I strongly recommend not going here for house plants. I recently bought a plant from the Alpine location that was infested with spider mites. Now all my plants have them. This is the second time this has happened, the first time was from this location and they came in on a tiny dancer. Check your house plants if you recently got anything from either location.

I am a plant person and so since I have rediscovered FlowerLand in Kentwood, I come back every so often to look and possibly purchase. I was in on Thursday, February 26, 2026. The last time I was in Flowerland closed at 7:00pm. I walked in probably about 5:40pm. I went to the greenhouse. I looking at the plants. After what seemed like a few minutes, one of the lady staff members in the greenhouse section rudely told me that they closed at 6:00pm. I apologized and said that I did not realized it because the last time I was in, they closed at 7:00pm. She did not respond at all.
Rather than being polite, I felt like she was kicking me out. It felt rude.

Hadn't been in there since 2013. Changed a lot and for the better! Found a few things of interest and had great service from Zach and Dave answering my questions. Definitely going to be stopping by more often.

Before you leave the store, please inspect your plants. There were numerous eggs and other plant-damaging insects on the big plant you are looking at. These particular insects have been observed on the plants I've bought from Flowerland before. Additionally, the Kentwood location has typically experienced ongoing problems with pest infestations. I've shown a number of their employees plants that needed to be sprayed. They appear to brush it off. It's kind of absurd how much damaged plants cost! Particularly when bugs, rather than the plant's stress from the trip, are to blame for the damage.

Lots to see. Need unique lawn decorations? Good place to go. Beautiful large selection of live plants for indoors and outdoors. Nice selection of baskets to use as planters. Gardening tools etc. Really nice stuff but didn't give 5 stars only because it's a little high on the prices.

Flowerland is one of the best places to buy indoor plants and houseplants in Grand Rapids. It’s a great spot whether you’re just starting your plant journey or already have a growing collection. They have a wide range of plants at different experience levels, plus all the essentials like soil, pots, tools, and helpful staff who actually know what they’re talking about. If you’re not sure where to begin, this is definitely the place to start. On top of that, they also carry cute home decor, outdoor garden items, and even some locally made Michigan candies that make perfect little gifts. It’s a place that feels inspiring every time you walk in.
