Our A/C was down for two weeks in July and we couldn't get our local HVAC service provider to even call us back.
All it took was one phone call to Baumann & DeGroot! The entire team (Install coordinator, sales rep, field installation) was professional, responsive and seemed genuinely concerned about our situation.
They were able to fit us into their schedule and install a new A/C within 2 days after initial contact.
I highly recommend this firm and plan to use them for future needs!

We had several issues with our old furnace and decided that a new Carrier 96% efficiency was the way to go. We had technicians numerous times to our home and all wonderful. Very happy with all that needed to be done. Good people.

Baumann & Degroot did an amazing job replacing our 21-year-old air conditioner and furnace. The team was extremely professional, polite, and efficient—they finished the entire job in just one day! I really appreciated how quickly they responded to any questions I had throughout the process. Great communication and quality work. Highly recommend!

We have had Baumann and Degroot out multiple times for us. At the beginning of the COVID pandemic to fix a broken water heater and more recently to replace our furnace and AC that were almost 20 years old. Each time I was given options for different prices that would fit our budget and felt well informed about what was available and the costs with each. They were easy to work with and great with follow up questions. Would recommend them to my family and friends in the area.

Such a great experience with Baumann and Degroot!! They showed up for us on a short notice after another local company backed out.
They gave us several options to choose from and never pressured us or tried to upsell us.
All of our questions were answered and in a timely manner. We were able to do all of our scheduling, questions, and choices through email which was a HUGE plus for us.
We absolutely love our new system and would hands down recommend them to anyone!!!

This company did not finish the project I hired them for. They wanted payment prior to completing the work which is unacceptable. They did not appear to be financially solvent as they expected me to pay for furnace parts prior to them performing the repair. Very difficult to work with and unprofessional

Xander was an outstanding tech! He was prompt, honest, professional and works very hard to answer our questions and maintain our HVAC and water heaters. We highly recommend this company for outstanding customer service.

AC was install in 2019. This system had to be installed in the attic due to our house having radiant heat and no duct work. I won’t talk much on the initial install but it was memorable(not good). Master bedroom vent has noise that they tried to correct but to this day it is still there. Almost sounds like a piece of plastic fluttering. A couple days later our condenser unit turned off and only the blower ran(2019). Chad asked me to peak up into the attic and see if there was water in the drip pan and if the water sensor was tripped, yes to both. They pointed at installation of the drain pipe. Added a “p” style trap as this is required per manufacturer. We continued to have condensation issues a few more times after that. After the last service call we went about 2 years thinking this thing was finally fixed. Well this year 2023 we had a problem, again. Went into the attic and found nearly 2.5-3 gallons in the pan as the last tech moved the sensor up hill of the lowest point. I called for service and we had a tech out shortly and they stated the insulation around the outlet plenum was not secured well causing the water in the pan. Couple days later we got a bill for $160. I contacted the service manager Josh and explained my case to why I’m not paying this as the sensor was moved and caused the gap in service calls. He suggested to have another tech come out and inspect for water in the pan again to insure it’s fixed. Well it wasn’t. Water in the pan again. Next tech raised the emergency drain thinking condensation was traveling down the pipe and back into the pan. Put the pipe above the pan so if the pan filled up the emergency drain wouldn’t even work anyways. Few days later failed again, water in the pan. Next tech inspects and make a few suggestions to what the problem could be but doesn’t do anything. That day I went up my self and removed the service doors and inspected for myself, found tons of water in the unit(not in the internal drip tray but on the blower side of the air handler), insulation soaking wet, condensation dripping from service doors, seal around condensation drain not installed properly. I installed the seal in its proper location and proceeded to use hvac ducting tape to seal the gaps in the service doors. Inspected the manual for the air handler and found manufacturer stating the drain line should have a 1/4” drop per foot of distance from handler to the outside where ours virtually has nothing and condensation drain should be insulated to prevent sweating when installed in this application. Instructions also state “when unit is installed in an unconditioned area with high ambient temp/or high humidity air handler may be subject to nuisance sweating and 2” fiberglass insulation with vapor barrier should wrapped around the unit”. Ours is just laying over top with the bottom fully exposed. The tech and Josh both say this is not correct, code M1401.1? Josh sent out the same tech again to check evaporator placement to make sure the evaporator wasn’t touching the sides of the cabinet and to perform a static pressure check. Both the tech and Josh stated everything was good and they are now saying our attic does not have good enough ventilation even though we have vented soffit and a ridge cap vent that goes down the total length of our roof. Both Josh and the technician are pointing fingers at my house because they don’t want to fix it properly. I went back up a week later to inspect the pan and get the manual from on top of the air handler to find out the tech never removed the service doors to inspect the evaporator as the original tape I put on was untouched so obviously I was lied to. They also drilled a hole in the intake plenum for the static pressure check and never sealed it back up so it is just sucking in hot humid air. I will now be fixing this myself following the black and white letters of the manual.

Furnace went out on 12/23 I made the call and received a call back and they were at my home on Christmas eve. They were professional and polite. Answered every question we had. I will definitely use them again when and if needed

Extremely happy with the service we received from Travis at Baumann and Degroot! He responded in a timely manner, was very professional, and was able to address our problem quickly. I would recommend Travis and the team at B&D to anyone!!

Edwin did a great job servicing a tune-up on our furnace. Detailed work and got it cleaned up for the winter. Would recommend. Got automated texts when he was on his way and arrived.

I’ve thought long and hard about posting this, and with this cold spell bringing back memories, I feel it’s time to share my experience.

In the fall of 2024, I hired Baumann & DeGroot for a furnace tune-up. When I scheduled the appointment, I clearly explained that toward the end of the previous winter my rollout switch had been tripping, and I strongly suspected a failing heat exchanger. I had seen flame disturbance when the blower kicked on and knew something wasn’t right. I also knew my heat exchanger had a lifetime warranty, which is why I wanted it checked before winter.

I was told the regular tune-up schedule was full, but I could be seen sooner on an emergency schedule for a higher cost. I agreed because I wanted peace of mind before winter. They came out the same day and told me the issue was just the gas valve needing cleaning and adjustment. They completed the “fall tune-up” at the higher rate, which I had no issue paying. I trusted their judgment as professionals.

During that initial visit, the technician recorded video of the flame. Looking back, I believe flame disturbance was visible in that video. After the later failure, the owner even commented that this should not have been missed. I understand mistakes happen — I work in the automotive field and have made them myself. When I do, I own them and make it right.

About two months later, during a cold spell, my furnace had a major failure. The heat exchanger failed, causing flame rollout that led to melted wiring, blower damage, and multiple sensor failures. The rollout sensor didn’t catch it in time, and there was significant damage.

I called again for emergency service. They came out and confirmed the heat exchanger failure. This happened late on a Friday. I called one of the owners and calmly explained my frustration — especially since I had raised this concern months earlier and there was documentation of flame disturbance. To his credit, he worked hard that night to find a replacement and sent multiple techs out to get me back up and running. I was very grateful and even gave the techs gift sets as a thank-you.

At that point, I felt I had given them every opportunity to make things right — and initially, I thought they had.

I was told I would be contacted on Monday to follow up. That never happened. I’ll admit I should have followed up myself and checked my email more closely — that part is on me. However, not receiving a call made me believe the owner was handling things and was going to make it right.

About a month later, I received a call saying I had an unpaid invoice of around $1,000. This was the first time I was made aware of the balance. There was no prior conversation about what I would be charged, no explanation, and no discussion of accountability given the circumstances.

Had the heat exchanger been addressed originally, this likely would have been a few hundred dollars in labor under warranty instead of a much larger repair.

I sat on the bill for a few days, trying to approach it with a clear head. In the end, I paid it without arguing. In April 2025, I reached out to share my concerns about how the situation was handled and never received a response.

    To be fair:
    • The emergency response was solid.
    • The technicians were professional and hardworking.
    • They did get my heat restored quickly.

But I’m disappointed that my original concern wasn’t taken seriously, that documented warning signs were missed, that communication dropped off, and that I was left with a large bill without any real discussion.

Mistakes happen. I understand that. What matters is how they’re handled afterward. In my line of work, when I make a mistake, I own it and absorb it. I was hoping for the same level of accountability here.

I take responsibility for not following up more aggressively, but I also expected better communication and transparency given the situation.

I’m sharing this so others can make informed decisions and to encourage better follow-through and customer communication in the future.

    It's warm in here again!
The technician that arrived was courteous to me and the property, even removing shoes at the door! Most importantly, he knew the business and was precise and efficient.
Parts are not that expensive but the technician's knowledge labor and time make the job pricey so expect that.
    A job well done!

This morning, I woke up to ice cold water bubbling out of the top of my hot water tank! I searched on the Internet for local service providers. Baumann & Degroot answered my 7:30 AM emergency call on the second ring. It was great to speak to a real person instead of going through AI prompts, which were used by other companies. Incredibly, they were able to schedule me for the same day to replace my water heater. Connor and Porter for professional, diligent, and took their boots off every time they entered my house. This was much appreciated because I have a very light colored carpeting. The process was very smooth, and they communicated with me throughout the installation process. The finished product looks great and they cleaned up after themselves very well. It’s like it never even happened except now I have a brand new Bradford White 50 gallon natural gas water heater and of course hot water!

The team from Baumann and DeGroot have taken great care of us again. After installing a major HVAC upgrade in 2018 with an awesome system our AC unit began to have issues this summer. The team worked with the manufacturer and when they wouldn’t honor the warranty, Baumann and DeGroot stepped up and installed a new unit. Awesome service and the reason we chose them in the first place. Chef and the installation team did an awesome job, even showing concern for protecting the plants in our landscaping.

Baumann and DeGroot was friendly, reliable, efficient, and beat our expectations. I’d like to publicly thank Edwin. He diagnosed our problem quick, found the part in his van, installed it, and gave us heat, all within 30 minutes or less. The best part: he didn’t try to sell us a new furnace or give us the run around like some of the other companies. Our HVAC business is now Baumann and DeGroot’s. Nice work! Thanks Edwin and the friendly staff who pick the phone up and schedule appointments. This is how business is done!

The team that diagnosed and replaced my furnace were professional, polite and worked quickly. They installed the furnace faster than anticipated (next day) being cognizant of the cold temperatures and getting my house back up and running. I would, will and have recommended them to anyone in need of service in the future.

My current system was over 30 years old and finally started to fail. A couple of techs got me back in business right away, but only lasted a day before another system failure. Chad quickly provided a number of options with quotes. After having a conversation, and choosing a replacement; Chad shuffled some guys around and had a new furnace by mid afternoon the next day. Had great service by: Edwin, Dave, Connor, Dan, Corbin and Elijah.
    Thanks Team!

We just recently had both our furnace and AC units replaced and were very happy with the service. The technicians who did the work were very professional and did a very clean job. Can hardly tell that a replacement was done. Would highly recommend Baumann and DeGroot to others.

When my furnace called time-out (twice) at the end of the coldest January we've seen in a while, I needed honest reliable (and speedy) service to get things running again. The fact I was able to get a hold of actual people at some very early morning hours did wonders to calm my worries and I would recommend Baumann & DeGroot to anyone, whether they too are in a pinch or looking forward to changing seasons. Definitely a return customer when I have to replace either side of my home's HVAC.
