I would highly recommend Biota for hardscape precision and engineering, landscape design, and installation. We started with a blank canvas, a few pictures for inspiration, and designer, Elizabeth, took it from there! The front yard, side yards, and back yard are serene, peaceful, and beautifully finished. The team's communication is outstanding - the operations manager, Tim, planned the project and timelines, kept me apprised every step of the way, and successfully worked with the City of Edina to navigate some zoning challenges; Elizabeth promptly answered my many questions and listened to my ideas; and Henry checked in every morning and provided evening email updates on the day's installation progress. The team’s talent and work ethic are extraordinary. They did exactly what they said they would do within the timeline that was promised. Biota was the happy part of building my new home!

We worked with Biota to do a full redesign of our yard and patio. The craftsmanship, professionalism, and thoughtfulness of their entire team was so impressive. They were a dream to work with. We were exploring landscaping companies to complete a large project at our home when I discovered during a walk a few homeowners nearby using Biota services to create impressive landscaping. From the beginning working with Elizabeth (the designer) to completion of our extensive project with Will (foreman) and the install crew, our experience has been consistently excellent. Everyone we’ve met from Biota has been responsive, professional, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with. We’ve been happy with the results and look forward to enjoying the landscaping for years to come.

Biota Landscapes is amazing. Our project was a relatively small patio in our backyard. They were able to squeeze us in earlier than expected. Every step of the way, Biota was incredibly professional, collaborative, and extremely competent in execution. We are first time homebuyers who know nothing about gardening or landscaping but with Biota, nothing was unanswered or unknown. End of each work day, work area was absolutely immaculate and clean. Not to mention the beautifully finished work. I cannot recommend them enough! The care that went into a small project like ours was so impressive and it is a testament to the quality of work and dedication of their team.

It was a great experience working with the entire Biota team. Our designer Elizabeth had a great vision for our space and was able to utilize our yards elevation and different spaces to their full potential. Elizabeth was great at helping us find materials that fit our budget, style, and answered our questions along the way. Our build crew was fantastic as well. We got daily updates on project progress, and they were so knowledgeable and patient answering our questions. Everyone at Biota really takes pride in what they do which is so hard to find. We are so happy we entrusted Biota with our yard and look forward to completing the next couple phases of our property. We recommend them to anyone looking for high quality workmanship and a truly great group of people.

I highly recommend Biota. My designer, Elizabeth, collaborated very closely with me and created the perfect design for my modern/minimalist style. Construction operations manager Tim, site manager Henry, and the planting crew implemented everything perfectly, with extreme attention to detail and making sure that I was satisfied with the work every step of the way. They were almost more particular than I am, which is nearly impossible. Most importantly, my new front yard looks great! I couldn’t be happier with the result. I think my neighbors love the new look even more than I do— I’ve lost count of all the wonderful comments I’ve received. Biota has an amazing team and it’s obvious that high quality and customer satisfaction are their highest priorities.

We had a great experience with Biota on our recent backyard project. The implementation team were efficient, communicative, and flexible in how they worked and created the environment I had hoped for. Where I had concerns or questions, they immediately responded with clarity and collaboration. The daily recap emails and preview of the next days activity always ensured that I knew what was going on. Joe and Henry and their team are fantastic.

We had an amazing experience working with Biota! They are such a thoughtful and conscientious company. The work is high quality, the designs are beautiful yet pragmatic, and they are ecologically conscious. You can tell they really care about the work they put out and how it will function and wear in the real world.

Biota did some landscape work in our front yard and installed a patio and Soake pool in our backyard. It was quite the project but Elizabeth was so thorough and her designs turned out beautifully. She was incredibly involved in the whole process. She was able to inherently understand our tastes and know what we wanted. And she was frequently on site during the project and was able to troubleshoot potential issues in real time.

Tim and Elizabeth were so great in dealing with the city and securing all our necessary permits. And dealing with all the arrangements with Soake. He and Henry were great at keeping us on schedule and pivoting during the heavy rains this summer.

We are so thankful Henry was our site supervisor. He and the rest of the team were so professional and impressive. He sent an email every night summarizing the work they did that day and their plans for the next. They worked efficiently and cleaned up at the end of every day.

We couldn't be happier we chose to work with Biota. We're now using their maintenance team to keep up with our beautiful landscaping!

We had an exceptional experience with the team at Biota. They were thoughtful, courteous and timely. We put on a major addition in our backyard and we hired Biota to put together the plans for landscaping.

We are very happy with the design process and the implementation. One of the things they did was write us an email at the end of every work day - what they did and what their plans were for the next day. That level of communication was first class.

We had some issues with the revised irrigation system and they were quick to get involved and fix it pronto.

After living in our 1 1/2-story stucco house for nearly thirty years. in Minneapolis, It was time for a new "look." We chose biota Landscapes because we were looking for a local company. Day one they did not disappoint. From the beginning landscape drawings to the final design, our project exceeded what we could have imagined. When construction crews began on site, everyone on the project knew their job. Project manager kept us up to date daily on the projects progress. Would I use them again? Certainly.

After the removal of several trees due to Emerald Ash Borer, our backyard needed an overhaul. After meeting with several landscape companies, we decided to go with Elizabeth and her team from Biota. She executed the exact vision we had discussed in the design phase while also being very responsive to changes. During construction, Joe and his crew brought to life exactly what Elizabeth had designed and was was great at providing updates or answering my many questions. Elizabeth, Joe, and the whole Biota team added new, and worked with the old, to create a "up north" modern retreat in the middle of the city - just what we wanted. We've already worked with them again to install a new fence after the project was done. Would recommend to anyone.

We worked with Biota to remove the existing landscape at our home (which was poorly done by the previous owners) and create a garden of natives and pollinator-friendly plants. We are very happy with the result.

Our designer was extremely knowledgeable, observant, and pleasant to work with. We enjoyed every interaction with her, and are very happy with the design she prepared.

The landscaping team was unobtrusive and very efficient. They were able to manage the process in a couple of days, and even dealt with an unhappy surprise (a pile of landscaping rock hidden by anti-weed sheets) without complaint.

Overall, we are very happy with the experience and would definitely recommend Biota to others.

These guys are great! They did some work on a couple of retaining walls and a ton of rock work for us. We will be using them again in the spring for another project.
