issue with my air conditioner. They sent a tech out who looked at it and assumed there was a leak on the unit in the attic. Said it the visit that day was $110 and he’d come back Monday to check for the leak in the attic unit because it was too hot to go up there that afternoon. He came back Monday morning and charged me another $70 for a continuation of service to find the leak.
After finding the leak they had to come repair the leak. Every hvac company around credits you your “diagnostic” fee back when you go with them. This place does not. After years of using them I’ll be moving on to another hvac company. They also charge $185 a lb of 410 Freon. Called 3 other hvac companies in the area and got prices of $75,85 and $90 a lb. So they’re more than double every other hvac place in the area as well.

We ended up again the refrigerant leak, and then decided to install new HVAC. When i spoke to the installation company, they immediately found leaking part and asked us why they (Germantown Heating & AC) didn't fix it. They told me it is unreliable and expensive just to add refrigerant without checking. It was our ignorance, and price was for our lessons learned. I don't recommend this company.

The guy came on that day when we had a AC trouble, and found out it was a leakage of coolant water. It was fixed immediately and costed around $400. We liked their quick service, and will ask them again in the future.

Our HVAC went out and we called 3 different companies in the area for a quote. The owner came by to give us the initial quote and was extremely personable and transparent. They had the best price and warranty of all of the quotes we received. Install went smooth! The techs were very friendly and came at 8:30AM. They were done with the install of the new system and gone before 1:00PM. I can’t say enough good things about this company! I will definitely use them again.
