Constraction reviews in Woburn, Massachusetts

We originally met with Steve for an estimate to replace our roof, but before he came over for the first meeting a tree fell on our sunroom, and so we needed additional repairs associated with that damage. Steve came over and was very patient with my questions, gave me multiple estimates for a few different scopes of work, and was very willing to help me deal with the insurance process (though that turned out not to be necessary). Though his estimate wasn't the cheapest, his excellent customer service was above and beyond compared to the other roofing companies. Steve was always responsive to our questions and did a great job keeping us updated on schedule and progress as the project moved forward. The roof and sunroom now both look great! Overall I had a very positive experience with all of Stella Construction's employees and would definitely work with them again.

I hired Stella to replace my front porch, which was sagging after years of neglect by the previous owner. The project included demolishing the old structure before building the new porch and roof, along with pouring new footings and repairing some of the stucco. The crew that worked on this showed up every day were professional and courteous, and worked hard from the time they arrived until they finished for the day. While there was a few days in between the completion of the porch and the stucco to finish the project, unlike other contractors that i have hired, Stella showed up every day and didn't leave the project half finished to go work on something else. I had a few different companies bid on the project and i am very happy that i went with Stella.

We recently had a full bathroom remodel by Stella Construction this past June and we absolutely love the finished product and overall had an excellent experience working with Erik and his team. The project was completed in a timely manner and no short cuts were taken, as with any project unexpected issues arose and Erik and his team including Tim, Jeff, Joe, and Vien were able to work quickly with us in resolving the issues. We highly recommend Stella to our friends and family

Steve Balsavich at Stella came to my house for an estimate for a whole roof replacement. Steve was friendly, extremely knowledgeable and up front about the whole process. I had a total of 4 roofing companies give me quotes, all A+ rated with the BBB, and only Steve was an actual roofer who could answer my more detailed questions. Stella also provided the most competitive quote and I appreciated that I didn't have to sit through a long sales pitch with pressure to buy at the end. I had some damage to the soffit from squirrels nesting there and Steve added to replace the missing panels for no additional charge. The crew showed up on time, worked fast, and cleaned up everything at the end of each day and the roof looks beautiful. Steve was reachable any time to answer questions. I couldn't have been any happier with the entire process and feel like I got great quality for a great price. I will definitely reach out to Stella for future projects and cannot recommend them highly enough.

We hired Stella Construction a couple of years ago to do repairs and renovations on our older New England home and have been working with them since on projects big and small. The quality of the work speaks for itself- we were hoping to develop a relationship with home contractors who could do home repairs and renovations as we navigated first-time homeowning. Erik Kortz and his partners and employees at Stella Construction & Home Services have been exactly the assets we needed to bring our home to life. Great advice, fair pricing with clear billing itemization/willing to work with you to save money, quick, polite, professional service, solid construction/results. No construction project is without some stress and unwanted surprises, but having a team like Stella makes the journey a smooth one. During a hiccup, Erik was on it and fixing it before we even knew there was an issue. THIS is the kind of team you want to work with! Erik treats every construction job and inspection of services as if it's his own home- the attention to detail and expectation of quality from Stella staff/subcontractors has been impressive and reassuring to us. Also, let the compliments rain as their work kills it! 10/10!

Erik, Kevin, and the team made our home renovation project as easy and smooth as it possibly could have been. They are incredibly responsive and focused on making sure we got the end result we wanted, even as our old house threw in a few curve balls. Highly recommend them to anyone!

Eric and Joe and the team at Stella did a great job rebuilding our deck this summer. They were very responsive and helpful during the scoping effort of the project, as we decided on materials, design, and size. They were timely and efficient in their work and answered questions all along the way. Also, they cleaned up the project area each day throughout the project which was important to us as were tearing down the old deck and wanted to make sure our dogs and kids didn't get injured with worn nails or wood shavings. We would be happy to use Stella for another project in the future.

Great experience working with Stella Doro! The hardscape and patio work they completed transformed our backyard. Beautiful, functional, and delivered on time.

Stella Construction did an excellent job on replacing my large residential membrane roof. Steve and his crew made a thorough and excellent proposal for a major job. They were backed up with work and the new Seka membrane took a long time to arrive, but once they started they kept me well informed of their progress and did a super Jobe. I would highly recommend them. COS

I was an absolute pleasure working with Stella Construction and my roofing project was a great experience from day 1. Steve was very thorough with his project evaluation, reviewing all the details (such as materials, timing, what to expect, etc.) and answering all my questions. A great thing about working with Steve is he does what he says he will do. He showed up on time for the initial appointment, the estimate came when he said it would, the permit was obtained quickly, and the materials were delivered ahead of the scheduled start of the job.

The job started and ended on time and was completed on budget. Based on this experience I will use Stella Construction for future home projects!!

We had a great experience with Stella through three projects this summer/fall. They re-did our bathroom, rebuilt and expanded our deck, and then re-sided the entire house. Erik led each project and he helped us figure out the decision points, as neither my wife nor I had a lot of experience with home renovation. We plan to use them again for our next project, too. Great company and Erik is awesome.

Stella, Erik and his teams were great to work with. The replaced 2 decks, replaced all the windows and doors in the house, replaced some shingles and trim, and painted the house. They were professional, easy to communicate with and did a wonderful job. They made sure I was happy with each phase of the project and addressed any concerns immediately. I look forward to working with them in the future and highly recommend them.

We hired Stella to do a huge renovation of our 1890’s fixer-upper house based on recommendations from 2 colleagues who had similarly large projects. Erik Kortz, the owner, and our project manager, Joe Forte, answer every single text and call and are experts at navigating the complicated landscape of home renovations. It’s clear they care about the families they work with and they have long-standing relationships with their subcontractors, which means a lot given the high demand of home renovation work in the Camberville area. We had a ton of surprises (sewage pipes, asbestos, sinking house) as we began work and Joe kept us informed and always had our best interests and budget in mind with each decision. Joe is now a member of our family (just ask our son and dog). We now have a beautifully renovated 2-family home, and know that each detail from the plumbing to finishes were accomplished with the utmost attention to detail. We highly recommend working with Joe and Erik at Stella for your interior and exterior projects!

Stella, and project manager Joe Forte in particular, have once again done a fantastic job on a project for me. The project included replacing my kitchen cabinets, reworking the kitchen plumbing, installing new counters and a new kitchen sink, and retiling two bathroom floors. Everything was done to the highest quality standards, with care and precision at every step, on time and within budget. All of the people who implemented the project - carpenters, plumbers, stone counter installers, and tiling experts – were friendly and professional, and really cared about getting every detail right. Most of all, Joe was amazing. He was in close touch through the whole project, both in person and via text, answering my every question promptly and communicating with the hands-on folks as needed. Joe always had my back. He fully explained my options when I had to make a choice, sent me the information I needed to make decisions, made implementation easy and smooth, and made sure things got done as agreed. He is an absolute pleasure to work with. If I need to do another project in the future, I will definitely turn to Stella and Joe Forte again.

Stella did an excellent job painting our house. Erik and everyone on the crew was very professional and courteous. The shingles needed to be secured and Erik talked with us about a range of options for cost and appearance. The work was thorough from prep to finish and our house looks great. Highly recommended!

I had a great experience with Stella Construction. Having worked with other contractors in the past, I was looking for a team that could communicate effectively and be prompt in their follow-through. Erik and Kevin delivered, managing everything seamlessly from start to finish. Their subcontractors were professional and respectful, which made the entire process smooth.

Stella did a remodel for us recently, bathrooms and moving some walls around, and we'd absolutely use them again. We've done construction before, and this experience was a million times better than our previous! Even with some major hiccups during the process (our roof started leaking on the plumber, for ex!), they took it in stride and fixed everything. I don't think they're the cheapest option, but they weren't even close to the top estimates we got either, and our place looks great now.

I could not be happier with the work Stella Construction did for us. From the first contact to the end of the project they have been great to work with. Erik helped us plan our work letting us know what would and would not work with our budget while still getting the results we were looking for. Kevin was a pleasure to work with on the weekly basis to manage progress and changes that came during the 4 month project. I could not recommend Stella more. The hardest part of home renovation project is finding a contractor you can trust and count on and Stella meets that need. If we ever need work down again Stella will be the first people we call.

As first time renovators, I’m relieved to say that we had a great experience working with Stella on a first floor gut reno of our home. We chose them as they came highly recommended in the community and Erik provided the most thoughtful and detailed quotes vs. other companies. Communication throughout the process was timely and seamless. Our PM Kevin always presented us with clear options for paths forward when the inevitable issues arose which made decision-making much easier. Overall, we felt well-supported and confident throughout the entire project (which finished on time!!) and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Stella to others.

We used Stella Construction recently for a gut renovation of a three bedroom apartment in Somerville. It was a huge project and the first time we'd ever done a renovation that involved. Erik, Joe and their team were great- very patient with us as we struggled to make decisions. Overall, the work was done well and everything went as smoothly as it could. there were a few surprises as we opened up the walls, which is to be expected, and the team worked through it. Stella has great relationships with the Somerville inspectors, which was an added bonus that helped keep things on track. I would definitely call them again in the future.

We hired Stella to carry out a full interior gut renovation of our home - the house was originally built around 1895 and had been modified over the years. We had several surprises that required new structural plans and even a rebuild from foundation to the roof of the corner of the house. We are extremely pleased with the end result. The project spanned almost a year and the delays that occurred were mostly due to pauses for figuring out major structural fixes. Stella kept the project moving and their trusted subcontractors were courteous and a pleasure to work with.
