So glad we went with this company when we had a clogged sewer. We called at a 11 and he showed up by 11:15 and was done by 11:30. Very reasonable price compared to other
quotes I had gotten. Super nice guy and expalined everything he was doing. Would definitely contact him again if we had issues in the future.

I had a blocked drainage line to the street on Wednesday; Thursday morning Roger was at my house and unclogged my drain within 20min or so. He was fast, reliable, very affordable and just a great guy. I would recommend him to everybody.

Roger was the fifth plumber I called when my sewage was backed up. No one could get out to me for a couple days. He was also very busy, but said he would do what he could to help me out. A few hours later he called me back and said he was on his way since he couldn't get into a few other customers driveways since this was also during an awesome snow storm that my factory job had actually closed the shop for the day. I had in the meantime found another plumber that was able to make it the same day so I had the other company do the work. Roger, however, asked who they were and assured me they would take of me. Very professional!! I would highly recommend him and I'm putting his name under my list of plumber's to use.

AMAZING. i called about 10 pluming places on a monday morning (first ones that came up on google.) from 7-9AM. most didnt answer(even though it stated 24/7 availability), or were booked out for weeks. I called Roger, and he literally called me back in 1 minute. then to make things even better, he told me he could be to my house within 20 minutes! sure enough, he was. came in, and him and his partner fixed the problem right away! honest guys. great service. cant ask for anything better! highly recommend.

Probably one of the nicest people I’ve had help from in the 6 + years I’ve been widowed and started caring for a house on my own. I hired a 5 Star google reviewed company to diagnose the problem and give me an estimate for repair or replacement of my water heater for the cost of $59. The company came out and was very professional and gave me my estimate with multiple options. To repair which I was cautioned against as not the best option was going to be just under $400.00 and to replace was going to be 2,400. I the them I had to think about it as that was well beyond what I could have imagined. I am so thankful a member of my church community recommended Roger. Roger gave me a free estimate me a free estimate and let’s just say my repair was not even 1/4 of what I was quoted and took him very little time to accomplish. He was extremely nice and restored my faith that contractors are not all greedy and out to take advantage of you. I highly recommend Roger to anyone.

Roger is the best!! I just experienced my first plumbing crisis and was on the verge of a breakdown until I talked to Roger.

It was late in the evening on a Friday night and he took the time to talk to me to find out the problem and to offer suggestions to help me get thru the weekend to avoid the Emergency Weekend fee. He called me the very next morning on a Saturday and offered to stop in to try a fix that could allow me to stay in the house over the weekend and IT WORKED!!!!!

True to his word, he was here Monday morning and had me all fixed in no time. He talked me thru the things I needed to do to help avoid the issue in the future.

Roger really helped to diffuse my panic and gave me assurance that it wasn't as bad as I feared and he''d take care of everything...AND HE DID!! I don't have any other experiences to compare this to, but I can say that for my 1st time dealing with an issue like this I was so blessed to have found Roger!

So Roger is my guardian angel!! I had a serious back-up in one of my bathrooms. I called Roto-Rooter who sent a young guy out that was here for 6 long hours and could not fix the clog. He did however, state he would be back the next morning and could get it fixed for $1300.00. They never showed up so i called and talked to the Rudest man Ever! who stated they wouldn't be able to come back until the next day.
I called around because known of this seemed right and was referred to Vanderlaan Sewer Service. I called and Roger called me back ASAP! Our wash machine water that normally flowed out through the tub/sink backed up. I called in the morning and Roger was out by noon to unclog it. Even got some cooking tips from him! Very pleased with time, service and price. Thanks!

Grand Rapids plumbers have a secret weapon, and his name is Roger. I was referred to Roger by a very reputable plumber who said our best bet was to call Roger Vanderlaan.

Roger was the third plumber to our house and was the only one to identify what our trouble was -- after 3 sewer backups through our floor drain, and three service calls with 3 different plumbers.

Not only did Roger identify the issue, but he also took the time to teach me what he was doing as he worked -- in order to save me from the expense of a service call if heaven forbid this happened again.

He is not the cheapest but he is the most knowledgeable plumber I've dealt with and far less expensive than some other companies in the area.

If you're looking for a plumber who cares about his customers and strives to do right by them, then Roger is your guy.

I called Roger Monday morning after hearing his name through at least five people as the person to call for all plumbing issues. He arrived Monday afternoon, had my drain sorted out within the hour, and went on his merry way. He was friendly, affordable and offered some great advice for long term upkeep.

Roger was fantastic to work with. He was very thorough and asked plenty of questions to get a better idea of how he could solve the issue in the best way possible. He is also an EXTREMELY nice guy. Roger came out to fix my sewer line that had been draining slowly. I hadn't used it in a few days, and when he came out it was no longer backing up. He was very fair on the cost he charged me and was a pleasure to deal with. I will definitely be calling him back for any future sewer issues, and would highly recommend his services.

My bestie in Lansing had a sewer issue. I called Roger to see if he had a recommendation for someone I could trust in Lansing to fix the issue. He did not. Instead, he stated he could do the job and away he went with Eric, 30 minutes after my original call. They fixed the issue, chatted with the children and called back to make sure everything was doing good. Roger cares for people, not just the bottom line and I am grateful for how he loves his neighbor as himself. I will always contact Roger for any issues with sewer lines.

Our drain started backing up into our basement. My husband did all he could to snake the lines, but unfortunately, the plug was bigger than the equipment we had could handle. I called Roger Vanderlaan at 8:05 am on Friday morning. His secretary took my information and told me that Roger should call me back within 30 minutes. I received his call at 8:08 am. He told me that he was running into a job but he would just bump me to the next in line since I was home and the owners of the other jobs he had were not. He showed up to my house around 9:10 am and just left at 9:40 am. Talk about quality service at the speed of light! Eric, his coworker, and Roger got everything up and running quickly and they didn't leave a mess behind! All I have to clean up is the mess that was created by the backed-up drain! I can't compare the cost with other companies because I've not dealt with a backed-up system in years, but I felt the total cost was fair. I am so grateful for Roger and Eric. If you need any sewer and drain work done, call Vander Laan, a Christian Veteran owned company, to get the job done. You will not be disappointed.
