Reviews of local pros in Reading, Massachusetts

My wife and I contracted Mike to convert our home's old three-season porch into a new guest room, and to add an adjacent outdoor patio. The quality of the work was excellent; Mike is both a skilled worker and extremely knowledgeable as a general contractor. With that said, what really set Mike apart was how he communicated with us and how he managed the project.

From the first day we met him, he spoke to us as partners, not just as clients. He was friendly, transparent, and thorough in answering our questions, and proactively shared information with us as the project progressed. He was always responsive via text, and we always felt "in the loop". When a local vendor accidentally sent a bundle of lumber through our garage door, Mike held the vendor accountable and made sure that the garage door was replaced.

We'll likely be doing more work on our home in the next few years, and Mike will be the first person we call.

We were extremely happy with our kitchen renovation project by Mike at One Source. Mike was easy to work with and had great communication and responsiveness. His attention to detail and professional workmanship was very much appreciated. Multiple subs were well managed and scheduled. We would absolutely recommend One Source for any future projects!

Rob came over to my apartment and helped replace an outlet and fix some old wiring. He came on time and got the work done efficiently for nearly half the price I was quoted by another company. He was professional and personable. 10/10 would recommend.

Excellent service. Thanks

Professional knowledgeable, punctual great to work with

frustrating experience trying to work with. waiting for a call back since yesterday he just didn’t show up for scheduled job. unreliable and poor communication

Rob is an excellent handyman and electrician. He did an amazing job with my bathroom remodel and I would not hesitate to hire him again for future projects. I absolutely recommend using Rob for any of your electrical projects.

Excellent job, very professional and informative on each step and decision. I had power issues at home and he was able to tackle everything in a very serious and professional way, explaining the reasons quite clearly. Would definitely hire again and recommend it too anyone in need of electrical service.

I called Justen with an electrical problem with my pool filter. He responded to my call and came to my house that day to check it out and fix it. He is very knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend him for your electrical needs.

Very responsive and prompt. Extremely detailed oriented. Had a very large project that had dozens of line items. From start to finish everything was tracked meticulously. Reasonable pricing that makes sense. Great people.

I needed to get some old BX cable removed and Justen was great. He clearly explained what needed to be done, communicated throughout the process, and got the work done quickly and safely. Will definitely work with him in the future - highly recommend!

Was seeking an electrician to replace a light fixture at my mom's house in Wilmington, MA and saw that this company was highly recommended on the Wilmington Facebook page. So glad I followed that lead, as Justen did not let us down. From our first contact, he was responsive, polite, and knowledgeable. Importantly, he followed up on what he said he would and got the job done within the timeframe we requested, even going out of his way to locate the proper fixture. All of this means so much when you have an elderly parent living in a home alone, that security of knowing you are in good hands. We highly recommend Bates Electric and are thrilled to have them for our electrical needs. ~ Sharon D.

Highly recommend Bates for all of your electrical needs! We reached out for a few small fixes with our electrical panel and adding a new outlet in our basement. Justen was very knowledgeable, timely in his communications, arrived on time, and completed the work as scoped. Very friendly and professional service.

Justin is very knowledgeable and professional. He fit me in on the same day I called. He was great about keeping to time of arrival and notifying me when he was on the way. He was very respectful of my property. He completed all the work needed perfectly and explained what had done. I highly recommend Bates Electric.

I called Justen for a few small residential electrical repairs . He responded quickly and came out the next day to give me a price . He completed everything I asked and he and his assistant were very courteous and neat . I would definitely recommend Justen and will call him again .

My husband and I recently remodeled an old home (established in 1931) in Reading MA. We hired Justen (Bates Electrical LLC) to do a full rewire, upgrade panel from 100 to 200 amps, install recessed lighting in multiple rooms, and update lights in our kitchen/bathrooms. I highly recommend using Justen Bates for your electrical needs. He was friendly and accommodating, and always eager to meet with us to answer all questions. We had additional requests throughout the process, and he was happy to add to his workload. We are thrilled with the results!

We had a great experience working with Justen and his team on a full kitchen renovation, which required all new lighting and wiring for appliances as well as installing a sub panel. Justen worked with us every step of the way from day 1 and was knowledgeable and easy to communicate with. We are thrilled with how everything came out and look forward to working with him on our next project.
